haha I like too many to have a favorite, and right now, I''m all about old cut colorless diamonds--which don''t count in a favorite colored stone thread.

But...

I''d really love a nice sapphire. Violetish blue--vivid saturation--medium tone--yep, ok, I really want one of those now.

The answer to this hypothetical question must be...

Fancy Colored Diamonds, preferably green, yellow and orange.

I have been drooling over a 1.92 ct intense fancy olive green (very little grey or brown in it), radiant cut, GIA certified recently but my budget is quite a bit below that right now :)

I''ve never seen an orange diamond! How bright is the color?

BEG, Tourmaline_Lover has a .80 orange diamond in a cleftless heart shape. It''s beautiful. I''ve never seen anything like it. Have you seen it?

Thanks for the link PR! I remember that stone now - I only saw the pic and had no idea it was a diamond - it''s such a bright pretty orange (I thought it was a spess). That''s what I get for still being a colored stone noob

PR,
Thank you. You are too kind, and you always say such nice things. I have to do something with that diamond one of these days!!

I was going over that link, and I just realized I never thanked anyone for the kind comments they gave me on the diamond. Boy, was I rude!! Well, thanks everyone!! Sorry, it's a bit too late.

Garnet. I''d love an andradite.

What does an andradite look like? I have to confess, I have no idea, but I''m definitely curious!
Demantoid is an example. Andradites have extremely high RI.

you know I''d never seen spesses until PS, and I''m not a big fan of the color orange, but the ones I''ve seen here (on PS) are so flame-like and bright. They''re really intriguing me now!

I did see spess earrings a month or so ago at my jewelers and they were really pretty IRL too!
