Hello, all! I've mentioned previously that due to medical negligence, I became disabled & found myself in chronic pain, and have had multiple surgeries (abdomen, hips, spine) to try to fix the damage. It looks like a second spinal surgery is needed, so that's another $40,000 out of pocket (insurance views this surgery as "experimental"). We're already pretty broke from the previous surgeries, so it's gotten to the point where my husband and I are selling as many things as we can to raise money for this surgery. Some of you may remember the moonstone ring I posted about; I sold that one to a friend locally, for a little more than what I paid for it. To say it upset me to have to sell that does not capture my emotions, but it is what it is. I will sell the two emerald rings I have if I absolutely have to, but that would truly break my heart. I'm holding on to them for as long as I can.

I have chosen some of the nicest pieces I have to see if anybody here is interested in buying any of them. (I also have dozens of sterling silver/CZ type pieces that belonged to my mother, but I don't think anybody here would be interested in them.) There are 42 pieces, most of which belonged to my mother. I have taken a picture of them all together in a jewelry box. If anyone is interested in a specific piece, I plan to take it to the jeweler to get carat weight, metal composition (I'm not sure in some cases if the silver-coloured metal is silver or platinum), and other characteristics confirmed. I don't know the information myself, except in a couple of cases. I don't even know what the pricing should be! I was going to base pricing on what the jeweler tells me, but first I would like to know if anyone is even interested in any of the pieces.

If this post needs editing to fit guidelines, or needs to be moved to a specific forum, please let me know.

I am so sorry about the need to part with these beauties. Please recover quickly. My thoughts are with you.
I am interested in 34, 17, 23 and 28.
Do you have prices and a LT listing so I can reach out?

I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles. I'm definitely interested in 3 & 6, and depending on the size, 19, 28 & 39.

So sorry to hear what happened :[ I hope things get better soon. I would be interested in 41.

Hello, Even though I'm not in the market for any of your lovely items, I just wanted to express my sympathy for your health situation - many good wishes and prayers to you!

So pretty!

I am interested in 24, 26, 31, 32 and 40!

Sending you good vibes!

Hi I’m interested in 4, any idea in the size of the stones?

I will dig out the paperwork later today! (Fingers crossed I can find it, lol.) I have a doctor's appointment but I will be back in a couple of hours and I will look for it then.

Thank you so much! Your kindness means a lot. It is a very tough time.

Awesome! The main stone in piece 32 is cut in that style where you kind of just follow the contours of the stone rather than doing a rigidly straight cutting job (can't remember the name of this cutting style). Some people prefer it, though. I will post a close-up photo when I get back from my doctor's appointment. It's a pretty stone, with a lovely ocean blue colour. If you're still interested, I will take the pieces to the jeweler this weekend or early next week at the latest and have him look at the pieces for me.

I really appreciate your good vibes, more than I can say. Thank you :)

Thank you for the info and yes, I am still interested.

Would you approx. know the size of the rings?

I will check in here and see about listings.

Still thinking of you!

Hi, sorry you are needing more surgery. Terrible that you need to sell your lovelies to fund it.
Im interested in no’s 1, 2, 3 and the pairs of diamond studs.
And there are plenty of people who love sterling silver and CZ Pieces.
If you need a hand selling them, I can do it for you on eBay if you like. I am a 17 year eBay veteran with close to 1,500 feedback so people like to buy from me (and I’m a nice person as a bonus ha ha).
sending hugs.

Sendimg dust your way for quick sales. Sorry to hear about your health status. Hope this 2nd surgery goes smoothly and you're on the road to recovery ASAP.

Hi I’m interested in 4, any idea in the size of the stones?

@Nymf I found the paperwork! Sorry for the delay!! The earrings are approx. .48cttw, VS2 or better, colour I or better. They were actually bought in 2011, and appraised at the time for $1090. I'm attaching a picture of the paperwork, as well as a close-up of the earring backings; I was mistaken in that the princess-cut pair does NOT have a screw-on plastic backing. It has one of the original metal backings and then just a rubber backing.

Let me know if you're still interested given the backing situation! Mea culpa!

What is an LT listing? :) I am a total newb at this apparently, lol. Would you like close-ups of the ones you are interested in? I'd be happy to take some!

Thank you so much for your kind wishes!! The people on this site are so kind and I feel so humble in the face of this.

@lala646 I really appreciate your saying that!!

I will see if I can find the stamp on 6 in better lighting and I'll let you know what it is. If I can't, I'll get the jeweler to tell me :)

I should have written ring sizes on there! I'm so silly sometimes.
#19 - 8.5
#28 - 7.5
#39 - Just shy of 8.5

Please let me know if you're still interested :) Thank you so much for your kind words!

@Rubymal Thank you!! I am as ever blown away by how kind people are in this forum. Even people who aren't interested in buying still came into the thread to wish me and my husband well. Thank everyone so much!!

I'll get back to you with pricing as soon as the jeweler is done. I should see him either tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest. Thanks for being willing to wait :)

@Marriedbuteloped I was mistaken about the stone in #32, I'm happy to say! It is cut quite symmetrically. My mother had a sterling silver ring with a fake blue stone in it that looks almost identical to this one, and I mixed them up in my memory. I hope you're okay with the stone being cut symmetrically :)

I took a close-up picture of #32 and some of the other pieces you expressed interest in, just to make sure you see what you are getting. #31 is stamped 14K, but the finishing is not the best. I am not 100% sure it is solid 14K, based on the finishing, so I can't wait to hear what the jeweler thinks! I also wanted to make sure you saw #40 better, as the detailing is quite pretty.

I hope the photos help :) All the pieces need a good cleaning; I do apologise for the smudges. I will make sure all pieces are cleaned thoroughly before they are sent out. Here are the ring sizes:
#24 - 8
#26 - 7.75
#31 - 8.5
#32 - 6.5

@lala646 I am so sorry!!! I just noticed that @Efleon requested #28 first! I do hope you'll forgive my mistake, I feel terrible :( The others that you are interested in are still saved for you, as you were first to express your interest. I'll be much more careful about this sort of thing in future!! I do apologise again :(

@Bron357 It is a bit painful to have to sell them. It helps to hear that others understand how hard it is. I am grateful to you for saying so. This site is amazing.

@lala646 already requested #3, and @Nymf had requested #4. I'm sorry to disappoint you!! :( #1, 2, & 5 are still yours if you want them :) I don't think I have the paperwork for the small round brilliant studs (#5), but I believe they have the same stats as the princess-cut studs: VS2 or better, colour I or better. I think they are 1/3 cttw, or slightly smaller. I'll have to get the jeweler's opinion and get back to you! The St. George Island earrings may turn out to be just gold-plated, but I'll let you know about that too.

Here are some close-ups: of the RB studs so that you can see their screw-on rubber backings; the turquoise earrings; and the St. George Island earrings:

Someone "in real life" off PriceScope wants to buy #21. Is it okay to sell it to them?

Can a mod help me with this question?

@lala646 I took a close-up of #6 and it reads "10K ISRAEL." So now we know :)

@Bron357 I forgot to thank you for offering to sell the sterling silver/CZ pieces on eBay! That would be a godsend; there are dozens of pieces! Up until now I had no idea what to do with them; none of them are my style. We'll have to talk more about this :) Thank you!!!!!!

On Pricescope we can’t exchange personal details so Loupe Troop is the place we go to list our items / contact each other.
Loupe Troop is free to use but Listings scroll off the front page quickly.
Its easy to register and list. There is a limit of 10 listings at one time I think.
People normally request payment via PayPal. If you haven’t got PayPal you will need to register for it. PayPal is the safest and easiest way for people to pay you. It’s an online payment portal. You register and link your bank account and if you like your credit card to it and your registered email address (the one you register with PayPal) becomes like your account number. So that always keeps your banking details private.
Paypal is free to use as a buyer to pay people or it’s 3% plus 35 cents if you’re a seller. Some sellers say “pay using Friends and Family”, that makes it free to use also for the seller. Otherwise you factor the fees into your asking price.
you can contact me through Loupe Troop if you like.
im Bron357 there too.

@Emerald City I am sorry to hear of your health issues :(. I am thinking of you and hope that you are able to fund the surgeries.

@Bron357 Thanks for the tip! :) I do have PayPal actually. Do I make a listing for each person who has expressed interest in these pieces? Is there a way to make the listing "Reserved for So-and-So"? So much to learn!

@Emerald City I am sorry to hear of your health issues :(. I am thinking of you and hope that you are able to fund the surgeries.

You are very kind to reach out and say that. Thank you. :) I have had so many surgeries at this point and have had to learn how to walk again three times. It's getting old, lol. The next surgery will be the fourth time of learning how to walk again.

Okay, I now have a Loupe Troop account! My name there is EmeraldCity. It seems like it would make the most sense to list these things there once the jeweler has seen them and I can price them properly, and message those who have spoken for the various pieces. I'm still new to this and learning the ropes, so any hints or suggestions about how to streamline the process are welcome :)
