HELP! IS THIS NORMAL? IDJ Five Stone U-prong

I by no means do i have an eye for this stuff but clearly the prong work is messy as some PS have mentioned. No your not being picky. I've worked with ID jewelry is the past and this is surprising. I'm sure if you reach out to Yekutiel he will make right. Please keep us updated.

Yeah second attempt is better but still not perfect...the prongs look kinda thick, lumpy and uneven.:roll2: I’d reach out again or simply get a refund and go elsewhere.

Thank you!! I’m hoping for resolution, one way or another!

I’m relieved to hear this surprises you, based on your own experiences with IDJ. Gives me hope my efforts won’t be for nothing. I’ll reach out to Yekutiel on Monday. Thank you!

This is IDJ's 2nd attempt to make things ring - a 2nd unsuccessful ring with easily visible and multiple craftsmanship issues - and with absolutely no communication to OP between receipt of 1st poor ring and notification 2nd ring was ready for shipment - if it were me, I'd return, get full refund (including all shipping charges), and move on to a more qualified vendor.

I’ve worked with Yekutiel before. There is no way he will let this slide! Wait until Sunday and see what he says. He will make it right.

I’m closer to this perspective, because of the complete lack of communication - I believe that how a company handles problems tells you most, and IMO they didn’t handle the first remediation iteration very well. Going silent on an unhappy customer rarely yields a happy ending!

I confess I take issue with posts recommending that customers need to speak with a specific person to get the quality of service they’re expecting. That might be how it does work, but that’s not how it should work - I hope we all acknowledge that!

OP, if you’re willing to give them another chance to fix this, IDJ should be paying all shipping costs. And no, your impressions are not misguided: They definitely are capable of superior workmanship. Let Yekutiel know what your expectations regarding communication are up-front.

In a perfect world, everyone would approach their work with the same care and commitment. I’m relieved to learn Yekutiel is held in high regard here, and it’s not unreasonable for me to expect a more favorable outcome working with him. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Ugh I had similar situation with my diamond studs. Took two months until I could wear them. First the stone was loose, when tightened somehow entire side of earrings got wonky and when i asked to fix if it was even wonkier and I am not super picky. I politely paid and went elsewhere and ordered a new setting, had it set and prong so loose I heard it rattling lol.

Please let us know what happens! Its the worst feeling ever to make such a big exciting purchase and instead of that joy you receive a new stressful burden.

By the way, are you happy with the actual stones?
