Can''t wait. It''s going to be lovely! Have you seen Tawn''s WF spit shank? It''s got a round halo and plain shanks but it''s always been one of my favorites that they''ve done. I''m sure yours will be as stunning!Date: 5/1/2008 5:16:08 PM

Thank you Gypsy! I think its going to take about 3 weeks to make it. I should have the CAD images next week sometime so I will be sure to post them!
Maybe you should post them in a poll and let us decide.Date: 5/2/2008 12:38:09 AM

I have a setting I love, but I''ve seen another setting that I love. I don''t know what to do. Can''t make up my mind. So here I sit dithering around, going nowhere...you are not the only one!! I do think that split shank halo setting willl give you plenty of finger coverage
Maybe I just will, Miss EllenDate: 5/2/2008 8:15:39 AM

FOUR YEARS. It took me four years. I bothered EVERY vendor on here. Kept changing my mind. I was a total PITA. Your fine honey. It's going to be beautiful, and worth the effort nd pain when you get done. I promise.

Its a halo setting with a split shank... a bit like this one:
It''s a pretty ring, but I much prefer yours, personally. And I''m not just saying that.Date: 5/3/2008 10:26:21 AM

Dear Ellen and Maisie~I already know what the answer to the poll would beThe potential setting is lotsofsparkle Tacori on SMTR. Click on my avi and then on gallery images to see my rings. I think that my rings need to be seen IRL to be truly appreciated. I tried on the Tacori anad it''s lovely. It helps with DSS. It doesn''t allow a wedding band to sit flush or even very close it. My set doesn''t help with DSS, but has the va-va-voom sparkle factorThe only remedy would be an upgrade, which is not possible at this time. So here I sit...dithering away...at least for the present

I will stay with the split shank. I think its gorgeous.
I feel really tired from thinking about this new setting. I have a tendency to over-think and worry about things. Thats probably why I change my mind so much. I worry about making a mistake.

It''s beautiful!
Maisie, honey, I think that is a beautiful setting but I have to give you some sisterly advice. Please don''t buy that setting with the idea of rebuying it in platinum later if you love it! If you change settings later, you can always put a colored stone in this setting. But you definitely don''t want two settings exactly alike! And you generally lose money selling a setting! I''d really advise you to go with either 18k wg or platinum now. It will cost you a lot less in the end than buying the same setting twice!!!!Date: 5/3/2008 6:13:00 PM

Canuk Gal.... I can totally relate to the headaches... I have spent way too much time in front of my computer trying to work out what I want. I know that this is the setting I really really want, I just didn''t have the courage to order it! I wanted something with lots of sparkle but worried that I might be too hard on my ring.
Butterfly..... I thought that my diamond was going to be my forever diamond... then I saw a deal that I just couldn''t let pass me by. I was very upset at the thought of not keeping my original stone and when we had car trouble and needed to use the funds set aside for upgrade, I was so relieved. I can''t wait to see my beautiful diamond again!! I love the ring in your avatar!!! Its stunning!!
Kcoursolle.... I know what you mean about stopping and just appreciating what you have. I think that its good advice for someone like me. I love looking at the beautiful rings on here, but I need to stay with my choice and not keep trying to get something different.
I am buying my new setting in 14K White Gold. I want to be sure that this is the style of ring that I will be comfortable with, and also that I will be able to look after the smaller diamonds too. If I decide that I do love it I am going to buy it in Platinum at a later date.
I hear you DS .... I probably won''t go for two settings exactly the same. I may change some elements or go for something completely different. You know me... ''Mrs Can''t make her mind up!''Date: 5/3/2008 9:18:02 PM

Oh my... I changed my mind all the time. I had a specific idea at first, but then I started looking at pics and digging and learning about diamonds and I changed my mind at least 6 times within my 9 months as a LIW. I was driving myself (and my FI) crazy. And then I did the same with my wedding dress, my wedding band... heck, I even changed the whole wedding plans over once!
Thank you for telling me how well your ring is holding up! I do worry a little bit about losing tiny stones - in the UK its hard to find decent jewellers, never mind beautiful tiny stones to replace lost ones. I think I would probably rather send my ring back to WF if it needed repairs. I am sure it will be fine though!Date: 5/5/2008 8:58:01 AM

I changed my mind soooooo many times, but it was before I got engaged, luckily! I probably would have been engaged sooner if I could have decided on the ring!
I love the new setting you're getting-it looks beautiful! And just so you know, I've had my WF custom engagement ring with 3 sided pave for over a year and *knock on wood* I haven't lost a stone yet! (Watch-I'll put my ring on today and there will be 5 missing!) It's 14k white gold also, and it hasn't really changed colors that much yet.
I just couldn't justify the extra money for 18k white gold since they look exactly the same. Plus I had my grandmother's ring already and it was 14k white gold. I'm also not crazy about the look of platinum, so all my fine jewelry will be white gold. I agree with you that if you think you'll change it at all, definitely stick to 14k white gold! That way if you do want to make changes or upgrade in the future it won't be too expensive.
Anyways, I can't wait to see your new ring! Do you think you'll still upgrade down the road? I'm planning on buying a .5 carat ACA for my graduation present to myself and I want to be the new Maisie around here as far as upgrades go!I'm trying to decide right now how cheap to go on the setting since I know I'll upgrade!
