I'm still going to call it the Gulf of Mexico, and I hope it gets changed back eventually.

So what will happen with all the text books and maps out there around the U.S.? They can't all be replaced. What will kids in school think when the book says Gulf of Mexico but Google says Gulf of America?

To say nothing of signage and other things. Winning!

Idk if you heard about the quest for Greenland to be named Red white and blueland. :wall:

If you mix red, white and blue paint you get lavernder.

So how's bout, "Lavenderland", better yet, Laveland"?

Evertime I think we couldn't possibly sink any lower I'm proved wrong.

Being a bully shows the world nothing but weakness. Is that really what we want to project to the world? Is that the world we want to live in? I’d much rather be a part of something I am proud of. Purposely trying to frighten, hurt and make others feel unsafe is nothing to be proud of. It’s pathetic. It’s possible to be strong and not be cruel.

My wife watches the news from Mexico. Apparently you can’t even give away Coca Cola.
Winning!!!

I still think new name was supposed to be Golf of America. It's a simple enough error to fix with a sharpie.

This is what I am seeing via Google Map in UK:

How about the Gulf of MesoAmerica which is one of the names of Mexico as it was known before it's current name or the Gulf of New Spain as it was also known previously?

Interestingly, the Gulf of Mexico has had many names, including the "Gulf of New Spain", "Gulf of Florida", and "Sea of the North". The name "Gulf of Mexico" has been used since at least the late 16th century.

Speak like a bullshiter and carry a big tweet. How far we’ve come from Teddy

Right, I loved the corruption and going broke paying everyone else in the world's fun money, slush fund while trying to make ends meet at home

I don't understand what Bird Flu, which has been increasing for years now and creating a shortage of eggs has to do with the Gulf but okay.

About coca cola....

Mexico isn't actually "not drinking Coca-Cola"; it's considered one of the countries with the highest per capita consumption of Coca-Cola, primarily due to its widespread availability, aggressive marketing campaigns, and cultural integration, although concerns about the health impacts of high sugar intake from soda are growing and leading to discussions about reducing consumption.

I personally think everyone might want to think about what they're putting in their bodies. Coke can take the rust off metal.

NAFTA definitely brought American brands to Mexico. I’ve spent a lot of time there. Starbucks, McDonalds , Costco….they’re all over.
What my wife saw was local Mexican news showing that people are boycotting American companies. Maybe it was a small group- maybe unsubstantiated. I saw it too.
Mexican president Sheinbaum (sp?) has been very vocal.
Who knows about the report.
But common sense seems to dictate that American brands will take a hit internationally. Canadian boycotts of American goods are all over the news.
Maybe this won’t matter????
As a merchant - it pains me to see our relationships strained. We have sold many pieces and have many friends in Canada….

I don't think they are as strained as you believe. This may be the healthiest relationship with countries we've had in years when all is said and done.

It is very apparent now that any business this country does with so many other countries has been heavily tariffed for America. Why? Leveling the playing field with reciprocal tariffs is only right. Why are we being punished with tariffs and VATS on our trade arrangements and the countries we're dealing with do not have that onus?

This country's debt is a huge problem and I read that if it continues to grow as it is, in 18 years the dollar will be worthless. Isn't that a reason for controlling the USA's losses in the world trade economy? Why are we targeted for excessive tariffs but that is okay?
