I viewed some of Megan Thorne’s pieces in person today and was absolutely wowed by them. Her designs are gorgeous and the craftsmanship was impeccable. I’m definitely going to set the stone in one of her settings. Unfortunately the jeweler didn’t have the evergreen setting in store but she had a few others. Sounds like Megan Thorne can combine aspects of a few of her settings and create something unique for my stone. I’m going to send it to her and see what she thinks as far as prongs vs bezel. I might even do some warm side stones. I’m wondering if I should go through the jeweler or work directly with Megan Thorne
I love the picture frame! I am waiting on some emerald cut diamond in picture frame earrings!
I’m officially obsessed with the picture frame but it’s not right for my old mine. The one at the jeweler was a 1ct white sapphire center and I just happen to have a 1 ct white sapphire sitting in my safe! I’m trying so hard to calm down and focus on one project at a time but I definitely need a picture frame ring for my sapphire and a picot pendent for my .50ct transitional.
Those are super cool. If you can work with her directly I bet that’ll be smoother than having a go between. Would just make sure she has whatever insurance you need to feel comfortable with (same for the jeweler if you go with them instead) to cover the small small small chance something happens during setting. Woot! Standing by for pics!
I love that evergreen setting as a complement to the personality of your omc ....
The color of the metal doesn’t seem predictable in whether it’ll make a difference or not... sometimes it totally changes the look of a ring ... did you try wrapping it with foil/metallic paper ?
I got a white gold basket to play up the color of my light yellow stone and honestly didn’t feel like it made much of a difference , here’s a photo fwiw
congrats!!
I am getting the same setting but I choose the yellow prongs, I love this so much!
