Thank you! I bought it last year fromI love this. It’s so unique. When did you purchase the demantoid? I have been thinking I would like one but I’m worried they are too delicate for a ring.
Thank you! I bought it last year from
Vance Gems. I was at a gem show, and the owner, Elke, pulled out some boxes she did not have on display that were locked in their vaults for years. I was so shocked at the price and the bluish green color, I grabbed it. The mount was from “Best In Gems” from the same show.
I love demantoids. They’re soft, but not brittle. If you’re careful, they hold up well, and the sparkle is incredible, especially on African stones. The Russian stones, while more chrome green, tend to have less fire unless you get one that’s very very clean. I’m not a fan of horsetail inclusions as they can cloud up the gem.
This baby arrived today, I snatched it on LT. 0.78ct Jedi Spinel ring, neon reddish pink. Absolutely no dark side. I've actually seen pictures of this ring before and had it saved for color inspiration during my own spinel search. When I saw it a few days ago for sale on LT I knew it was meant to be and it's pretty much my size! Great preloved condition, more than fair price too as loose jedi stones of similar size nowadays are selling for more than what I paid for the entire ring. Not the greatest photo, it was a quick snap.
Omg I love everything about that stone! This whole ring is amazing!

Looks absolutely gorgeous on your hand. One of those perfect "meant to be" rings!
The Opal I just got, and wouldn’t have qualified at the old price, but I’m thrilled with it. All of the others are under $1250. All from eBay or the RealReal Except one. The cab pink sapphire I’m going to reset. The jelly bean ring, for now I will just size it—orange garnet & chrysoberyls. The Opal I will size and rhodium plate. The seven rings on one hand, are Aquamarine, sapphire, ruby, sapphire, zircon, sapphire, and Chalcedony (a gift from Australia). I’ll get more pictures—that’s all I had on my iPad.
The opal looks like a sapphire! I like it in yellow gold so maybe you should wear it for a while before deciding to rhodium plate it.

I decided to revive this thread and add some of my newer rings. I’m frugal and always looking for ways to save money and so all of my CS rings are in this category.
Ivy Rose setting with pink zircon
Stuller setting with precision cut pink spinel
Mahenge spinel in repurposed setting
Rainbow sapphire in repurposed setting
You must be my doppelganger!!! I love hunting for rings to repurpose!!!
The hunt is most of the fun!
I don't know why I've never put these here, but both of these count!
Both bought over a decade ago. These started it all.
The little Belcher red spinel was only $400.00- I didn't even know that natural spinel was a thing. I thought when I saw it that it was a nice faux ruby from the time period. The man who sold it to us was so excited we were looking at it, he dropped what he was doing and came right over and we talked about spinel (got out the loupes and everything- he loved gems and had to talk about her 'fingerprints') and we had such a nice time he gave me a lifelong bug for it The big blue I bought a year or so after, I think. It was just a ridiculous auction steal at $800.00, the shop we got this from couldn't believe it went for that low even with the deep belly native cut- it had a full GIA report and the spinel alone was 5cts and 60+pts of FG VS diamond accents/18k pink gold custom setting...from what I remember they were good natured about it but honestly a little upset. I've never really been able to match that several year run of cheap good luck finds. What wouldn't I give to pay the same prices now, I've been addicted ever since!

Thank you! Those two for $1,200??? Gateway drug.
Gorgeous rings, such color! Love your bands, too.
That's a beauty of a bargain. Well done!Quite pleased with this budget ring -
Y'all know how I love Montana sapphires (just something about them). Bought this heavily included but precision cut 2.2ct sapphire at the latest Mastercut Gems super sale for a too-low-to-resist price of $322. Though it's really is quite included and silky, it glows in the sunlight (opalescent, if you will) and indirect light and is super lovely. I don't mind the imperfections - especially at that price!
Then the hard part, setting it for a budget price! I looked to Amcor Designs on Etsy, and found out that they will set customer's stones in their settings for no extra fee, and provide free overnight shipping back! Turnaround was literally one week. They received my stone on a Monday, and I had the ring completed in hand that Friday. They did a good job, but according to Alberto they couldn't do the claw prongs I requested because of the delicate nature of a heavily included stone. Oh well.
All in Stone + Setting = $730. Now, the pics. First is video screenshot. Next two are shaded outdoor lighting. Slightly more vivid than irl.
