Yes, it''s an unheated Tanzanite and is a gorgeous emerald green in some lights. I have another but it''s much more olive green and this one is just yummy. I''ve only ever seen one other this colour and it belonged to somebody on this forum - Zeolite was it you????

Aaahhh... very interesting (and well done, innerkitten!)

Does it show more green if you look at it along the other axes? Or is it brownish/yellowish?

No brown at all. It shows green mostly but does have strong pleochroism so there''s a lots of blue from certain angles and the bottom portion of the stone has a yellow/green undertone that only shows in electric light.
