SDL, thank you! You are always so sweet.

Shay, thank you. She is a pretty baby and a total sweetie.

Linda, you are so funny. If you lived here I would totally let you be her local Nana. My mom works in a middle school and her screen saver is all Tessa pics and her students are always teasing her that she is obsessed. I guess that is what being a grandma means. I''ll give her a great big kiss for you.

scarleta, It will take me many years to reach 20K I''m sure

Or is it bad for baby''s?? Or do they have to wait to eat solid foods?
Skippy, Tacori was just too kind to you when she responded. As always, you make me smile :-). You are definitely on the right track and thinking about the important issues, though! Babies, nowadays, don''t get "solid food" (i.e. anything but breast milk or formula) until quite late. To call what babies get "solid" is, of course, a misnomer. Nonetheless, non-liquid food is called, "solid" food. Back in 1992-1993 my doctor told me to start solid food at 6 months. Some mothers started it far earlier. I waited until six months. I was told to start with rice cereal to avoid allergies. I am sure that babies all over the world were getting whatever the family ate and thriving on it, but my daughter got only rice cereal. Each vegetable was introduced alone-i.e. given for several days without any other new food- to see if the baby tolerated it, before a new one was tried. There was an order in which foods had to be introduced. The green vegetables were first and the yellow second. (Fruits didn''t come first because they were sweeter and the baby, if s/he tasted the fruit first, might reject vegetables.) You also have to remember that new babies don''t have teeth. It gets complicated. At any rate, chocolate mousse cake at six or seven months would have been looked at as a sure fire way to kill your infant. A veritable death by chocolate ;-).

Maybe this belongs in another thread. ;-)

That is funny, my screen saver was full of my boys pictures too. You should see our family room and living room, pictures everywhere.

Linda
