Healthy Living Thread

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, darn your premartinated pork shoulder was a disappointment. We usually end up throwing out the leftovers when we don’t like something. Tacos hit the spot. I had an instant replay ala taco salad for supper tonight.

How did your rug end up in NJ? What’d you do for dinner? How’s the revised logo coming along?

I had a rough night. I only slept about 4 hours in the hotel Saturday night, so I was pretty tired. And I completely forgot to take my Sunday morning blood pressure pill. It’s a beta-blocker for the thyroid related rapid heartbeat I have and about 4 a.m. this morning that rapid heartbeat kicked in. It scares the crap out of me and wears me out. Once I finally fell back asleep, I slept until almost 8 a.m. I took today’s pill when i got up and felt better by noon. I checked my oxygen / heartbeat and oxygen was 94 and heartbeat was 101. And it was calmed down by then. No wonder I felt awful. Guess I shouldn’t quit taking that beta-blocker.

Here’s tonight’s almost Super Harvest Moon. By the way, there’s a partial lunar eclipse tomorrow night too.

Happy Wednesday kids!

Curby, I have no idea why my rug is on the east coast when I live in the midwest! We went out last night chasing the moon in the hopes of seeing the eclipse. Apparently we're morons because looked it up and everything and it should have been happening here at 8:44... but we didn't see anything eclipse-like, just a big ol' round moon. Liam was highly disappointed LOL. Has Marty broken any more of your utilities lately?

I've spent the past few days taking pics and moving stuff downstairs. These days if I get four or five listings done with videos it's a banner day, as opposed to the old days when I could easily crank out seven or eight.

The logo is pretty well done as far as I'm concerned. Of course who know what Social Media Mary is going to have to say about it... I realized today the background color is pretty much Tiffany blue. No wonder I like it so much!

I took Billy Ray out for a drive this afternoon and Liam called right after texting me some pics of an estate ring that a local jeweler had send him. He kept asking me questions and I was like, buddy, I'm going about a hundred and five down the highway right now, can I look at this later?!

We had sloppy Joes for dinner and I got all excited about left overs tomorrow for lunch. That excitement was short lived though -- I went to clean up the kitchen and put the dishes in the dish washer and found an empty pan. Guess he went back for seconds!

I need to do some laundry tomorrow in anticipation of the trip on Sunday to go see my dad and his wife. I have no idea how just two people can wear so many damn clothes!

Not much else to report here at The North Estate.

Well kids... my retirement may be taking a turn... I got a call this morning from the lady who runs one of the local estate sales asking me if I could help her out tomorrow and Saturday with a sale. There is a local auction on Saturday morning, but nothing that I'm particularly intent on having based on the photos, so of course I said yes. She also said I could do a little "pre shopping" -- score!!!

I finished taking pics of the three listings today that I didn't get to yesterday, went to the post office and chiro, got a pedi, and stopped for milk at the grocery store. Now I'm doing laundry and contemplating taking a bunch of stuff downstairs. Liam is at a local chamber of commerce dinner (which I narrowly escaped from!) so dinner was ham/cheese/pickle roll ups, wine, cashews, more wine, dark chocolate, and some... uh... wine.

The doggos are going nutso over something under the deck. I don't know what it is, but I sure hope it moves on to someone else's yard pretty soon. Ugh. I think I'm going to go out there and jump up and down a bunch of times to see if I can scare it into departing. Fingers crossed. If my next post is from the ER talking about me getting rabies shots you'll know this plan didn't work.

Hi Kids!

I swear I posted yesterday.

Dee Jay, darn you didn’t see the eclipse. It was quite subtle. Marty’s picture of it is below.

So far, our utilities are still working. A friend of his brought some other kind of little tractor over to pack down the dirt he dug up for the trench. We’ll see if that causes any damage. The guy parked it right by the septic field which made me nervous.

Tiffany blue is why I like your logo. My Kitchenaid mixer is that color. I like it. I figured out how to wear my Tiffany band. I hate to get sizing beads put in it, because it’s Tiffany’s. But my WF band that looks like a mini Etoile band looks fine with it and it’ll keep the Tiffany band from falling off. I wear them sometimes.

Going 105 in BR? I’ve been getting over 100 on the access road. Glad I have a second turn to get in to our division.

Darn the sloppy joes didn’t make it as leftovers. I have that same problem.

Is your dad still in Florida? Have a nice trip.

So you may dip your toe back in real estate. Things should be picking up.

Your dinner sounds quite delicious.

Did you scare off what was agitating the doggies? Our cameras often say there’s an animal on the … I always show it to Marty when it’s him. Because, I think I’m funny.

I painted my nails tonight too. I think it’s the first time I’ve done that since we moved in here. We’ve been here two months now. WOW!!

I spent most my day working on videos. They take far longer than they should, IMO.

Hi Kids!

We headed to Denver early afternoon on Friday for a wedding reception. I am so glad we took the pickup. Traffic was NUTS. This small city girl who stays home 95% of the tine HATES traffic. It took us longer to there than expected too. The reception was nice though. There were about 200 people there, but it was a nice time.

Saturday was usual weekend stuff. Marty got his electricity ran to the observatory location, tweaked our allsky camera and worked on getting the trench he dug smoothed out again. Since our cleaning lady is coming every other Sunday now, I did my usual Sunday laundry on Saturday.

Marty grilled a giant ribeye roast for supper. It was a bit too fatty for my taste, but I had 1/2 a bottle of wine, so that make me care less. And we had a brownie sundae for dessert. We have 1/2 a beef coming soon so I am trying to get the freezers cleaned out.

It was 39 here this morning. WTH?

We binged watch the seven episodes of Bad Monkey on Apple TV+ yesterday. It was pretty good. I was tempted to try knitting for an hour, but my wrist is only better not well.

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, I'm glad to hear the eclipse was subtle because we were feeling pretty stupid! I can't believe you've been in your house for two months already -- time flies! Thirty-nine degrees sounds pretty nice right now since I'm sitting in Orlando where it's about a million and the humidity is Off The Charts. Ugh. Disgusting.

Yes, we're in The Land of the Mouse. Got here on Sunday and staying 'til Thursday. All the usual stuff: Bingo by the pool, chair restaurant dinners, a giant jigsaw puzzle on the dining room table.

Not much else to report. Vacation wears me out...

Hi Kids,

Dee Jay is the hurricane coming your way in Florida? Stay safe. Vacations are fun, but not. Are you well stocked on liquor?

We get our 1/2 beef tomorrow. Yay! I’ve been trying to clean out our freezer upstairs for room. And naturally those little pints of ice cream do take up a lot of room.

I haven’t thought our AC was working for weeks. I hear the fan running, but the house isn’t cooling down. The chilly temps at night cool it off enough the house doesn’t get to 77 or 78. But I had something in the oven tonight and it got up to 81 in here. Marty found the compressor outside was loose. WTH? I put on a tee shirt a while ago, but now I’ve got on a zipped up sweatshirt so it MUST be working now.

Happy 50th Birthday to Liam kids!

Curby, did you get your beef? Liam is going to retrieve ours on tomorrow. I can't believe your A/C wasn't working all this time! We got out of dodge before the hurricane was a problem. A bunch of flights were cancelled based on where they were coming from or going to, but Chicago was OK. Liam suggested we might want to leave earlier and I looked at other options, but our only two choices connected in Miami (??? Orlando to Miami to Chicago?) or Charlotte, and I wasn't sure the situation in either of those places was going to be good. Plus we had a a direct flight and I'll take that over a connection any day, so we stuck with the original itinerary and it worked out. The airport was much less busy than usual and aside from a little turbulence it was just fine.

I gave Liam his gift before he left for work this morning. He was like, oh, wow, this must have been hundreds of dollars. I said, HUNDREDS??? TRY THREE THOUSAND PLUS TAX AND SHIPPING BUDDY BOY. TAKE DAMN GOOD CARE OF IT!!! He's buying a lucite case to keep it in LOL. I had a dream last night that I gave it to him and he opened it. All the plastic compartments that hold the little pieces were sealed shut but the pieces themselves were ratting around loose inside the box. Oy.

There are three orders waiting to be packed and I have a call with Social Media Mary at 12:30. But I really think I need to sleep for another hour!

Happy Sunday kids!

We're having a perfect early fall midwestern weather day. It won't last so I just wanted to write it down here so I can look back some day and remember it happened ha ha!

Yesterday Liam headed to Iowa at the a$$ crack of dawn to get the beef. I was going to skip all the estate sales this weekend but figured why not around nine o'clock and headed to a couple of them over the Wisconsin border and totally scored, so I was of course glad I went. On the way back I stopped at the place where I'm going to consign a bunch of stuff from my condo and set up an appointment to bring things over on Tuesday. I will be SO happy to get al least some of this stuff out of the house and garage!

We went to dinner with some friends at a new Italian place near them last night. It was really good and we had a nice time visiting with them. Their oldest son (age 17) is here from Arizona for a few weeks and is a Porsche lover so I'm going over on Wednesday and taking him for a ride. Then his mother and I are going to Trader Joes. Not sure if we'll hit the one in Madison, WI, or Schaumburg (a suburb south of here) because they are about the same distance.

I took videos and pics for five listings this morning and now I need to clean everything up and pack an order. Liam and YF are watching football and we just ate a very mediocre pizza for lunch.

The excite abounds!

Happy Monday kids!

I've been a busy little bee today! Listing photos, trip to the post office, chiro, grocery store run, quasi successful pot roast in the crockpot, and loaded up the car to take a bunch of stuff to the consignment place tomorrow. Whew -- I need a rest!

Waiting now for the bedding to finish in the dryer and then I'm off to BED.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, don’t you love those perfect fall days? I’m enjoying our weather except for the “what wind”? It’s nuts out here.

Happy belated birthday to Liam. So Liam loved his present? That’s cool he’s going to protect. It Too funny about the dream. I ordered Marty another astrophoto camera for his upcoming birthday, I wouldn’t say he needs another camera but do I ever need another ring or earrings? And that’s what he wanted.

Yes, we got our beef and it took most of our freezer space. I’ll be ordering more tenderloins and sirloins at some point, but we are good to go on hamburger. Good deal Liam picked yours up too.

Nice you got out of Florida before the hurricane. I hated to see all the horrible loss and damage this hurricane caused everywhere. Was you dad impacted? I’m with you on direct flights versus connecting flights.

That’ll be nice to see some of the stuff from your condo.

Dinner sounds fun. I am sure their son will enjoy a ride in BR. I prices out a EV Macan today. Once I hit $100,000 I decided I’d order two. Ha Ha.

We had a busy weekend. Marty decided to start on his bath downstairs. The concrete is getting poured tomorrow for his observatory. I got the club newsletter done and sent off, tried knitting a little bit and almost finished a new book.

As for knitting, my wrist was better so I knit about 25 minutes, then 20 minutes later and tried two rows yesterday. It kind of made my thumb joint and wrist sore so I guess I need to wait longer. Phooey.

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, at least Marty gives you good gift ideas so you don't have to dream up stuff on your own! LOL on the EV Macan at $100k. Why stop at two?! Is Marty putting in a whole new bath downstairs or reworking something that the builder already put there / didn't finish out?

I took two big car loads over to the consignment lady this morning. I wasn't sure exactly what she would take, but when I got done with the first load and mentioned I had more if she was willing she was like, sister, this stuff is GREAT! Bring it on! So I came back and got more. At some point I'm sure I'll regret certain things, but this house is OVER full and something's got to give. Plus, who knows what will actually sell and what I'll end up getting back after the three month consignment period.

There are three things I should queue up to list tomorrow morning before I go off on the afternoon's adventure. I need to do some stuff other than glasses because right now my draft listings are full of stemware.

It's only three o'clock and I'm back from the post office already. The temptation to take a nap is looming large...

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, Marty’s wish list is never lacking for ideas. They roughed in the plumbing downstairs, but that’s all. He decided not to put in a shower, just vanity and toilet. I think he has the framing done. I haven’t gone down to look since he worked on it last night. The builder wanted $28,000 to even do a half bath downstairs, so we passed. The concrete guys have things ready (I think) for the concrete truck to show up. One guy with a utility trailer darn near keeps backing up on top of our septic tank. Grr.

I didn’t get my new EV Macan’s ordered. Strange. My car is almost 4 years old and it’s got a little over 15,000 miles on it.

I hope the consignment places works out for you. Marty sold a few things before we moved on the FB garage sale. I just gave away whatever I could.

I ventured out to get a haircut yesterday afternoon. The place I go is near a high school and the appointment was for 3:30, right after school got out. Naturally, there was construction so it was one lane for a few miles to get to where I was going. I decided I need to get out and drive the Curbymobile more often, there was way too much traffic out there.

My motivation-o-meter seems lacking this week. I did finish another book tonight though and got a batch of laundry done today.

Happy Friday kids!

Curby, I'm a big fan of foregoing things that a developer is going to charge way too much for and doing it after the fact. My hair is at the most annoying possible length. It lays on the back of my neck and flips up on the ends no matter whether I blow dry it with a round brush or not. I'm going it to donate again so I just need to get past this length and then it will lay better, but every day I swear I'm tempted to take a pair of scissors to it myself! BR is a 2013 and has just over 21K miles. I did take it for a hundred mile drive on Wednesday with my friend's son though. One of the two ways I can go to the post office involves going past the local grade/middle/high schools. Depending on the time of day I decided whether to go that way or the other way LOL.

I've had a busy few days! Yesterday my best traveling girlfriend called and said we need to go on an adventure. So we talked through some options and we're leaving for Hong Kong and Da Nang on the 19th. We wanted to go sooner but I'm heading to the east coast next Wednesday so this was the best we could do.

This morning I met up with the cow purse lady and we picked out some hides. When I got back to town I went to an estate sale, but all the glasses I would have considered was already gone and the silverware I saw in the pics was SO expensive I literally gasped. Needless to say I left there empty handed!

Someone bought a punch bowl (dear god... not another punch bowl... !!!) so I came home and packed that up, taking it to the post office right before they closed. Bye bye big big bowl! Liam is at YF's football game, and I'm enjoying a miscellaneous array of food for dinner.

Tomorrow is the local auction. Fingers crossed they don't have anything I want ha ha.

I forgot to say, yesterday Blue rolled in something so foul that he smelled worse than any dog in the history of dogs has ever smelled. When Liam got home we put him in the tub, which none of us enjoyed. Since we were already soaked and pissed off we put Sonny in there too. Now they smell OK... but it won't last I'm sure.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, yay for selling another punch bowl. And how fun to give that friend’s son for a memorable ride. Good plan to skip the school zone, After my ticket a few years ago, I try to avoid them myself.

Wow to your upcoming trip. Marty absolutely loved Hong Kong. Many menus list dishes with chicken, beef, pork, and meat. Good old mystery meat. People were having him buy them copy Rolex watches. They were calling them Rolax, and often turned their wrists green. He got me a copy Dolce Gabbana that was purple and the die absolutely stunk. I still have the Hello Kitty MK coin purse that cost about 35 cents US dollars.

And speaking of smelling, I hope the dogs are smelling better today. That doesn’t sound fun.

Not much going on here this weekend. A friend came over for lunch today and we played cards. I worked until about 4 and have been goofing off since. I had a grilled cheese for supper. And ice cream.

I am assuming Marty will work on his bathroom this weekend. We’re meeting me sister and BIL for dinner sometime this weekend. The thrillometer isn’t going to register much.

I will try and knit for about 20 minutes again tonight. At this rate, the scarf for my niece might get done by Christmas.

Happy Saturday kids!

Curby, I'm down to four punch sets! Let's hope I have the good sense not to add to that number any time soon. I bought a faux LV in Bangkok last time we did an Asia trip and the general opinion is that it's real LV material (inside and out) but the leather trim and hardware are fake. How's the bathroom coming?

This morning I answered a question about a bowl, communicated with a repeat buyer about an order she placed overnight (I have more of what she ordered, I just hadn't washed the additional pieces and inspected them yet), went to the local auction where I spent all of $32.50 and come home with three big boxes of glass, and then ran out to see if I could find some cute things for the upcoming Asia trip. What a disappointing experience. Ugh. Oh well, I'm sure I have enough stuff if I just dig around in the closet a little.

Liam and YF ran out to get YF a pair of Jeans and then we're having sloppy Joe's for dinner. I have to pack up two orders (one is for 30 glasses) before the night is over because USPS rates go up tomorrow and I'm certainly not paying more for the same level of mediocre service!

Alright, off to pour a glass of wine and start browning the hamburger.

Here’s the moon and Venus from tonight.

Moon and Venus Oct 5.jpeg

Happy Sunday kids!

Curby, what a fabulous photo! If I ever write a dystopian novel can I use it for the cover? I'll also give you a cut of the film rights. #DeePlanningAhead

Last night I ended up rage packing that big order. I was DETERMINED to get it all in one box because shipping is just CRAZY expensive. I had to rearrange the whole thing three times, but I was finally able to tape the box shut. Almost twenty-two pounds, and I used Fed Ex because it was over $10 cheaper than UPS and over $15 less than USPS. Fingers crossed on this one.

This morning the dogs went NUTSO because the neighbor's German Shepherd had apparently escaped and was in our yard. I never did really fall back asleep. I got some photos done, I'm on load of laundry number two, and I need to plan on slamming out A LOT of listings in the few days this month that I'll actually be here so I can continue to put up one a day. OMG... so much to do...

It's only 1:45 but I swear there is some prosecco in the fridge whispering my name!

Happy Tuesday kids!

So much to do, so little time!

No idea where yesterday went... This morning I took listing pics, packed up an order, and wrapped a Christmas present that I'm going to leave with my friend in Maryland so I don't have to ship it. When I get done with this post I have to run to UPS and the post office and pick up the rental car I'm using for my trip. I prefer to drive someone else's vehicle on a trip like this because if something goes wrong I just call Enterprise and they bring me a new vehicle and deal with whatever the problem is. I just know too many people who have been stuck in some podunk town waiting for a part to come in for the their car or something else like that. I also need to pack for the trip since I'm leaving in the morning, but I fear that little project is going to lead to more laundry and I just don't have it in me right now!

I'm so confused by the weather... inside I'm wearing a long sleeve shirt, down vest and a chinchilla scarf -- yes, really! And when I went out to get the mail I was sweating. The programmable thermostat has a mind of it's own and no matter what we do it keeps deciding for itself what the inside climate is going to be LOL.

Alright, off to ship some stuff!

Hello! I’m super behind and I’m going to have to go back and read old posts. I knew I’d get really busy at work starting with September, and it’s not slowing down. I’m seriously considering retiring as of January 1. I work with the WV state retirement plans, and I have had so many people tell me not to retire in the wintertime, so we shall see. September was a crappy month all around, and ended on the 30th with the death of my beloved dog Lily. She was ours for 15 years and 7 months, and being without her is so depressing. She made everything better. She came with us on every beach vacation (4x per year), every trip to the mountains, every weekend to KY for family gatherings, multiple daily walks through the neighborhood, walks in the park, car rides…it goes on and on. She knew everybody in the neighborhood, and neighbors have dropped off cards & food and have been calling to check on us, which is very sweet. She is already dearly missed.

I parked by my dentist’s new car yesterday (I’ve been to the dentist 4 times in the last 3 weeks…ugh), which made me think of you ladies. It’s a brand new 2025 Porsche Cayenne Coupe GT. Very, very nice. He also has an Aston Martin. One time I asked if I could take it for a spin and he handed me the keys. Yikes!

Have a great day!

Hi Kids!

There could be GREAT northern lights tonight.

Dee Jay, yes you can use my photo. I’ll look forward to my share of your big bucks.

I hope your 22 pound box makes it okay. Who would have thought FedEx is the cheapest way to ship?

I’m with you on those adult beverages calling your name. I need to stock up on some before the white stuff falls.

Great idea to take rental cars on your trips. We had a flat on our rental at Outer Banks. There wasn’t a local rental place to give us a new car. But they took care of calling the nearest tire repair and we had it fixed in less than an hour. Very nice.

Weather this time of year is like that. So far, I have not cranked on the heat in the morning, but it’s getting close. Then by noon the AC is kicking on again.

Deegee, I am so sorry about sweet Lily. Big hugs to you. Did you have any flooding in your area from Helene? Ugh to so many dental appointments. I hope things are all fixed by now. Nice to see a new Cayenne and fun to drive an Aston Martin.

We’ve been busy. Marty’s birthday was Monday so he skipped the gym and we went out to dinner and watch Deadpool and Wolverine. I’ve been working and some part-time young punk is now full time and making all sorts of changes on videos. He reminds me of one of my former employees. We’ll see how that goes. He’s into click-bait titles and I hate those.

I got to see my niece from Texas this weekend and meet her fiancé. ‘

Marty started on his observatory this afternoon. Something he screwed together already for the flooring was wrong, or backwards or something. Hopefully it’s an easy fix. When he headed to the gym, he left his table saw half in and half out of the garage. Luckily, I saw it before I tried to close the door a second time. Glad those things have sensors.

DeeGee, I'm so very sorry to hear about dear Lily. Biggest hugs to you and Matt. So sad. :cry2: Those people telling you not to retire in winter -- don't listen to 'em!!! Retirement ANY TIME is a GLORIOUS thing. I think you should commit to January. I'll order the cake now!

Curby, I swear I'm jinxed! No matter where I am I can't ever see the damn lights! Illinois... Michigan... Maryland... the planet Uranus -- I'm always in the wrong place when they are visible! There's always something half in / half out of the garage at The North Estate. If it weren't for those sensors a whole bunch of sh!t would have been ruined by now.

Yesterday my friend picked up his mother at the airport and then we had lunch just over the border in Pennsylvania and did a little antiquing. Well that wore us right out so a glass of wine and a nap before dinner was in order, and we went to bed early. Today my friend is cutting the grass in anticipation of the big fall party tomorrow and we'll head out on some sort of adventure when he's done.

The cats here are going to be the death of me! Last time I was visited one of them took my diamond studs off the bedside table and I found him with them under the bed. That was about a heart attack and a half! Last night I got up to pee about three o'clock. I didn't close the door to the bedroom the whole way, thinking the cats were in sleeping with my friends. A few minutes after I climbed back in bed one of them jumped up beside me. Fortunately I was still awake or it would have scared the life out of me. So I scooped him up and put him out in the hall... only to turn around and see the other one sitting right there in the middle of the bed staring at me. Ack. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with cats, but when they startle me like that my fondness meter goes much lower!

I've submitted paperwork for my Vietnam visa pretty much every day after applying. Why they don't ask for everything they need in one list I just don't understand. Info about the flights in and out; a photo; proof of travel insurance... an item a day is not exactly my idea of efficiency. Hopefully this will all get processed in time because we leave next week...

Alright, off to see what our plan is for the day!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay I am jinxed on watching for meteors, I always miss them. Now I’m trying to locate the comet in the evening sky,but it’s always cloudy. I wonder if the cats usually sleep in the room you’re in. That’s lucky you found your studs last tine. We spent the night on a pull-out sofa at friend once and their kitty thought I was playing with him when I pulled the covers over my face and pounced on me. Luckily my face was covered and my eyes were closed. It was quit shocking. Good luck getting your paperwork done for Vietnam. That trip is coming soon.

Marty started on his observatory. Two guys from the gym were here helping him. I made tacos for lunch and a pan of brownies. I’ve been watching TV most of the day and made a few videos for YouTube - my page not work. They are from our allsky camera. I now have three videos on my page and ironically I had 6 followers and I have no idea where they came from. Too funny. I think I’ll put together a few more videos tomorrow.

I need to get the Curbymobile washed before the white stuff flies. The thrill-o-meter is pegging out at 0.

Laters,

Hi Kids!

I built a YouTube page and a few videos today for the astronomy club. We went out for a late lunch. I did get laundry done, but the highlight of my day was getting to see my 35th comet. My fancy Canon camera didn't record it worth or a darn (of it was operator error), but my cell phone didn't suck at it.

It's in the west, after sunset and can be spotted with the eye about 40 minutes after sunset. Binoculars might help find it first.

Marcy- your pictures are awesome! Our night sky is blocked by too many trees. We were excited that we were able to see the lights last week. Matt got a few pics, but nothing like yours! I’m anxious to see Marty’s observatory when it’s finished. I somehow broke a crown in half in September. The new one has been installed and hopefully I can avoid the dentist until my next cleaning.

Dee*Jay-your trip sounds so exciting! I hope you get the paperwork all squared away. My kitties rule the house. They do what they’re gonna do and they don’t appreciate suggestions otherwise. It sounds like your friends cats are friendly at least. I really like your logo on Etsy. Classy! Mom has one of the 12 days of Christmas glasses sets and she hasn’t gotten them out in years. I think I’m going to dig them out for her this year. It would be a trip down memory lane for all of us.

Nothing much going on here. Matt and I decided to take a drive yesterday and ended up stopping and 2 state parks and having dinner near outside of the New River Gorge national park. We walked a few trails, and it seems like a lot of other people had our idea because there were people everywhere. We have been through a drought so some of the waterfalls were just little trickles, but it was really nice to get out and enjoy the day. I am off today, so I spent the day cleaning out my closet. Super fun times. Have a great day tomorrow!

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, I'm living vicariously through you LOL. That pic with the comet looks like the opening scene for a really cool movie!

DeeGee, you should definitely get the Twelve Days of Christmas glasses out this year! If you get done cleaning your closet please feel free to come on over and start on mine... ack.

Well I'm back! Saturday was the party, Sunday I drove to Pittsburgh to see my brother, and yesterday I came the rest of the way home after spending a short night in a hotel in the middle of nowhere Ohio. I had nine orders to pack so I did the eight "easy" ones last night after dinner, saving the 40 piece Christmas dinnerware set for this morning. Ugh. While I was doing that something sold that was listed so long ago the pictures were taken on the dining room table. Fortunately I had the foresight to store it in the box that I used for shipping because it was an odd shape/size, so once I found it I was able to pack it up pretty good. The lady at the post office was NOT happy to see me today! I had to make four trips from the car, even using the big blue wagon, to get it all inside.

There are so many things that should get done before I head overseas on Saturday... I have no idea how it's all going to happen! There's a bunch of stuff in the family room I would like to clear up now that some things have been taken to the consignment place and I can assess a little better. But please, can someone tell me where all came from?! Good god I own a lot of things.... !!!

OK, off to try a little organizing while I'm still motivated.

Happy Wednesday kids!

I'm exhausted! This morning I took a bunch of pics of Christmas stuff, packed an order, went to the post office, ran to Target, Unta, Home Goods and Marshalls, and came home to left over post roast with Liam.

We just put a static frosted film on the sliding glass doors in the kitchen. I have an issue with colors coming through, even though there are white sheers, like the orange pine needles under the trees in the back or when the light gets very yellow in the afternoon, so hopefully this will solve the problem.

Tomorrow I need to continue down the listing path so I have stuff to put up while I'm gone. There's a boatload of laundry, and I should make a packing list for the trip. Seventy-two hours from now I'll be on the flight to Hong Kong and I still have so much to do!

Happy Saturday kids!

Checking in from the Am Ex lounge at SFO waiting to board the flight to Hong Kong. I hope I get really tired really soon because I would love to sleep a large part of 14 + hour trip!

I thought I was in pretty shape with packing, but of course I was about half an hour later leaving the house than I wanted, partly due to three orders that came in and that I wanted to get on the road, and partly because I was not at all organized LOL.

Not much else to report, but will take lots of pictures!
