I'm very sorry to read this.

I did a ton of reading after an abnormal core needle biopsy earlier this year (while waiting for a subsequent excision biopsy), and found my way to the community on breastcancer.org. It may be more than you want to read at present, but just know that it is there.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate you all very much. I'm sorry for those of you who have been through this or had loved ones who did, but glad that you've pulled through.

I keep thinking that I caused it somehow, like if I'd had a better diet I might not have this now. I know it's not helpful to think like that. And it's a treatable disease when caught in time. I'm stressing about both the treatment and the hospital costs. I will be meeting with a surgeon next week.

You can't let your mind go down that rabbit hole. We never get to know the what-ifs in life. You have a hard enough (but winnable!) fight ahead of you--don't add self-flagellation to it! Try to stay positive and focus on what you can actually do. Be an active participant in your medical care, advocate for yourself with your doctors, let your family and loved ones support you, and keep your eyes towards the future. You've got this <3
