Do you WORDLE?

I tried starting with a word that has a lot of vowels and I didn't love it. I do better start with a word that has a couple common vowels (usually a and e) and then three other commonly used consonants. I just do better if I have an ide of which consonants to focus on.
 
Wordle took me 5 tries today.

But Quordle took took me 7 tries(3/4/5/7) :loopy:
 
I forgot all about Mastermind. I don't think I've played it since I was in graduate school. But I also think I still have it in the basement somewhere!

I am enjoying going back and doing past wordles. Helps me get my wordle fix in as wordle and wordle 2 goes so fast every AM. :)
But man, it is a time suck haha.
 
FWIW, my starting word had only one vowel, and it was not one of my hits. ;-)

The archive is a great place to check out different “strategies.” For example - last night I was hanging around with my husband and his mountain biking group. They’d been riding all day, so after dinner they watched a movie to unwind. Since the movie didn’t need my full attention -LOL- I played a few rounds of Wordle archive and asked my husband for starting words. He doesn’t Wordle, so he has no notions about what makes a good starting word. My scores were:
4-4-6-4-6-3

This morning I played the same starting word (“strategically” chosen, one vowel) for six rounds. My “scores” were:
2-5-3-4-4-3.

Admittedly a small sampling, but maybe… the choice of starting words is not critical to finishing, but a good starting word can result in lower scores…?
 
I had Wordle in two today. Wordle 2 in 4 again. So I guess I'm not really better at Wordle 2. It's just luck in picking your first word, I think.

And yes @missy it is addictive, but I agree, it's nice to have as the others go pretty fast. Quardle takes me quite a bit longer than Wordle and Wordle 2.
 
Hmm. Wordle in 4. Quordle in 7 (4/5/6/7). I think I’m getting worst at Wordle but better at Quordle.

I've lost my wordle mojo. Yesterday and today I stared at the board and said duhhhhhhhhhh until my eyeballs dried out. Why, oh why is this happening?

Oh give yourself a Quordle break. I usually warm up with Quordle. Once you solve 4 words, 1 word seems surmountable-though it doesn’t necessarily help my Wordle score-lol…
 
HAH! First time ever, I got it in two tries just now, and was rewarded with "Magnificent!" :lol: When I've taken six tries, I just hoot when Wordle says, "Phew!"
 
So I just tried Quordle. What fun! Out of four games (daily plus three practice) I solved all four twice, and got three of four twice. My scores were nothing to boast about though - I considered myself lucky just to get all four words! Looking forward to trying this each day too.

Wordle: Took 5 today. I had the first two letters the second guess but there were just too many possible solutions.

Wordle2: 2 I got zero hits my first guess and it eliminated almost all the common letters. It took me a bit to even make a word with what was left, but it ended up being correct. First time I've gotten it in two.

Oh for heaven's sake, doesn't anyone at the NYT cook? I flubbed it today.
 
Whew, three tries, that was fun.

I was too tired to play Wordle the last two days, did I miss any good words? (I'll try look them up too.)

Also, I wonder when "carat" will be the word of the day! :lol:

So they changed Wordle 2 this morning.
I am glad there is still a wordle 2 but lost all my previous Wordles 2.

Got today's wordle in two tries and the new Wordle 2 in three tries.
And I am addicted to the wordle archives lol. I am up to Wordle 42 in the archives :lol:

Haven't tried Quordle yet. 8)

@missy I finished the archives a while ago. Thank goodness for Wordle 2 and Quordle :lol-2:
