gypsy, your photographer shoots in film? That is awesome. I am working on getting quotes for photographers now. My friends have paid on average $7000 on photos, all in the San Francisco Bay Area. Sarah, where are you having your wedding? What type of pictures are you hoping for. Also, I think you should ask for recommendations from the photographer. My friend went with a photographer/videographer team and if they had to do it again, they would find another photographer. It took, their photographer over a year to complete their wedding album.
Yeah, they are a gem. If you want their information, let me know.

Hey all, I was wondering if you ladies would mind sharing how much you paid for your:

Centerpieces per table
bm''s gifts per person
groomsmen''s gift per person
invites for the envelope/invite/rsvp/direction card

I am still trying to budget for those things and I am trying to figure out how much I should try to put aside for these items.
Centerpieces= $35 apiece 25 tables
BM''s gifts= $150 per person (9 BM!)
GM (9) & Ushers (2)= $150 per person
Total invitations were $1000.00 (pocketfold, invite, rsvp and an additonal 3 cards for accomodations, etc) BUT we get half of that back when we return the tuxes. Ordered them from Paper Duvet through Skeffington''s. This was one of the incentives to get the tuxes there

gypsy, I would love the information. I just found a photographer that shoots film, near Vallejo. I am thinking that if I could swing it, getting two photographers one who does film and another that does digital.... Of course cost will be an issue. My first pick for photographers was booked already. He gave me a few recommendations that I would need to follow up on. My FI really wants a good photographer so I know he would be interested in your photographer as well.

My guy is 5k for the whole day.

Free engagement photo session.

Photo album incl in fee.

http://www.jeffnewsom.com - Check out his wedding photos but in particular check out his blog. He was booked a year out when I called him.

His work is amazing. One of his photos was used for an ad in Martha Stewart Weddings and In Style weddings. I found him online by luck. He's traveling here from San Luis Obispo. No travel feeds, no accomodation fees.

I just looked at Jeff's website and his work is really nice. where is your wedding going to be?

I might email him if I don't have to pay him for travel and accommodations. How much is he going for?

ETA: I realized you said $5000. does he shoot in film or digital?

It''s going to be in Virginia, probably central Virginia. I really want the photo-journalistic style photos with some traditional thrown in. I am kind of an amateur photographer myself, so it''s sooo important to me. They need to look at least like photos I would take, preferably much better since they have an expensive better camera and are more experienced than I am. My quotes include engagement sessions and bridal portraits. Wow one year? That''s so long! Hmm that''s a question I should start asking, how long it takes to complete the album.

Anybody have a good lead for photographers in the Virginia area for Sarah?

That''s a great idea, I need to look into doing that. I wonder if there are any stores in this area that will do that. Thanks.

Anchor, I am in awe of your ability to keep your cost down. I have yet to find a photographer for less than $3500 and you are getting yours for less than half that.

My numbers in Central VA:

Centerpieces: $12 I''m buying bulk daisies, and putting them in mason jars with ribbons tied around them, and for candles citronella votives in small mason jars. The flowers are $9 per table and the rest are the jars and candles. (Thanks whoever gave me the idea to switch to mason jars! They''re so cheap).

Bouquets: $50 for BMs, $55 for Bride (Bouts are $5 each)

BM Gifts: $75

Invitations: About $10/each, including all the inserts, which I''m actually happy about since they''re letterpressed and 5 pieces

Photographer: $2600 for 7 hours of unlimited coverage and bridal album

we're in the detroit,mi area

centerpieces: $10-12 dollars each. we are having a december wedding so got a lot of berry branches and that type of thing on clearance last month. we're doing three different ones; one is a black square charger with different size pillar candles with different types of ribbon wrapped around them, one is a green glass globe candleholder with berries around it on a round charger plate and the other is a tall black vase with berry branches and black feather plumes

BM bouquets: not having them. the girls are going to carry lanterns with candles in them. they will probably be about $12 each total, if not less

my bouquet: my sister in law used to work at a flower shop so we are going to do it together. we are ordering the roses online and adding feathers and branches and a little greenery. total it shouldn't be more than $40

BM gifts: haven't decided, but probably around $30 a piece. i know that sounds cheap but i'm still in school and have no income! I'm probably going to make them each something and then buy a gift to go with it. not sure about groomsmen gifts, that's his job!

photographer: 2k. www.agirlinlove.com . we have our first meeting next week!

our invites are probably going to be about $2 a piece total. FI's sisters boyfriend is a graphic designer so he is going to design them for us and then we are going to get them printed through a connection. I don't think we are going to have a lot of inserts though...

Centerpieces: We had roses, lilies, and orchids... They were around $150.00 each, or maybe $200.00....I can''t remember.

Bridesmaid Gifts: I did a lot for my girls. I bought their dresses and stuff...but I also bought them a gift from Tiffany''s which was around $150-250.00 depending on which girl we''re talking about.

Groomsman: He recieved a watch around 300.00

Invitations: They were pocket boxes...and were $15.00 each

Bridal Bouquet: 350.00 -- it was very large!

Thier style isn''t for eveyone though. It''s got a little bit of a sensual bent.

gtn, I know your concerned about the price of centepeices and I just ran across these, they are AWESOME and can totally be DIY and inexpensive. They can be done in any colors with just about any flowers.

I'm actually considering a few of them around the base of my main centerpeices (if I can afford to add to that budget...lol).

AWESOME INEXPENSIVE CENTERPIECES gypsy.JPG

gypsy those are great! i''m going to see if i can find a way to use those too haha

Funny isn''t it? I just found them and thought... OH they are perfect. If I didn''t NEED high centerpeices, they''d be high on my list man. Totally cost effective. They''d also be great individually on cocktail tables at the cocktail hour.

My friend used something similar to this for her wedding centerpieces about 5 yrs ago. I took a set home and still use them today! We went back to linens n things about a hundred times so we could buy each set with a 20% off coupon. Ha!

That is an awesome idea for an outdoor wedding. Especially during dusk when the bugs are out. Too bad FI doesn''t like the smell of citronella.

Welcome. I thought they were lovely. If I was a guest I would totally think "Those are FABULOUS centerpieces!" Wouldn''t think ''budget'' at all. Which is always a bonus.
