It looks a lot larger than 2 carats IMO. I was thinking 2.5-3 Try taking picture outdoors if you have the time. I love EC and the more the better!

By the way, I just saw your gorgeous new Leon-made ring a few minutes ago on the Show me the Ring threat. WOWZERS! That is a beauty........and talk about a gigantic rock! Quite beautiful with the side stones. I think your left hand must get sore from holding that beauty up all day!

What is your ring size? I couldnt find it anywhere...

Hi Dani.

My ring size is about a 5.25, maybe between that and a 5. My ring is a tiny bit big, so I am going to have to send it back to be resized....and I can''t imagine parting with it for even one day!

Just asking because I am a 5 and a 1/2, so getting an idea of how an EC of that size would look on my finger (my EC is 1.75 cts). I have a solitaire ( I think it is 2mm or so) with claw prongs and a pave basket as well. I love my stone, but may upgrade in a few years...

to your size... I love my setting, though, so I will most likely want to keep that...I am so bad, my poor DF...

My suggestion is that maybe wait to size it. Summer is coming, and fingers tend to swell. Also, once you wear a band with your ER, it might fit more snug, aka perfect fit.

If you''re between a 5 and a 5.25, I say wait a bit...

Thanks for the advice on resizing. The problem is that my current ring is actually a 5.5 -- definitely too big. When I had my finger measured in a store months ago they told me it was a 5.25 but my DF got the size wrong and thought it was a 5.5. He felt terrible that the ring isn''t perfect -- but it is to me

just a tiny bit big. It makes me super nervous because I''m afraid of loosing it (still getting insurance set up).

So I need to visit a jeweler soon and have my finger measured again, and then send the ring back to be sized a little smaller. I will probably go down to just a 5.25 from what you advised.

That 1.75 EC looks gigantic on your finger! Very gorgeous. I wouldn''t think you''d even consider upgrading. Of course there''s always a 3 carat.....hee hee hee

. Just kidding....a 3 carat would look ridiculous on me I think, although I am very afraid the "shrinkage" thing will happen to me in a couple of years. I hope not though, DF would laugh at me hysterically and tell me to forget it. I think I will fixate on a pair of 1 carat diamond studs though (1 carat each), I think they''d make a splendid wedding gift from DH.

(he did jokingly suggest that though, so who knows?)

Radiant: I believe that "DF" means "dear fiance," like some women call their husbands "DH" (dear husband). Of course I could have read into that wrong and now I''m using the "D" totally wrong, I hope not.

I was going to just refer to my fiance as "F," because I felt a little strange calling him "dear" but then I thought that some people might think my fiance''s name started with a F (which it doesn''t). So I started using DF. It was easier when he was my boyfriend, because then I just wrote BF.
