Help with an inherited ring

I really can’t thank all of you enough!
I now look at it with a completely different mindset. Now I know I will enjoy wearing it!

I don’t have anything to add to what others have already said except that you should get it insured!!

Same as others have said, it is an objectively gorgeous ring, with huge sentimental value. Don’t let criticism (actual or perceived) diminish your enjoyment of it!
Also, (someone probably said this too) a lot of pears have bow ties, a lot of big diamonds have inclusions, and most people don’t know much about diamonds/jewelry and don’t pay that much attention.
99.99% people will just see a huge sand BEAUTIFUL ring.
Wear it in good health and don’t give it a second thought!

It’s an amazing diamond, classic classy ring. Every time you look at your ring, remember how much your Grandmother loved you, that this was given to you. Thoroughly enjoy it and I second it, get it insured after you get an independent appraisal.

Was having it appraised yesterday and they suggested I send it to GIA for an evaluation. So that’s what I did!

That's a beautiful ring! It's huge and the setting is beautiful. I love big, fat pears.

I look at other people's bling like its my job (always at a polite distance and discretely) and I very, very rarely notice any inclusions. I'd have fingers left on one hand if I counted the inclusions I've seen and I've been looking for decades. Enjoy and don't worry about it!

Your diamond isn't flawed; it's a pear cut. Pears, ovals, marquise, and radiants all have bowties. It's just part of the cut. Your ring is very pretty.
