I wrote the seller, telling him that he misrepresented the size of the mounting and the quality of the diamonds, and I got this response:

''Dear buyers, if you are not satisfied can return it to us, we MOUNT is suitable for this 7.5-8MM round, our technical staff definitely have the ability to install 7.5-8MM round stones, we can for you free installation,
please ship to my office;
Wu yongjian
Room #501 3 stairs 2 Buildding No.106 west fuhua Rd,Panyu distrist ,guangzhou 511400 China #13928861522 thanks.''

He says nothing about the crappy diamonds. I''m feeling worse about this transaction.

And what kind of address is that - stairs??!!
Thats odd - when I and others returned our LOGR''s it was to the US. I wonder why this has changed..

perhaps email again and ask him to write the address as he would if on a package, as you''re not familiar with Chinese addresses, and ant to make sure it gets there safe?

I''m sorry again, I think if you''re that disappointed it wasn''t worth even what you paid..

Unfortunately you pay for what you get with LOGR settings BUT if you''re not happy he does refund in full. I had an 8 x 8mm LOGR Legacy and I''m more than happy with the quality. The diamonds are gorgeous. However, I''ve had a couple of other settings that have been less than good!

I think, from the looks of his note to you that he''s offering to set your central stone - which is why he wants you to send it to China. English obviously isn''t his first language and I''ve had a number of very strange emails with him!

If you compare it to your sapphire ring, there''s no comparison but then I guess you paid way more for that in any case. Your setting is definitely not the worst LOGR setting I''ve seen but the diamonds look like an H/I/J colour but the clarity looks around SI2.

Good luck with your decision.

I love the STYLE of setting that is, if the diamonds sparkeled is would be really killer.
Send it back and get what you love!

I think it looks quite lovely for the price that you paid..but if it does not sing to you, return it. I returned an LOGR setting after having a stone set into it and a diamond fell out.

I worried that diamonds would continually fall out which is the main reason for my return. It was over the 30 day time frame for returns, but they were quite gracious and and let me return it for a full refund minus shipping. The credit to my Paypal acct. did not take that long to receive. (less than 2 weeks)

I think it is pretty... but if you are not happy with it, ask for your money back... because you don''t want any ring to just ''sit'' in your jewerly box. Hope it all works out for you! :)

Me too - sorry you are not so happy with the setting you received.

Great advice to ask for the address in a better format. I don''t think I would send him a stone to set - however technically able his team is - I am with you; It does not look like the stones will fit unless they are about 6mm.....hmm

If you are really unhappy with it I''d guess you paid about $146 too much... I''m sorry you didn''t totally fall in love with it.

ditto--sorry cellentani.

I''d return it.

Sorry for your disappointment cellentani. Bummer. If it''s going to bother you at all, I''d return it.

Hmm, it certainly does look "sleepy" compared to your sapphire ring! But overall, not horrible, depending on what you paid for it? Annoying that it does not appear to be the right mm size though!

I like the style but if the diamonds don''t look good then I''d probably return it. BTW the grey colour probably comes from poor cut rather than the clarity, unless you can see dark inclusions in the diamonds...

Thanks everyone for being so sympathetic and encouraging. This setting is actually not a LOGR setting; the seller is happyday2203. So that explains some of the confusion with the US/China address. I do think that the diamonds are not full cut. All of the sparkle comes from the table of the diamonds, nothing from within, and it looks very one-dimensional. I told the seller that I would like to return the ring and asked him to verify his address, but his only reply was to acknowledge the return. I guess insurance is a must. The seller does have 100% positive feedback; granted, he doesn''t have nearly the numbers that LOGR has.

Anyway, time to move on. My 40th

birthday is in early February, and it''s my job to pick something out. Now I think I might need a little something extra for that eBay disappointment.

Good luck with the return.

Ew, I understand this well. I have a couple of pieces from Zales that my husband bought way-pre-PS. Those diamonds just dead inside, but there''s some lovely glint off the tables... you know, the ones that don''t have surface inclusions

Glad to hear you''re sending it back. I forget whose signature it is/was (a regular poster) that says "a deal is only a deal if you''re getting exactly what you want" (or something like that). So true!
