Thanks, @MamaBee. So you got yours as is? No modifications? I’m getting it in platinum and hoping to have ruthenium mixed in, if not already, as many PS’ers seem to prefer thee platinum with ruthenium. I’ve always just had 18k WG. My platinum rings have been in bands and rhr. Thanks for you valuable input.

@MamaBee , do you know what platinum alloy the Valoria setting is? Is it mixed with iridium or ruthenium? My SA is trying to find out. Thanks.

Gorgeous stone indeed... I saw it late Monday night before heading to bed, and by the time I logged back in Tuesday, you must have reserved it already.

Glad to see that it was a med-high H color, as the pics did support that and looked really bright in the video too. Great price as well for a VS1 with no crystal inclusions on the Table. I've been looking for a similar stone (G preferred, or very high H), and would have happily tried this one if you hadn't! Hopefully more inventory will start coming in early next year.

@Bruin Ring -Thanks so much! Hopefully you’ll find the right stone for you. I’ve been looking for sometime semi-seriously and the last one I thought I would consider got snapped up over on a weekend. I wanted to try a G but can’t justify the price jump. I’m pretty happy with my current H so I figured I’d try another H.

What setting are you considering?
 
@Dmndsr4evr11 - Definitely understand the price jump aspect of it. Seems like either G and H are pretty close/hard to tell if the cut of the stone is super ideal anyhow, thus I have written off H if it's closer to a G. I think you found a keeper.

I've been also looking semi-seriously as well, but had some downtime the last week or two where I saw one at VC that a fellow PS'er found and now this one. Also previously found a WF 2.1 G/VS1 and 2.1 G/VVS2 priced well that went reserved/sold within the same week too. Maybe the silver lining is that I'm narrowing down the options decently, but not quick enough to finalize (yet). Frustrating that I wasn't quite ready to purchase... and didn't think to hold them and ask our PS community. And with so many other stones recently seeming to have certificates that look like coach's play boards... with X's, O's, lines and triangles.... kinda challenging to find 'the right one' but I guess it's the result of covid (mines closed, cutters unable to work, etc).

The setting will be up to her... I'm partial to a basic solitaire, but she's leaning towards some sort of Pave so will likely be the latter. ;)2 She is leaving the stone choice up to me, and fortunately neither of us has been in a rush given everything else going on in the world right now. Also, the process is much slower now since my last upgrade as they apparently have to send the stone back to AGS for confirmation. They didn’t use to do that. They just check that the stone is valid which takes a day or two then they send you tour new stone. Now they have to wait for AGS and it may take 2 weeks. Ughh!! It will be painful to wait.

I'm so happy to hear that you upgraded to this stone! I wonder why WF now waits for the AGS confirmation before proceeding with upgrade. Waiting two weeks would drive me insane! It used to only be two weeks to receive the finished ring? But this stone is definitely worth waiting for! It is super bright in the hand shot and looks a whole color whiter than H next to it. Are you going with a 6 prong setting this time?

Thanks, @CareBear. The waiting will definitely drive me nuts hahaha. I guess I should ask why but that is their new policy since I last upgraded. Maybe that’s why many people who have recently upgraded their rings have had to wait much longer than before.

@CareBear - and oh yes, I’m going for 6 prongs this time. I posted a new thread about that. What do you think of the prongs’ orientation? @MamaBee doesn’t have her Valoria with the 12 and 6 Clock orientation that I like but the website shows the classic 12 and 6 o’clock orientation. I just checked the Jovyn which I love and it has the same prong orientation. So I’m torn.

So I am going with the Valoria in platinum. My SA confirmed it has 95% platinum and 5% ruthenium. I asked them to keep the standard orientation of the prongs with 12 and 6 o’clock positions but to ensure none of the arrows are covered. I also asked to make the stone set it medium low with the culet showing like with my legato setting. I like seeing the culet and easier to clean I think. I hope it turns out looking good.

How are your diamonds set? Low? Medium? High? @Dancing Fire , I know you have a tension setting but does your wife’s setting show the culet?

@Dmndsr4evr11 My diamond is set low. You can’t see the culet. I have no problem cleaning the diamond. I think it may be because the diamond is a little
larger so the prong arms are widened if
that makes sense. There’s lots of space in between them to clean the diamond. I’m upgrading very soon and planned on getting this setting again in 18k white gold which is my normal preference. I don’t think it will be available for the diamond I may get.
My 2.03 which is in my avatar has the 12 o’clock orientation instead of the 11/1 in the Valoria. I can’t say I like one better than the other.
The prongs are very delicate on
mine.
They did a nice job on them.
I can’t wait for you to get yours!

Sorry to be late in replying - I think your new ring will be beautiful - both diamond and setting! I am excited for you to receive it and am sorry for the wait. I am upgrading my earrings a smidge and have run into the same situation with the diamonds being sent back to AGS. I am told this was fully implemented in the spring but I wasn’t fully aware of it either.

Thanks, @MissGotRocks! Oh, how exciting! When do you expect to get your earrings? Can’t wait to see pics! The wait is always so hard. I thought 2 weeks was bad enough but now it sounds like it will be more like 4 weeks! Please share pics when you get your earrings upgrade.

I have no idea when I will get them. I was told two weeks for the recertification but there is another holiday this week of course so I just don’t know. I will share pics whenever they arrive!
