I modelled the rounded report diamond proportions in DiamCalc. The diamond you were looking at has slightly better proportions than those listed.I was curious where you got that ASET image you posted? Is that a projected model of the diamond from the dimensions in the original post?
I was also wondering if you feel the size/carat weight of a diamond makes any difference in influencing cut quality and light performance (or perhaps it doesn't matter as long as the proportions and table size are within ideal range). Are high quality and well cut diamonds harder to find in the larger diamond sizes?
Everyone in here has been so gracious and generous with your feedback, so thank you all greatly!
Size does matter. There are far less +2ct super ideals than 1ct and under.
Above 5ct I would probably avoid perfect symmetry since very large diamonds can look boring and some poor symmetry can actually mix it up a bit.
If symmetry is less good then I would go for slightly shallower because then any deviations would not result in as much leakage.
