I got something from the Sep drop but only received the garnet a few days ago so here they are.

4.405 ct rhodolite garnet from Tanzania


4.235 ct mint tourmaline from Afghanistan


And my bonus gem: 4.73 ct YAG






And in the sun


I’d actually only ordered the garnet and tourmaline, but was accidentally sent the YAG instead of the garnet by mistake and then Gene asked me to keep the YAG and then sent me the garnet after he got it back from his other client (don’t worry, I heard he was going to custom cut her another YAG). So apart from the initial worry ended up totally happy with what happened since I got 3 stones instead of 2 (ikr!!)…

I got to play with the amazing cushion ring Gilded Lane has recently (Gene cut the stone, and the number of expletives that escaped my mouth every time I looked at it...) and FELL IN LOVE, but can’t swing that one right now. When I saw the asscher AND it might actually fit into a setting I already have, I’m hoping to make a pretty fantastic “consolation prize”.

I got it. I'm going on vacation soon so Gene will ship it to me in the new year. I will post photos of it and a stoplight red Kenyan ruby I got from Gene a while ago.
