Healthy Living Thread

Good morning Vietnam kids!

We're in Da Nanang. The flight from SFO to HK wasn't too bad; I managed to sleep for about half of it. Then we had a short hop here. It's been raining like a mo fo off and on since we arrived. Oh well, we're still going to have a good time! My friend just went to the gym. I'm going to be upright and dressed when she gets back so we can go to breakfast. There are massages scheduled for this afternoon and we'll head into the city after we clean up for dinner and a wander around. It's an adventure!

Oh! And in true Klutz Sisters fashion... we weren't here an hour and I slipped down a set of marble steps that were wet from the rain. My tailbone and ribs on the right side are a bit sore today, but it could have been MUCH wore. Oops!!!

Oh no, dee*jay…OW!!! I hope you’re okay. I get so aggravated when people tell me I need to be more careful after a fall. I mean, seriously? I don’t think I’m being reckless when I walk. I dunno. I hope you have a fabulous trip. It sounds absolutely wonderful!!

Howdy Marcy!

I have nothing exciting to report. I went to the shelter on Saturday to pet dogs and I sure pet a lot of them. I have decided I really want to go 2 or 3 days a week after work and get to know some dogs so I can foster at some point before I adopt. Having something to do after work will get me to work on time and get me to leave on time without staying late. I’m bad to stay until 6-7, and I want to put an end to that. Plus I plan to volunteer at the shelter after I retire. Dee*jay- have a blast!!!

Happy I-have-no-idea-what-day-it-is kids!

Deegee, I could NOT go to a shelter and come home without at least one dog! I think volunteering is a great idea though. Bill volunteered with the Anti-Cruelty society when we lived downtown... and that's how we ended up with The Demon Dog and his Crazy Brother Oscar.

We are having a lovely leisurely time! Lots of buffet breakfast, picking up shells on the beach, sitting by the pool, shopping in town, and wine wine wine! The daily spa treatments are fabulous, but damn those little Vietnamese girls are STRONG! The backs of my ankles are sore this morning from whatever she did to me yesterday LOL.

The Hong Kong leg of our trip is being moved up a day thanks to some typhoon headed this way. It might be fine, but why chance it. Being right on the coast with a storm like this coming seems like a bad idea.

Alright, off to get this party started!

Hi Kids! I’m still alive.

Deegee, I hope your teeth problems are behind you now. I can’t believe it’s been so long since I posted. I’m too busy to be retired. I’m glad you and Matt got to see the aurora but darn those trees. Marty is planting trees over the ridge here so they won’t grow fast enough to block our view - we hope. Your drive and walk sound lovely. We’re dry here too. Last I heard the state has had about 800,000 acres of wildfire. Volunteering at the shelter would be great, but you’ll have a hard time not taking them home.

Dee Jay, your trip sounds like a quick one but glad you made it home okay. I bet the post office does hate to see you coming sometimes. I hope the frosted glass works for lighting for your photos. It’s hard to get the perfect light and then the pesky sun moves and you have to shift spots. I hope you are loving your Vietnam and HK adventure. I sure hope you didn’t hurt yourself from falling. That sounds painful. Oh no to a typhoon.

I’ve been working, cooking food to feed the guys working on the observatory, checking out the comet when it’s clear at night and reading a book. My fall allergies are yelling at me so that makes me tired and cranky.

Take care.
Here’s the comet tonight

IMG_1160.jpeg

Marcy-so glad you posted! Your view of the night sky is awesome. I can see the comet there. To see anything here, we have to walk down the hill to the road below to get a clear view without trees. It’s very quiet where I live, so I won’t complain. Knock on wood, my tooth problem seems resolved. The crown that cracked is right above the implant. I guess the implant wins! I’m glad you’ve been busy since you retired. Matt always says he’s too busy to have a job.

Dee*Jay-I hope your trip is going well and you’re taking lots of pics. Daily spa treatments sound pretty sweet.

I haven’t been able to bring myself to go into the office this week, so I’ve been working from home. Right now I’m at the salon, sitting here with hair dye on my head. It’s a beautiful look! I went to the shelter twice this week and haven’t brought home a dog. I’m trying to decide which one I want to take to the park Saturday. One that I LOVED is a pit bull mix. She is so sweet, cuddly and so loving, but I don’t know. You hear such bad things about them, but then again you hear really great things. That little girl wagged her tail so hard, her whole body moved. And she smiled, both times I visited her. I may bust her out on Saturday for a walk. Have a great day!

Happy I think it might be Friday kids!

Curby, the comet pic is awesome! How far along is the observatory? The pics I took in the few days before I left seem very yellow to me, but I think that might have more to do with the fall light than the frosted film.

DeeGee, I think pitties get a bad wrap. A sweet dog is a sweet dog regardless of breed, IMHO. The daily spa treatments are good, but man, these little girls are BEASTS! Almost every day I have to gasp and say "A little bit gentle please!" at some point!

Yesterday we went into Hoi An a little early to knock out some Christmas shopping. I had a silk shirt made for #1's boyfriend. They put something a little stiff in the collar, which I asked them not to, but whatever; for $25 USD and produced in four hours I'm willing to suck it up a little.

Today we're doing more of the same: buffet breakfast, massage (I'm having the warm bamboo roll out with oil!), cocktails by the pool, shopping and dinner. At some point I need to put everything back in the suitcase since we're leaving early tomorrow, but I'm not going to worry about that now!

Dee*Jay-did you get lots of shopping done? I’m not sure I’d be able to pull myself away from all of that pampering and relaxing to go shopping. But I hate shopping, so…

Hi Marcy!

Matt and I went to the shelter again today with the intention of meeting Sienna, the pit mix. She was getting adopted as we were walking in, and I’m so happy for her! The lady who adopted her was there on Tuesday when I was there. She took Sienna home that day for the rest of the week to see how she did, and came back today to adopt her. We walked a few other dogs and might go back to get one of them to take to the park tomorrow. It’s been a month since we lost Lily and I miss her terribly.

Have a great weekend, and dee*jay-safe travels!!

Hello from Hong Kong kids!

DeeGee, I bought T-shirts for Liam and the kids and a couple of other small things, but I'm trying to be hopeful about not having to check any luggage on the way back (I didn't check any here either). I did get a solid silver bamboo pattern bracelet that I really like! I'd love to find one in yellow gold to stack with it, but who knows if that will ever happen. I also got a faux Cartier watch for a friend of my as a joke present for X-mas. He's going to think it's hilarious! I'm thrilled that Sienna got adopted! And there are so many furbabies out there that need a good home, I'm sure you and Matt will find the perfect one.

We are glad that we got out of Da Nang early yesterday because it sounds like things have turned bad. Yesterday afternoon here we had a little snack, wandered around a bit, had some wine, had dinner and more wine, and wandered back. Are you starting to see a pattern?! Today I think we're going to go up to Victoria Peak because it's clear. There are a few night markets and we might try to hit one of those tonight.

OK, better get myself together!

Dee*Jay-your trip sounds so relaxing and fun. When do you head home?

So…Matt and I decided to foster a dog, and then went back today and adopted her. Meet the gorgeous Ruby! She has been at the shelter for 3.5 months and didn’t have one single inquiry. She’s an amazing dog, very gentle and very affectionate. The shelter has volunteers called the bandana crew who work with dogs that are being overlooked, and they make it their mission to get them noticed with Facebook posts, pictures and videos. Shelter staff was so happy today when we adopted her, and the bandana crew ladies who worked with her were there today as well, and they cried. She’s home! It’s going to take a bit to get the cats used to her, but she wags her tail when she sees them. Fingers crossed. Have a great Monday.

Happy home from Hong Kong kids!

DeeGee, Awwwwww -- Ruby is a doll! And she's one lucky dog with you and Matt as parents!

Curby, have you been abducted by aliens?!

Well I'm back. Hong Kong --> San Francisco, San Francisco --> O'Hare. Liam picked me up yesterday afternoon. In my effort to get back on schedule I stayed up until one o'clock this morning packing orders. Then I slept until noon LOL. Everything from my suitcase went right into the washer. And I had to make a trip to Target to get candy because Liam forgot all about it. It's after six here now and I don't think we've had one single trick-or-treater. Some better come or else Liam is going to eat ALL of the two big bags of candy I bought!

I need to head into the basement and finish packing up 60 pieces of Christmas dishes. In a perfect universe that order would have gone out today too... but I just didn't have it in me. Somehow I managed to cut my finger while I was fashioning a big box out of two smaller boxes. Ugh.

Alright, off to snag a few peanut butter cups before they're all gone and then back downstairs.

Hi Kids!

Deegee, I am enjoying the sky view from our new house. It’s nice. I’m glad your tooth is doing okay. Ruby is a cutie. Is she adapting to her new home already? Good for you working from home for a while. I’ve been pretty unmotivated on work this week. I’ll been reading a lot.

Dee Jay, the observatory is enclosed - mostly. Still need to patch from spots in the roof - right now it’s covered with a tarp - do the roll off roof tracks, finish the floor around the cement piers, paint it and other things. What a chore! Sounds like you are had a great trip. Marty got some suits and shirts made on his many trips to Hong Kong, I hope the fake Cartier watch doesn’t turn your friend’s wrist green. Some of the Rolax (ha ha) watches Marty and company brought home did that. Did you get any trick-or-treaters? I don’t miss the hundreds we got at our old house. No one knocked on our door tonight. I have some candy I could give out, if we did get someone.

I was lazy this weekend. Mostly read and watched TV. I did some work both days and was lazy this week. My fall allergies are kicking my butt right now. I tried knitting a few rows tonight, my fingers aren’t working too well on my right hand. I rubbed that spot on my wrist yesterday to see if it yells at me - it does.

We had our first snow this week. Winter is back.

Take care.
Curby

Happy Friday kids!

Curby, you're alive! As far as I can tell we got NO kids last night (if we did the dogs didn't bark at all, and I find that hard to believe since the big candy bowl was on the front porch right by the door). Around ten o'clock I brought the bowl in so the raccoons and who knows what else didn't get any bright ideas, and hid it so Liam would stop eating it LOL.

I need to do some major cleaning up around here because I don't think a single thing was done the whole time I was gone. Then I've got to queue up listings as I'll be completely out of drafts come tomorrow. It's been so long since I've done any I don't even know what I've got lurking in the dining room!

I think I'll also throw some green chicken chili in the crock pot. It's going to be cold here today so it seems like a good idea. No snow yet though -- that's allllll yours Curby!

We had visitors this morning

Dopes Nov 1.png

Happy Sunday kids!

Curby, woahhhhhh... that's some wildlife!

Just got back from the store where I picked up stuff to make crockpot chicken pot pie. No idea how this is going to turn out, but I saw the recipe on Instagram on the plane back from Hong Kong and it doesn't look too complicated. (Famous last words, right?!) No pictures today because it's really crappy here. At least I got some taken yesterday.

I had lunch with my old assistant yesterday and then we went to dinner with friends. By the time we got home I was ready to fall over with tiredness. I think I'm getting back to normal as of today, but there may be a wee nap in my future while the stuff percolates in the crockpot once I get it all in there.

My Christmas shopping is in full swing! I was wide awake from midnight to four in the morning yesterday so I made a list and also ordered a bunch of stuff. This is the point every year where I say I need to go down in the basement and see what I've got.

Alright, off to see where I stashed the chicken shredder and open up a bunch of cans!

It's Wednesday kids.

My crockpot chicken pot pie was a hit. Unfortunately I took a big long nap in the middle of the cooking process with the pot on high so it got a little stuck on the side, but it was till OK. The biscuits weren't really necessary in my opinion since I put potatoes in, but both Liam and YF were in favor so they had it with, and I had it without.

I've been on a listing mission, and yesterday tackled the three big boxes of random pink depression glass stemware I had in the dining room. I made eight sets (some of them mixed pattern) for a total of 58 pieces so I need to get pics taken. It felt good to clear out that much stuff from under the table!

Did I tell you guys about my vertigo... ? Ever since I was in Maryland last month I've had this thing where if I turned my head while lying down, or if I looked up (like rinsing my hair in the shower) I would get dizzy. I mentioned it to the chiro on Monday and he was like, no problem! So he did this thing that involved turning my head in some specific ways and other stuff, and now I'm cured! The whole night after he did that I had a mild case of the bed spins (even when I wasn't in bed LOL), but by yesterday morning (so about 16ish hours after he did it) I was fine. I'll tell ya, I was a chiro skeptic, but so far this had turned out to be a great experience.

Alright, off to get these pink glass pic rolling.

Marcy-do you get many wildlife visitors at your new place?

Dee*Jay-vertigo is The Worst. I had it about a year ago but it was from an inner ear infection. It’s great that chiropractic helped you so much! And the crockpot pot pie sounds yummy. I definitely need dinner ideas because I feel like I make the same things over and over.

I have done pretty much nothing since I posted last. Teaching my shelter pooch the ropes. I’m going to have to post shelter (before) and home (after) pics because the transformation is awesome to see! One really great thing Ruby has done for us is to get us back out for walks every day. My step count is over 10,000 everyday since we adopted her, and I needed a reason to get out and get moving again. Matt and I have both really grieved for our sweet Lily, and Ruby is helping heal our hearts. I've been working from home the last few weeks. I had to go to the office one afternoon for a meeting and I was pretty salty about that. I get so much more done at home without people bugging me all day. They really need to hire my replacement! Have a wonderful Thursday!

I am a firm believer in adoption for this very reason.

Hi Kids!

Yes, I am alive. I’m too mean to die.

Dee Jay, is your Halloween candy gone yet? I was going to pick up a few M&M’s. Glad I didn’t because I’d eat them all. We have another round of snow, but not much. We had about 20 antelope in our yard off and on today. Good deal the chicken pot pie was a hit. Mmm to biscuits and potatoes. A friend of mine makes them from scratch in a regular pie pan. It is soooooo good. Glad your vertigo was corrected by the chiropractor but that is kind of scary. I had a vertebrae out of place in college and a chiro got it back in place. Of course, I enjoy there huge heating pad. Nice to get pink glasses listed.

Deegee, your new puppy is so cute. Hi Ruby! I always got more work done at home than in the office. Too many interruptions. I played retired lady at about 3 p.m. yesterday, I was looking for a snack and noticed the bottle of wine we opened this weekend. I decided that was my snack. And I liked it. You do need to find your replacement. Then again, once your quit it won’t be your problem. My replacement never showed up to get trained. She didn’t do well after I was gone.

Not much new with us. Marty got the roof rolled off his observatory this weekend. Still a lot to do. He’s in Denver right now at a concert. I tried knitting a bit again this weekend. That spot on my wrist has been grumbling about it. I might have to get it looked at just so I can get it fixed so I can knit again.

The window in our master bath is building up so much condensation now that it’s cold that it ruined paint on the window sill. I sent the warranty guy a note and picture, but he hasn’t responded. Last thing I want is to get mold and mildew in there. Or ruin the house. We turn on the fan when we shower. Phooey.

I’ve been reading a lot lately since I can’t knit.

Laters,
Curby

Happy Thursday kids!

Curby, we had dinner last night with some friends and the husband said he'd had the vertigo thing and it was fixed the same way. We were joking that the cure was almost as bad as the ailment LOL. The big window over the front door in this house collects a ton of condensation too. It's got a wood frame and I can't see the bottom piece but I bet there are water marks at least, if not more damage than that.

I've been working on the pink glass these past two days, and still have three more sets to finish up tomorrow. Ugh -- so much of it! Tonight I'm going to wash up a bit of green, and I also have three boxes of amber next up on the docket.

On the way back from the post office Liam called and said he forgot he had a work dinner tonight so I'll be having my leftovers from the Italian place we ate at last night.
Blue got into some nettle type thing today. No idea where he was because I don't know of anything like that around the house. He and I have a date with a metal brush later and he's not going to enjoy that!

Alright, off to clean up the counter and see how long I can hold out before I heat up my leftovers ha ha.

Happy Saturday kids!

I spent five hours freezing my toes off at the local auction today. No idea why I didn't put little hotties in my boots! Only spent $32 but got a set of x-mas dishes with all the serving pieces and a bunch of other stuff.

As I was leaving the fairgrounds I called Liam and he told me to swing into the Culver's parking lot and meet him and YF for lunch. Over buffalo chicken tenders I leaned that they'd been out shopping for new trucks LOL. I did a bunch of x-mas shopping online when I got home, and now Liam and YF are on the way to Costco in said new truck!

Nothing exciting planned for the rest of the night or tomorrow. Thrill-o-meter pegged at ZERO.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, glad the chiro can fix vertigo. Marty turned down the level on our humidifier and that seems to have fixed the bad condensation. It sure ruined paint on that windowsill though.

I saw your new post on Instagram. You’ll be busy between now and Christmas. I need to start thinking about Christmas. We have quite a few inflatable decorations for outside. We’re. Thinking it’s not a good call to put them out here with the high winds.

Poor Blue.

It is getting colder. We had snow this weekend. Glad you got some deals for $32.

If the new pickup for Liam or one of the ferals?

My thrill-o-meter isn’t showing much activity either. Work, reading and doing house chores. Since it was quite icy yesterday morning we stayed home from our usual breakfast outing. Marty spent the day spraying multiple coats of Rustoleum on the rails for the roll off roof for the observatory. He got them installed and working today. One more step toward completion. The roof guys never showed Friday. A lot of the remaining things to do are the detail work.

I made homemade soup yesterday and tacos today. I’ve got my meals covered for tomorrow now with leftovers. It was laundry day.

Laters,
Curby

Happy Thursday kids!

Curby, I've got some big inflatable decorations from the previous Christmas in July parties, but one of them is twenty foot tall snowman and I'm not sure that's a good idea here either! The new truck is for Liam. He needs to get the running boards installed ASAP because I can't get in and out of that thing without a whole bunch of acrobatics LOL. How's the observatory coming?

On Tuesday I ran into the city and saw the cowhide bag lady. I also committed to doing the bookkeeping for an organization that her boyfriend runs. It should be really simple (although I am going to redo all of 2024 because the guy who was doing it hasn't done a good job. Yesterday I went BACK into the city (!) to see my friend whose wife passed away at the end of August. I left here with a bunch of china and glassware from her first marriage that I'm going to sell for him. Not sure when I'm ever going to have time to list it though!

Today is all about clean up. This house is a DISASTER. I've got a load of laundry in now, I've already talked to the COBRA people about switching over my healthcare to the Marketplace come Jan. 1, I'll need to go to the post office later, and a zillion other things. Can someone clone me please?!

Alright, off to empty the dishwasher and start folding clothes.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, the 20 foot snowman sounds cool. I was kind of surprised our inflatables did as good as they did in town. Some of our outside decorations were trashed by wind. They'll become projectiles out here.

Those running boards on pickups are a must. Marty's current truck came with them, we had them added on the last one. Until we got them installed, Marty had to put a little step stool down for me to get in the pickup.

The observatory is crawling along. Marty got the roll-off roof going last weekend. There's not electricity to it yet, but he can use an extension cord from the power box out there to run things. He has a buddy that's an electrician that said he'd come help, but he seems to have lost interest. It makes me nervous not to have an expert here. Marty generally knows what he's doing, but ...

That's nice for you to take on the cowhide bag lady's boyfriend for taxes. You should take over bookkeeping for Marty's gym, his current bookkeeper hasn't balanced the account for a few months. His account can't reconcile with his bank anymore either. Our bank installed a double verification system to log in, which doesn't work for direction connections. Phooey.

That was nice of you to go see your friend who lost his wife and to sell some china and glassware for him.

I was going to head to the postoffice myself. I want to get Christmas stamps. I usually buy them online and have them shipped to me - get this though - the USPS website says it can't ship stamps to my address. WTH????

I've been working, doing videos and reading. I ordered myself a "like new" used lens that got delivered today. It saved me $600 - or so I thought - but it's broke. We opened it and you could hear something shaking the minute you picked it up. One of the internal lenses is moving. I ordered it through Marty's account with them so I am waiting for him to email me the return information. Marty's bought several used lenses from them and they've been great. I might order it now as a new lens. It'd get shipped with better packing.

Here's this morning's sunrise with the observatory showing.

Happy Sunday kids!

Curby, I keep showing LIam your pics (here, instagram, the ones you send me) and I'm pretty sure he's ready to become your neighbor! Still no running boards on the truck. We went to see ZZ Top in concert last night at the local casino and had to take my Audi because I told him I am not getting into his truck any more without the boards! Electricity is scary. My dad is an electrician, but I've never been comfortable around it. I think it was the fear of god he put into me at a young age so I didn't do anything (too) stupid. There was also an incident around 1972 or 3 though that involved me in a wet cloth diaper and my fingers in an electrical outlet. The story includes me being blown across the room and a smoking diaper. I think it is at least partially true -- but probably not the level of dramatic retelling that it generally receives!

This weekend is flying by. I had EIGHT orders on Friday (I don't think I've ever had eight orders in one day, including around the holidays)... and nothing since then. WTF. I'm almost out of listings again (just the ones I'm going to put up this afternoon and two for tomorrow), but I've got two entire sets of X-mas dishes and all the serving pieces, etc., that need to get done. Oy. Christmas wears me out!

Not much else to report. I should be doing something other than sitting here internetting right now... but here we are.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, when are the running boards getting installed? I totally remember how much fun it was climbing up in the pickup. It makes it easy to get out though. Sweet that Liam wants to be our neighbor. There are still some lots open around here. I can load you up with some more china and glasses. And then there’s happy hour …

Good idea to stick to the Audi until the truck gets running boards. How was the concert?

Yes, electricity is scary. We have a friend that had an electrician wire his observatory and it burned down from an electrical short. And you’d think that guy would know what he was doing. At least now, he is shutting off the observatory in the breaker box. I am also worried about our wind out here. Time will tell. Your outlet incident sounds like quite the experience. I am sure the story has been expanded over the years.

Wow to eight orders in one day. You may have a busy holiday season.

I spent far too much time on Facebook, Instagram and X. I swear I’d get showered and dressed an hour earlier, if I’d leave my phone of the charger. And I’ll hang out in our closet in my PJ’s scrolling through those pesky social media apps.

Wow is it windy here today and cold. I ordered myself a space heater for my office. That room is the coldest room in the house.

Not much new or different here. I worked and lifted today. I did pain my fingernails thought tonight. The thrillometer didn’t register any action.

Laters,
Curby

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, STILL no running boards! He keep saying he's going to make an appointment for first thing Saturday, but I have yet to see that actually happen. The concert made me feel OLD LOL. Not only are THEY old, but we were looking around the audience and some of them were beyond old... What does that say about us? :cheeky: If you think of it next time you're on FB would you see if you can find my store page? Social Media Mary has now made four posts on there but no one can seem to find it. Ugh. I had to do my nails last night too because my plan to hold out until Sunday and do them right before the Phoenix trip was just not going to fly. There were like talons and pieces of a few of them had flicked off. Unfortunately I only had my least favorite color left but when I went to order more I found a 35% off sale on the direct website so I got a bunch. Score!

So I gotta say, my store sucks some of the joy right out of Christmas! I feel under pressure to get every holiday themed item I have listed right now. To be clear: This pressure is totally self-imposed... but if I don't get it up now it will be too late. I spent all morning listing some Christmas village thing only to realize I should have separated the pieces out into two different categories so I had to start over. Ugh.

Billy Ray came out of the garage for probably the last long drive of the season this afternoon. I do need to get him washed and put half a tank of gas in before storage, but that should really happen by this weekend at the latest.

Nothing else exciting to report... I'm just a hamster on a holiday wheel at this point!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I found your FB page okay.

I hope Liam gets the running boards soon. Darn the concert made you feel old. Time marches on. Good deal to get some nail polish ordered. I go through spells when I paint my nails and then not.

Crap to listing your Christmas pieces in the wrong category. Can you change them or do you have to delete the listing and start over? I bet it’s a busy time for you and stressful.

Poor Billy Ray getting put up for the winter. I got up to 103 coming home today. I was catching up with a car or I could have gone faster.

Wind continues. We are in the midst of a hurricane here. Ha Ha. We had two snow squalls move through yesterday. My new lens showed up and it doesn’t rattle. I met a friend from my last job for lunch today. She has breast cancer and is having surgery in a few weeks. I hope everything comes out okay for her. It was good to catch up with her though. I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and didn’t work much longer when I got home.

Happy Thursday kids!

Curby, I completely forgot to text you back yesterday (obviously!). I don't know what the issue is with my page -- maybe because I have two, one personal and one business? But I'm glad you were able to find them. STILL no running boards. And STILL no storage for BR. I really regret that... especially now that we have SNOW. Ack! Hopefully I can get him put away this weekend before we go to Phoenix. I was able to fix the listings, but what a PITA. I hope everything goes OK for your friend.

I keep forgetting to ask -- is Marty's biz a corporation? If so, there is a regulatory filing that needs to be done by Jan. 1. If you need the info I'll send you a link to the form. It's super simple, but the account set up is a little circular. God bless the government.

Nothing exciting to report, but I am pretty busy right now. Orders are steady (although I would always like more!) and I got the Canada problem solved (lady asked me to send Fed Ex, even though that will cause some complications on her end).

A new dog sitter came over this evening so we could meet her. She's actually a vet tech at one of the local places. Frankly, she's more qualified to care for the dogs than we are LOL.

OK, off to wash a slew of glasses because I am wayyyyyy behind.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, you have a lot to do before heading to Phoenix. I heard there was snow in your neck of the woods. We still have crazy winds and some rain and snow off and on for the next week. Apparently they are FINALLY going to do the roof on the observatory next Wednesday and it’s forecast to be cold and snowy that day, so they’ll probably cancel.

More government bureacuy? You’re teasing. Marty’s gym is a LLC. So hopefully there’s nothing new there. Thanks though.

The dog sitter sounds perfect. She probably loves animals or she wouldn’t be working as a vet tech. It’’ll be nice to know the fur babies are in good hands.

I do a ton a dishes and it’s just what we eat. Of course, Marty eats for four. I can’t imagine how many hours you spend washing dishes. I sure have dishpan hands all of a sudden. The liquid hand soap I use, added aloe that I’m allergic to, so I am guessing that is what is doing it. Both of them are a mess. If it was well water, I think it would have caught up with before now. My hair sure doesn’t like well water. I might have Marty try a water softener for the shower head. We could put a whole house water softener on, but we’re both hesitant about that. Country living, eh?

I brewed up two pounds of hamburger tonight and froze packets for future supper. I was going to grill them as burgers but it’s so stinking windy out there, I said forget it. I had to open the front door three times today and the wind was blowing right at it, it had a lot of resistance.

I got my space heater working in my cold office this morning. It warmed it up pretty well in about 20 minutes and now that I know it is safe, I’ll go turn it on the morning before I eat breakfast. I didn’t wear three sweaters and use a blanket all morning.

dee*jay-I found your fb business page! Did you decide a storefront was definitely a no go? I have a friend who has a Ford F150 or 250 with running boards, and I still have a hard time getting up into that thing. I’m 5’9 so I’m not short or anything. I have to step in the running board and grab the oh shoot handle to pull myself in.

Marcy-I’m going to be really excited to see the finished observatory! We have had several car accidents here lately, including 3 different semi accidents resulting in fires and damages to the road. Yesterday a semi went off the road and down an embankment near our interstate exit. As a result, speed traps everywhere!! And darn it, I am too afraid to go over the limit. I was gonna say it’s too early for you to be getting snow, but we’re having snow and ice now. What the heck?? Not as much as you, but I still don’t like it.

Y’all think your thril-o-meters register low, you should hang out with me sometime. I’ve been working from home the last few weeks because I’m having a huge struggle with going into the office. People probably think I quit! But I get a lot of stuff done at home so for now, they’re letting me do it. I enrolled Ruby in obedience school a few weeks ago and we’ve had 2 lessons. She’s doing great! I’m really just working on walking her on a leash without dislocating my shoulder and some basic manners. I’m actually having fun with it, and it’s going to come in handy when I volunteer at the shelter after I retire. I’m off to snuggle with Ruby and watch Netflix for a few yours. Have a wonderful Friday!!
