Equ - SO sorry to hear about the loss of your horse!

((hugs))

Blen - I was in the Royal Air Cadets for a few years and my brother is in the Canadian Navy... So yeah, that does sound military! Hurry so you can wait around...

Congrats to you''re FI for graduating!

Equ, I''ve never heard of that idea, but it is so cute. I think it''s a great way to remember Taz, always.

Today was a smooth day at work, thankfully. Yesterday was insanely stressful. Today made up for it. Yay!

I''ve been working on a baby blanket for my cousin''s baby blanket here lately. Having something on my mind other than being engaged has helped a good bit, I think. The baby shower''s on Sunday. I''m not sure I''ll be done, but I''m sure going to try!

Mandarine, is your air working again now? I''ve been thinking cool thoughts for ya!

I think im getting engaged this week on vacation!!!! LOL sorry to just blurb it out but i didnt know where else to post it..lol and im really excited but i dont want to get too excited..because I can be wrong, but ive been getting signs that indicate that it will happen. I really hope it happens, but i wont be mad if it doesnt... and i will still totally be surprised if it does... i have to stop thinking.

Back from vacation had a wonderful time!! it was absolutely beautiful

unfortunately no proposal

Aw, I hope you''re not too disappointed, Evie! I''m glad to hear you had fun in vacation!!

Nahh im okay with it surprisingly... i know its gonna happen

yeah we had a great time thanks.. AND we saw movie stars alll over they had celebrity poker there we saw matt dillon, and bill baldwin and steve from 90210 LOL

I''m glad you had a good time, despite the lack of bling, Evie. I''m sure it was great! :)

I''ve been an *emotional wreck* the past two days. I''m happy, I''m sad. I''m excited, I''m numb. It''s pretty crazy, really.

On a good note, I''ve not slidden into being hard or excessively inquisitive of Paul, though. For that I''m glad. I am having a bit of a hard week in that area, but it''s manageable. For now.

Aw Fisher...I hope you''re ok. We''re all here if you want to vent.

I''ll bring the ice cream and potato chips. (My personal comfort foods. Sweet and salty.)

*Hugs*

Jas

Thanks Jas. I''m doing okay, I think. It''s just hard dealing with the pendulum of the upswing of excitement, only to later slide back to the letdown of knowing it''s not time yet. I''ve been craving something ALL day, but I don''t know what it is yet. Go figure.

Ice cream does sound appealing, though.

Another happy note is that tomorrow is Friday! AND payday. AND I''ll get to see my Paul again. And my cousin is having her baby shower this weekend. Gosh, I have to get on that blanket making process! It''s getting closer, but still, I have much work to do.... and less thinking on my *woah is me* crap would be good.

I hear you...the waiting, even with knowing it''s inevitable, is tough. I always allow myself an hour (ok, maybe 2) to wallow, then that''s it.

Do you and Paul have anything fun planned for this weekend?

So, a bit before the time comes, but Paul and I spend quite a bit of time discussing possible names for our children. He tends to be more of a *traditionalist* while I prefer more original, uncommon names. *Being a Jen will do that to you.* Anyway, there was just a story on the news about the most quickly growing name for a girl: Nevaeh. It''s *heaven* spelled backwards. How cute is that?

Anyway, surprisingly, Paul recently told me he thought Callie would be a cute name for a girl, after my home state. I thought that was just precious, since Cali will always hold a special place in my heart. That''s not traditional at all, either. He''s comin'' around! Yay!

Okay, back to the baby blanket making again now.

I saw that article -- I do love that name.

Cali is so sweet! Girl, he''s so close (again, guy-close, girl-close)

Have fun with the blanket makin''

Plans this weekend are to meet at my Grandpa''s farm in NC. It''s always a bit bittersweet, as I miss my dear grandpa very much, but I also *love* to walk in the house for the first time and whiff the scent of him. He lived there, in the house he built for his family, for over 49 years, and the walls are seeped in his clean scent. It can be emotional. It''s also good when we''re there, because it''s in the country, close to my extended family, and it allows for a relaxing time rather than a lot of running around. My cousin is having her baby shower on Sunday, so that will be fun for me, and it will start just about the time Paul will have to leave to head back home, so he''ll be there long enough to get some cake, but not too long to have to listen to the *ooohs* and *aahs.*

Okay, now for real, I''m going to work on this blanket I have scattered all around me....

I really like those names!

This weekend sounds like it should be a lot of fun. What is the blanket going to look like? I bet that she''ll love it.

And wanna see something really exciting? (For me at least.
2.gif
) Look at this.

Oh Blenhiem! It''s so pretty! When do you get it? Sunday? Oh boy! That''s only two days away. Sunday early, I hope! I''m excited for you! I wanna see it on you, girl!!

The other name we really like for a little girl is Elizabeth, and I saw that your name is Liz. We''d probably call her Beth, though. But I prefer Callie. I''m so impressed that he thought of that. He''s been thinking of baby names. How cute is that? We''re not even married yet! I love it!! We''ve thought of Elizabeth Suzanne and Callie Jane (Sue after my mom, Jane after his mom--Each of their middle names). I''m not a big fan of Jane, but Callie Jane isn''t too country sounding. And I just adore his mom.

Did I tell you guys that she bought me three outfits and a pair of sandals this past weekend? Her husband surprised her with money for Mother''s Day, so she used what she''d saved for herself a shopping spree for me! She said she''d never gotten to shop for a girl before. How sweet! One of the outfits in particular is just darling. It was such a sweet surprise. I''d recently picked out some really cute fabric to make a purse, and I got the same for her and made one. She''d been admiring mine for months, and when she got her own *I made them at the same time, but wanted it to be a surprise for Mother''s Day* she was SO happy. I just love her. And she and her husband raised such an AWESOME man. They''re true blessings.

Yeah, I''m getting tired of the blanket thing. I''m doing squares. Bunches and bunches of squares. I hope to finish them tonight so I can start crocheting them together tomorrow.

Think happy thoughts for Paul''s car. It''s been doing *G*R*E*A*T!!!*

You are so talented with all this sewing and crocheting, I''m jealous.

The names you like are very sweet. I will have the hardest time trying to pick names for my kids. Teachers tend to veto the names that remind them of little monsters that they had to teach in class. I know I will never have a Nick, a Kara, a Travis, or a Kyle.
2.gif

Equ that is so funny! I really would like hebrew names for my kids so they dont have two sets. A lot of Jewish people these days have an "english or american" name and their hewbrew name. I love so many of the old names. For the longest time I was in love with Derorie and Mackalah!

Equ, I hear you on that. Being a social worker who works with little hellions will do the same thing. Paul has vetoed Seth, Andrew, and Jacob. I have vetoed Samantha and Jessica. He *dislikes* Seth very much, but I just *love* it. Now I'm trying to convince him that Elijah is the bestest name in the world. Eli is the cutest thing to me. So far, no deal. But, we have LOTS of time to play around with the name game thing.

*The last TWO times Paul's tried to make it up to me, his car has cut a fool. Pretty, pretty, PRETTY please think *pray* happy thoughts that it'll work like a charm this time. I want his car to be safe, for him to be safe, and for nothing else to cause a stumbling block on our journey toward marriage!* Thanks, guys!

Equ, wanna see the blanket I made? It's a violet and white checkerboard type thing. It didn't come out perfect, but it's cute. By the way, which braid did you pick for your braclet?

While I''m at it with the posting of silly things, let me show you guys the ring we *made* last weekend. I was surprised with how big the 1/2 carat *paper* diamond looked on my hand. Makes me so excited to get the *real* thing! Eeek!

paperdiamond.JPG

Well grr, that didn''t work. Let me try a different one.

Heehee... I feel silly posting that. But it did have me pretty excited. And Paul even asked me to do it. So, it was fun. Anyway, I''m off to go to my Grandpa''s farm.

I hope you all have a good weekend. I bet when I come back, there will be *I''m engaged* stories to read around here. Yay! I love finding those! Happy weekend!!

Oh that blanket is so cute! And how silly with that ring! Hehehe how did you *make* it? I wish I could use the name Seth but alas it is an ex of mine and I am so not going there! I think its adorable you two are already talking baby names. If I did that with K I think he would flip! Have a great weekend fisher!

Blen -- LOVE the ring!! Oh I bet you just cannot WAIT to have it "back" on your finger!!
1.gif

Fisher -- the blanket looks adorable (and soft!)
9.gif
I hear you about "jen''s" -- I''m one (incidentally, I have an ex named Paul
20.gif
) So my kids are Gabriel Raine, Donovan Skye, and Adrian Zane. Yeah, Zane shoulda been "Leif" but I lost that "battle" (sigh). I figured one "normal but less common" name with one unusual name gives them options, plus I have come to realize they have built in stage names!
2.gif
M and I have talked baby names and he has a more traditional approach. hmmm. FWIW, I love the name "Jane" My nickname used to be Sweet Jane though so old hippie here just loves the name
2.gif

Anyway, I think it''s great you are playing the name game -- such a comforting sign during all this *waiting*!

sk8terjen I love your boys names! They are just beautiful!

Funny note about my name - Amanda. My parents wanted a normal name that wasn''t too common for me. They also were thinking about Emily and Molly but chose Amanda. After I was born a friend of my moms was showing her a current babyname book from 1982 (my birth year) and it turns out Amanda was the 2nd most popular name that year
20.gif
Apparently my parents were looking at a 1967 edition. I used to hate my name but have grown to love it ultimately. In 5th grade when I started going by Mandy though, one of the class bullies found a book in the library call Mandy the Monkey. About a science monkey named Mandy they had trained to acct human. Go to the potty, eat with utensils etc. That was torture! OK so seriously my paper break has last much to long! Back to work
39.gif

ilovesparkles, you may have the best name stories ever. My name, Jackie, was given to me by my parents because it was uncommon but not too unusual. I am a teacher, too, and my potential name list gets shorter and shorter every year. No Ben (which is sad because I used to love that name), Alex (for a boy or a girl), or some other common names. Sigh.

BF has already decided his first son will be nameds Jackson, which I like. I asked him what he would do if he had only girls. Talk about a blank stare, like his "boys" would launch the Y part of the chromosomes. But I digress. LOL I also like Ezra and Robert. For girls, I like Alicia (after my dearly departed grandmother, Alice) and Yvonne.

However, I refuse to have a litter, so eventually that list will be pared down somewhat.

Aww thanks jas! I think I read on the other thread you met your bf on Jdate? So I would assume that means you are one of the tribe? Do you plan on having english and hebrew names for your kids? I am always curious because I just don''t get why anyone would want to give their poor kid two sets of names you know? Sorry if I assumed wrong and just totally lost you lol!

The blanket you made is so cute! And that is the perfect size diamond, don''t you agree?
2.gif
(I''m biased.)

Miss Crafty over here has inspired me to start knitting again. And by again, I really mean that my last project was about two months ago, but still. I have about seven inches of a little shrug sweater done, and the rest should be done by the end of the week.

Very cute blanket, Fishie.
2.gif
I love the size of the diamond you are interested in, it''s a good fit for your hand.

I''d say a big NO to Eli, namewise, as one of my little monsters this year is an Eli and he is a piece of work. I have always liked Catherine, Morgan, and Laurel for girl names, and FI likes Catherine a lot too. I don''t know about boy names though. FI is a Chris and I am a Courtney, so it would be quite adorable to go with all "C" names. What other "C" names are there for boys? We can''t use Conrad or Cooper, already taken in the family... I like the name stories for you Ladies. My name (Courtney) was inspired by a former Miss America (Courtney Gibb in the 80''s, I believe).

I have not picked a braid style for the bracelet or horsehair yet. I am still having a really hard time with this, but not crying as much now. My other horse is still looking for his Taz, and that breaks my heart, but he seems to be settling a bit which is reassuring. I poured everything I had this weekend into going out on Friday with another engaged couple and prepping today for my sweetie''s open house for law school graduation, and that helped me. Many of his relatives did not know about our engagement until today and that made the celebration extra special. I got a nice card and a corsage to wear today as the bride-to-be from my mom and daddy. We also went out and looked at a reception site earlier in the day. Keeping busy helps me not focus on my recent loss, so I plan to throw myself into school stuff tomorrow and stay occupied.

Equestrienne,

As far as C names -- Charles (let''s just say I''m partial to that one), Curt, Curtis, Caleb, Conrad...it might be fun to check some baby name sites.

Neat tradition!
Jas

Equ,

Caleb is my very most favorite baby name, but it was DENIED long ago by Paul. Oh well. There is also Cody, Colby, Cane, Conrad *not a fan of that one,* Craig, Curt, Curtis, Cademon, Cade, Cory. That''s all I can think of for now. I think the theme thing is cute. My brother and I have all three initials matching. Funny, though, it wasn''t planned. My brother discovered it when he was writing my name next to his name when I was first born.

Thanks for the compliments on the blanket. Heather opened it today and just loved it. She rubbed it over her belly for her baby (Devon) to *feel* how soft it was. She''s half crazy, just like me. Runs in the family, I guess.

Had a good weekend. Everyone else?

It did start off with *Drama* though. I know I sound like a broken record these days, but guess what happened? Yep, you guessed it: his car went nuts again on the way to me. Happily (*I''m doing some serious thanking my God here, people) it has been fixed. Like for real this time. Turns out I was right and the hose that was leaking oil IS what was causing the sparkplugs to short out. Anyway, happily, again, it was less expensive than any other repair, and should not have effected any PLANS he has for June. He was a wee bit later to my Grandpa''s than planned, but none the less, it was a great weekend.

You know how simple moments with the one you love stick with you and just electrify you with the knowledge that this person is the one who you love to spend time with, come road trips, vacations, shopping sprees, movies, or just sitting around laughing and talking, playing cards, or walking hand in hand in a pasture? This weekend was SO that. Anything, I mean anything, is more fun, and more of a blessing when I get to experience it with him. I cannot wait to be married. Can''t wait. I mean, I have to wait, but I''m eagerly awaiting.

Ilovesparkles, as for my *paper diamond ring,* we found a place where you can print off a life-size graph of diamonds, so you can compare size by the carat visually, which I was having a hard time with. I saw the 1/2 carat, made a comment about wondering what it''d look like on my finger *even though I''d tried them on before* and he said, jokingly, that I should cut it out. That''s all it took. So I did, and taped it onto a ring that I have, so I could imagine the size on my finger. Just being silly. But I did think the size looked super great on my hand. I''m so excited. He laughed his butt off when I told him I posted those pictures on here. Said he doubted that was the kind of bling you''d all be looking for. Oh well. I can imagine there being plenty of sparkle in that little paper diamond!
