(It''s funny how genuinely I live vicariously through all the recent engagees on here... when my "real life" friends get engaged, I feel a pretty even mix of happiness and jealousy... but on here, I really truly feel excited and hopeful. I think maybe cause I feel like we''re all on the same team in here, so any progress is progress for everyone. Team LIW! T-shirts anyone?

I agree! And with another weekend, I''m sure that there will be several more "I''m engaged!" posts come Sunday night or Monday morning.

I also agree. Not only are we all in this together, but I doubt that we'd ever have to go through the following conversation when another LIW gets engaged:

Other person: So, Blenheim, when I heard that someone was engaged I thought it was you!
Me: Uh, okay...
Other person: When is your boyfriend proposing, anyway?

ETA: Sorry, I just get kinda grumpy when my friends get engaged, even when I'm really happy for them. All of our mutual friends start asking questions that I clearly do not have answers to, even when I've already told them that it's hard on me when they do that. The sorority rituals exacerbate the problem, because everyone knows that somebody's engaged long before they know who it is, inviting a lot of speculation. I really am truly happy when a LIW gets engaged.
