just got an e-mail from our jeweler Aline saying my the silver ''test'' version of my setting is ready so we can go in and see it ......... wooo-hooo ! BUT I have a blasted dentist appt. this afternoon so we''ll probably have to wait until tomorrow to go and see it.

three weeks from today we fly home ! ohmygoodness !

I sat down last night to try and do my seating - we are not having a ''top table'', we are having a small table for just the two of us and then seating everyone else at round tables of ten to a table. Talk about second and third and fourth choices ! wow ! I had one page of lots of scribbled in, and then crossed out and moved, names when I was done. Even the littlest things take more time and effort than you ever imagine when you start !

two days till my Mom arrives - have to fix up the spare bedroom tonight. can''t believe she''s going to be here - I can''t WAIT !!!!

will let you all know what we think of the ring and hopefully I''ll get pics up here of the real one before we fly home.

but the darned day is CRAWLING by ....... I can''t stand it !

I was wide awake at 4:10AM and couldn''t go back to sleep. It was like being a kid waking too early on Christmas !

I just can''t wait to go to the airport and collect her !!

We went to see the model of my ring yesterday, I LOVE IT !!!! It''s plain but solid and a perfect companion for our knotwork bands. It is leaning a hair towards ''industrial'' looking but I don''t mind that - I think once the stone is set in it, it will look PERFECT !

If he gives it to me before we fly home, I''ll definitely post pics. If not, you all will just have to wait until I get back !

hello ! hello ! sorry I have been missing for a bit. I ended up taking most of last week off to work on the embroidery on my wedding dress. My Mom and I spent every day from 9:30 to 6:30 p.m. sewing ! I''m not kidding - it''s been very slow going. We found this gorgeous thread but it has been a ROYAL PAIN IN THE ARSE to work with. Still, we are getting there now and it''s coming on really lovely. It''s going to look great I think. I''m really really pleased.

WE FLY HOME ONE WEEK FROM TODAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


We get married one week from this Saturday! Everything is coming together so well I''m just feeling high as a kite on pure adrenalin and excitement ! I''m going to see an Aunt I haven''t seen since I was nine years old and meet a first cousin I have never even met !!! Rather than losing numbers close to the day, ours have risen - we have had to add another table of ten to accomodate guests !
I still don''t have my shoes and am still debating about a veil but I found a fabulous medieval headband with a moonstone set in in and my sister is going to weave flowers through it and I''m wearing that (with or without a veil!) and Mom and I found the CUTEST little waistcoat and pants sets yesterday for my nephews and we''re going to give them bow-ties in the same material as the groom and best man''s real ties - how cute is that ?!?!?!!!

It''s a flat band and it''s the same height and thickness as our wedding bands so it will sit flush. The triple spiral is the Newgrange Triscele - Newgrange is a passage grave in Co. Meath - a sacred site in Ireland. I have this triscele tattooed on my back and I asked my jeweler if it could be done on my ring. I love it, he did such a great job. To the Celts, the number three was sacred, it represented all things : birth, death, rebirth - earth, sea, sky - body, mind, spirit. etc. etc. The triscele represents your connection to the earth, connection to humanity and connection to the spirit - all powerful, wonderful things.

we just got back last night and I had to drag my poor exhausted sorry arse into work this morning - awful !!!

anyway, we did it !!!
we are Mister and Missus and I still can hardly believe it !


firstly, let me say that it went MAGICALLY and BEAUTIFULLY but almost nothing went according to plan !!!! imagine that ! tooo funny.

also, I got my professional album back before we left and she was SUPER and gave me the shots on disc but they are still packed in a bag at home, if I don''t get some on for you all tonight (and I took handshots, of both our hands, complete with rings!) I promise to get them up here soon.


anyway, it was full on total mayhem and madness from the minute we arrived to when we got back last night. that is no exaggaration. I am totally wrecked but still going on my adrenaline high from just EVERYTHING about our wedding ..........

so here''s the blow by blow !!!

RUN UP TO THE BIG DAY !!!!

WEDNESDAY
we arrived on the Wednesday morning and spent Wednesday checking with the marquee guy, the pub guy, the priest, checking into our holiday apartment (booked an apartment, my mother''s house was full of relatives and WAY too crazy !!)
THURSDAY
Thursday was spent STILL FINISHING MY DRESS !!! and then going to my sisters for a birthday party (she was 29). Was up on Thursday night sewing until 1:30 in the morning !!!
FRIDAY
Had to get up on Friday at 4:30 AM (literally three hours later and I really didn''t sleep because of nerves and anticipation ... as I knew Peter''s friends (the surprise remember ?) were arriving on the flight) ... anyway, up at 4:30AM, drive for two hours to the airport, meet Joe and Audrey there (who are coming to the wedding) and get our wedding rings from Joe (we bought our rings through Joe who owns Celtic Revival - lovely knotwork bands - but they were returned by customs for some reason and so had not arrived by the time we left !) ANYWAY, got the rings from Joe right there in the airport terminal ! (hehe!) ... then my best pal and her hubby came out (also travelled for the wedding) and I asked her if they had seen Nick (Peter''s son, our best man) on the flight and she says " yep, sure I recognised Brian " (YIKES !!! Brian is one of the two ''surprise'' guys !!) but then she realised what she''d said and started babbling on ... only luck was that Peter was so busy watching out for Nick that he didn''t really pick up on what she had said.

So then, Nick came out and he and I were kinda smirking at each other and then he had this Dad show him where the mens'' room was and I got the other two out of the terminal. Okay, here''s the first thing that didn''t go according to plan - I was supposed to get a second car for them - and we were going to spring the surprise on Peter by having them in the pub when we got down home ... but my second driver couldn''t go and so I had to bring all of them myself (not small men and not a big car !) so we had Nick and his gear all loaded into the car and were leaving the airport when I pulled over to the curb and looked at Peter and said " do you think we have room for two more ??? " and he''s frowning at me and all confused, then looks out the window to see his mates pointing at him and laughing and yukking it up !!!!

yah !!! we pulled off the SUPREME SURPRISE - he was totally stunned and incredulous - it was brilliant brilliant brilliant !!! woooo-hooooo ! so the poor things have to squeeze into the car and they are completely squashed - it''s a two hour drive so we stopped halfway for breakfast and so they could stretch their legs. It was very funny too because at one point I said to Peter " gotcha hon " and he said " I''m not speaking to you " and the three lads broke out laughing and said " that''s exactly what she said you''d say !!"
The atmosphere and energy was great, even though we were all really tired (them from the five hour flight and us from the late night).



wow, I feel like I''m in a marathon story-telling session !!!

so we get to Kerry and they get out of the car and they are staying in a B&B above our ''local'' ( a pub ) called The Abbey. I go in to check if they can bring their stuff in yet (it''s early, only 9

0AM) and then realise they haven''t followed me. I go outside and they are standing there with their luggage. So I bring them in. It''s a great bar, been there a long time, lots of atmosphere even when it''s empty ! The rooms are upstairs and there''s a second entrance OR you can go up by going BEHIND the bar counter. The two guys thought this was the bees knees !!! They were delighted - it was like shangri-la !!! hehehehe.

gotta go ......... will finish tomorrow. sorry ladies.
