I stole Mara''s picture to show you one set up with transition from diamond to sapphire parts.
okay that got me thinking - and okay so this is tarting to borer on goofy but I have to shareLOL!! Sinceonly about 1/3 of the ring is going to show at any one time, you could in theory put three colors... like red white and blue and not have them alternating but in color blocks okay so maybe that''snot a wedding ring but a fun ring but it''d be pretty coolo to have the colors sticking out here and there....
LOL, my head is going to spin! Actually, I really like dematoid and tsavorite garnets too, but I''m afraid they will have to wait for a pendant project in the distant future...

yes, not enough money and fingers in the world... hehehe my world at least LOL!! My first vote is a plain band ::ducking:: but of YOUR ideas I think just sticking with the blue and white eterinity band...

Thanks cehra for the mara dear thread. I don''t know how I could have missed that eternity band, but I guess I was busy drooling over the 4carat cushion and the split shank 3carat...

If I did the math correctly, if there were about 16 stones in mara''s band with 3.36carat weight, then each stone is approximately .21carats (diamont weight). A pretty respectable size on her hand, and it would look a tad bigger on my small 4.5 hand.

Wow, I really like the half sapphires on one side, half diamonds on the other.

That is really cool and very creative. Definitely like having two rings in one. I wouldn''t mind the spinning, and if a little color peeked around the corner, it would just attract attention to it, so people could notice how lovely it was!

Thanks :) looks like the half-and-half eternity band has pulled into the lead.

Hi - I think you are in LA too - I am going to have to post when the gem show comes back to SM again (early Dec) - maybe MaxSpinel and you and any others in the area will like to come look at all the beautiful colored stones!

Heh Heh - just in time for the holidays!

oooooh, this sounds like fun! I do love colored stones and I could use a pendant...... Keep me and other LA pricescopers informed as to when the show will be in town.

Food for thought - I was thinking about your ring at the gym today, and thought if you were worried about the spin thing, then maybe you would want to consider instead of half and half, doing something like 5/8 diamonds and 3/8 sapphires (or other ratio - 2/3 and 1/3 or whatever) - then when it is on the diamond size there is no doubt that it is diamonds, then when you decide to wear it as sapphires it would have a couple of blingy diamonds on the sides? Add a little extra sparkle?

not a bad idea :)

I really think any combination of diamonds and sapphires will be pretty, there is something about the colors white and blue together that is so pretty.

I was looking at some mm threads and I came up with these inspirational pictures. How beautiful is his work?!

another beauty, his craftmanship is incredible! He could definitely execute this project to a T.

Hey if you considering MM you''ll be better off asking him for ideas, as a true artist he might come up with something we all never thought of.
Each of his rings is a song proportions sing to balance with a tune of a great taste.

You are absolutely right, and he would definitely be able to dell me if something won''t work. I would trust him and leon anyday.

I agree... and at first I liked your idea of the w''s instead of u''s but I think it might be too much metal - a detail lost on such a small scale - I really liked it on the inspiration ring too but that''s like a 3 carat stone isn''t it? On .2 stones it might be hard to see and having the light on the sides might be a lot better for it. JAT!
