Desperately Seeking Spinel!!

While I love the 1st one under natural light, I don't like the way all the colour seem to leach out of the stone in indoor light (steely greenish gray colour).
The second is a beautiful colour shifter - purple to blue.

LS That was before I changed my avatar to purple and then teal. I'll post the pic I was talking about. So as you'll see, your sapphire is much closer in color to my preference, but that isn't going to happen because there is no way that would happen in our budget. ETA: I changed it. That's my favorite color, and the color of about 4 pairs of shoes, as well as my car...

Lupinbunny I think you hit the nail on the head as to why I love spinel more than sapphire--they have something that sapphires don't. Which is part of the reason why this thread is named what it is.

Chrono You and I are on the same page. The unevenness of the color inside is bothering me. But the color in natural light is stunning. Problem is that I spend 90%+ time inside, and that inside color doesn't do much for me. What would you choose?

Freke, I missed the last two pages of posts somehow but omg. I love the first stone from Mystery Cutter. The color change is AMAZING! It really is a great stone with a lot of life.

I do like the second stone, too, but somehow the Mystery Cutter one just seems more like YOU.

I gotta put my vote in for the Barry stone. It just - YUM. I mean - YUM. I love the faceting, the color, everything. The uneven color in the first one is great outside, but you''re right, inside, it''s just not as cool.

No decision made yet, but I am leaning one way for sure.

BF liked the daylight color of both stones (blues) and very much disliked the purple and gray/greenish colors on them both. So he said that he wants me to be happy, and that I should get what I want.

I''m going to go check the mail and see if Dan''s package is here yet.
