The width in the CAD won’t match the final width.
The width in the CAD represents how the shank will be cast. Finishing and polishing will remove metal, rendering the final shank width anywhere from
0.1-0.5mm thinner.
There’s really really really no point to nitpicking dimensions within 0.1mm.
Thank you. I had assumed that. I’m counting on a bit of loss. A .1mm loss seems understandable but a .5 mm loss seems excessive. I can’t imaging him casting for a 2.4 or 2.5mm shank and ending up with 2mm or less. If that was the case, I would assume he would cast to account for that. Now that I think about it, @Cerulean did tell me that her width of 2.8 mm ended up at 2.5mm. Seems like it would be a bigger deal on a pave shank.
