Hahaha-you don''t mess around! I think that means you definitely wanted that dress!

You look absolutely gorgeous in it! I still love the old one, too, but this one is just as beautiful! I really like the neckline and you look sooooooo happy in it! The veil is great, too! It looks like it fits you well-will you need to get it altered?

Also...how did you manage to sneak it in your apartment? Or did you just ''fess up?

I didn''t post before because I didn''t want to be rude, but I didn''t think your first dress was terribly flattering. I do however think the new one is perfect on your body and seeing them both one you leaves no doubt in my mind you made the right choice.

OOOHHHH! You look gorgeous in that dress! I love the veil - it has the same flirty, feminine feel as the dress.

I was a two dress bride in 1992, and have never regretted the decision. I know that I would have always looked at my wedding pictures with a tinge of regret if I hadn''t worn the dress I wore.

Your other dress was beautiful too, but I love the sweetheart neckline on you.

Enjoy - I''m sure you feel great about your decision.

Ditto!! I much prefer how the Dora fits you around the bust/torso. I wouldn''t say your first dress was unflattering, but the dress itself just didn''t seem to present itself well. You know the theory about people have numbers, and people only date up or down a certain number of levels? It seemed to me like you were a touch too many levels above that dress. You and the Dora, however, are a perfect match!

Agree with this too! I didn''t think that the first dress was unflattering as such, but I much prefer the one that you have now!

Facet - I am SOOO happy I bought it and I don''t think I''ll have any regrets at all. I have been in love with this dress since I tried it on in like August, and I know myself and I just wouldn''t have been as happy in the other one, and I should have known that in the first place.

CJ - I''m so glad you are so understanding about it!! That makes me feel much better about the whole thing. I would never feel offended or put off if someone else bought the same dress I had, and I''m so glad you feel the same way. Let''s pat ourselves on the back for our awesome taste in fashion. I did get a tip from the Ebay girl about how to bustle the dress...I''ll let you know after your dress comes in and show you pics after I get mine done. I saw it french bustled and I just didn''t love it and this one is a little different. I did work with Carrie again, she was so great, she''s even ordering me a brand new sash from MS for no charge!! And cleaning for free!! She was really awesome. I''ll need to get the hem done and taken in a little in the waist probably, maybe some cups added but other than that it''s just perfect the way it is. As for transportation, the bag I have now is cloth rather than plastic so I think I''m just going to put both dresses in there and hope he doesn''t notice!! Or I may end up shipping the first one up before Xmas, we''ll see.

thing2 - I really did, once I tried it on again I knew I couldn''t wear that other dress. I won''t need too many alterations, although the dress has like 8 different layers of fabric, so I''m sure it won''t be cheap. And I actually haven''t brought it home yet, they are sending it out for cleaning today and I should have it by the end of the week. I''m going to have to sneak home during the day and put it in the closet!!

Brazen - I needed honest opinions!! I''m glad you spoke up now, because I was having the same thoughts and I''m glad you reaffirmed my thoughts. I''m so happy with this dress and now I won''t have to worry about sitting down! I was starting to wonder, I''ve never tried to sit down in that other dress, and with it being so tight around my legs and butt I was a littlle worried. Plus, when I sit down I think it would do some weird bunching across the torso....oh well don''t have to worry about it anymore!!

Anastasia - Thank you!! I absolutely love the veil too. You are right, in the long run I''ll be much happier with this dress. FI would hate to hear me say this, but really it''s just money and memories are a bit more important on this occasion. Hopefully I''ll be able to sell it and get just a little bit of the cost back at least. The first one is still a great dress, maybe just for a different girl.

ladyciel and bee* - hahaha numbers, that''s great. Thanks for both of your votes, I am absolutely in love with this dress and I am absolutely confident that I made the right decision.

It''s going to hurt tonight to go pick up the first dress from the seamstress and pay her the last of her fees....hahaha

Karasue, I am so glad you got the Dora! I thought both were really flattering on you, but you seem so in love with the Dora that I''m sure it was the right decision.

Also, I am obsessed with your veil. I just LOVE it! It''s totally what I''d love to have with my dress ...

Thanks Krissie!! I like it too because there are 2 layers, and when the one folds down over your face, it creates a perfect poufy little cage! Also, one of the layers is detachable so if I want to wear it for the reception, I can detach one of the layers and it won''t be so over the top. Still deciding on whether I''ll wear it during the reception or not....

When I first tried on the veil I googled it afterward to see if I could find it online for cheaper, but I couldn''t find anything even similar! Let me know if you can''t find something similar in your area....I''m not sure where you live, but I know the Wedding Atelier would ship! If you call them, ask for Carrie (she is the owner) and tell her that you want to know about the cage veil that Kara bought with her Dora dress....hahaha and if that doesn''t work out, I would be totally willing to work out some kind of sharing arrangement!!

You are so sweet! I live in London but am moving back to the US at the end of the month. After I get everything settled I''m beginning the veil quest in mid-Jan and may just give WA a call!!

yay Karasue!!! You look gorgeous in the Dora!!!!

There really is something about that dress eh? (i can''t seem to part with mine just yet, even though i intended to)
When I ordered my dress I did so based on the sample that had literally come from the runway and was in the store for just 2 days! (tattered, much much too small and dirty as anything) but i ordered it 2 weeks later b/c there is just something about that dress that captures a lot of different aspects of my personality--feminine, unique yet simple, vintagey--the dress just has it all. I am assuming us dress triplets on here feel the same way.
We need to start a ''girls who wear dora'' thread

Your sample is in terrific shape!

You are going to be a stunning bride!

Don''t worry about being a two-dress bride--sell it and don''t look back

Karasue, I won''t get my gown until June!! It''s going to be absolute torture. But yes, please do let me know about the bustle. I don''t know a whole lot about bustles, but I think it''s the French bustle that I don''t like. So definitely let me know how you do yours!!

So cool that Carrie is ordering a new sash and cleaning it for free! I don''t think she was there the day that I visited. I would love to meet her.

Are you getting the alterations done at Wedding Atelier or in Canada? Any ideas on jewelry? I can''t wait to get the dress!!!!!

Yay Jas12, I''m glad you saw my post!! Yes, there really is something about that dress. The first time I tried it on I was afraid it was too trendy and I might hate it in 20 years looking at my pictures. I was obviously smoking crack. I think I will have a hard time selling it after the wedding too because I know I will be attached. Damn you Melissa Sweet for turning me into a blubbering bride over a silly dress!!

Today I have already posted on craigslist and partypop, will post more places once I pick up the first dress tonight and take pics of how it looks with the crystal buttons down the back.

CJ - I''m going to have to get the alterations done in Canada, but there is at least one store in Calgary that carries Melissa Sweet so I''m leaning toward taking it there. However, I''m not a huge fan of getting alterations done at the bridal salon because they tend to charge an arm and a leg. I know how much that standard charge is at WA though, and even though it seems high, I think it will be pretty reasonable considering that it really does cost a lot to work with all those layers. Not sure if you already paid for the alterations, but if you want the name of a great seamstress, the lady who worked on Dress 1 for me did a fantastic job and I got her name from another girl on the Knot who recommended her.

As for jewelry, I completely forgot to post it up here cuz of this dress drama, but I''m wearing a necklace that was my grandmothers. It''s just austrian crystal so it''s not valuable or anything, but it has sentimental value and man does it SPARKLE!!! And since the necklace is pretty chunky, I''ll just do some simple studs in my ears.

I can relate to feeling awful about the money lost on the first dress (since I tend to be v. practical/frugal!), but I have to admit the 2nd dress is gorgeous and looks amazing on you, so well done!! I love the way it flows, it''s very romantic and unique at the same time!! I hope you''re able to sell the first dress...if not maybe you can donate it to charity and take it as a write off. I thought I''d do that with my own dress (which ended costing several thousand after alterations), but alas, I''m too attached...

Oh my goodness, Karasue, that''s absolutely YOUR dress. That''s the one. It''s easy to tell by how extraordinarily happy you look in the photos. I LOVE it on you. And the veil is precious !

Congrats - I''m so happy for you! You are glowing in the dress and I am so glad you decided to get what truly makes you happy!

I just wanted to introduce myself...I am a Dora bride too! Just decided this week so I''m super excited :) It is such a beautiful dress and I''m looking forward to exchanging pics, ideas, etc with you and the other Dora bride on her (crown jewel maybe??)

Congrats again :)

Welcome Future Mrs Polka Dot!! Well I can certainly see why you picked the Dora with you screen name!! Yes, CrownJewel is the other Dora bride on here so far...

I think I''ve seen your name around another board...the Knot maybe?

janinegirly and fancy - thank you so much. I am so ridiculously excited to be able to wear this dress!!!

yay Karasue! the Dora is absolutely stunning on you... I almost bought a previously worn Dora too but ended up finding a local designer to do a Vera Wang copy, which fell into my budget nicely -- but now seeing Dora pictures again - is making me have some slightly second thoughts!
You are beautiful in it!
I''m glad you got your dream dress :) The other one looked amazing on you too but Dora is THE ONE!

Krause - thanks for the welcome! Yup, I''m on the knot too! I have been struggling with the dress decision for quite some time until this week when I finally decided on Dora - yay!! I am so excited for all of us, it is just such a beautiful dress!

I look forward to sharing ideas, pics, etc!

Krause

Sorry, my keyboard is a bit sticky and I just realized I typed "Krause" - lovely little nickname! Sorry, Karasue!

I'm so happy you got your Dora. I think it is much better suited to you than your first dress. This dress and veil are gorgeous and you look absolutely radiant. When it's right, you just know it
