It was just too good to pass up.

As for needing a ziplock instead of a Hefty bag, well, that would hold one side of my tush. I haven''t been in the 90''s since my senior year of high school! And compared to all the girls around here trust me when I say I need to cover up. Don''t people like to eat anymore?!?!?!

me me me me!!!

I''m a bikini girl too. I have a couple from Victoria''s Secret and they''ve held up pretty well. I like the ones that tie on the sides too because the adjustability thing is good when you''ve put on a couple of pounds! I am also ashamed to admit it but I got my best and most favorite bathing suit from...OLD NAVY! It was ridiculously cheap--like $12 for both pieces and it''s just great. It''s brown with a pink flower pattern--can''t really describe it but it''s super cute and has lasted me 2 seasons so far. I also love to go to TJ Maxx and scope out all the bikinis for $15. You never know what you can find and I refuse to pay big bucks for such tiny pieces!

The 3 string bikinis I got from Newport News are really great and only cost me $15 each. Two of them tie on the sides which is great.

Because I am a little bigger on top than the bottom, finding a bikini that covers enough is my dilemma...

I have a smaller chest and the sliding tops don''t work for me either. I figured you had to be a bit bigger chested to wear them...but apparently, they''re not secure enough for anyone!

Mat, I really like those polo swimsuits!

Hehe nope it''s not about big chested, as I tried one and it can''t contain the twins at all....

It seems like the girls with the fakie boobies aka they don''t go anywhere or do anything are the ones for whom string work the best for, aka my gf has a fake pair and she looks great in a string. I also have another friend whose seem to work great in a string, they are larger but for whatever reason they seem like they stay put.

I need more material and thicker straps...hehee.

What are your opinions on swimsuits with skirts, like tankinis or a l.l.bean swimdress? Am I going to look like my grandmother??
I''m going to a resort in greece on the beach with lots of pools, and I love to swim. So I''m going to be spending a lot of time in a suit. And I don''t want to look like an idiot.

My problem is not that I''m overweight and I''m body concious. I may be a size 12 but I''m a very curvy and well proportioned 12.

No, my problem is bumps. No matter what I do, no matter what product I use, I always have horrible red bumps in my bikini area. Big, bright red bumps. no matter what. So I basically need to have that area covered, but I''d rather look like a pretty 30 something than a frumpy 80 something.

What do you guys think? swim skirt = frumpy? Be honest.

If the only reason you would opt for that is bumps, would you consider something like these hipster shorts (from JCrew) below? If I were you, I would get something like these (with a bikini top or tankini top) to look a little less frumpy. I would think that would be enough coverage for you? Otherwise, I think I would wear board shorts over my suit and just swim in those (my friend does this and it looks totally normal), OR my fun new discovery: a board SKIRT! pictures in next post...

Ebree- I think it has to do with the shape of your breasts I am a DD and the bandu top looks cute on me (IMO) and I use the straps that come with it. I got both from Marshells last fall. They are back on Polo and Nordie''s this year though. I have a friend with implants and they looked odd on her because you could see how high and round her chest was w/o support which made it more noticeable that her chest was man made.

Wren- Try to go and find a place with little shorts, Albi posted some cute jcrew ones but other brands make nice ones as well. Also you might try going to a swimsuit store often they can help you find your ideal suit.

Those are really cute.

I''d do the shorts that were posted or even a bikini top with one of those swim skirts...verra cute! I am not a huge fan of tankini 1 pieces or swim dresses, that''s what my mom would wear!

Darn you PS enablers! I just ordered a new swimsuit last night! My favorite website is venusswimwear.com because of the mix and match tops and bottoms. Their prices aren''t cheap though.

I really like the hipster short idea. I would not recommend ordering a swimsuit with a skirt online. If you''re still interested in that idea, please try it on in person. I once found on that looked cute on the hanger, but it looked awful on me when I tried it on, because of exactly where the skirt''s hem hit. My friend tried the same bathing suit on and looked really cute. (Lesson: not necessarily frumpy, but probably on most people.)

Matatora''s POLO model is so freaky with her two bellybuttons

So those of you with C/Ds like mine or even DDs, what is your preffered top?

Bandeau - I agree with Mara, uni-boob
Halter - good support but too much clevage for a ''PG13'' outing
Bra style - boring but functional as long as it''s adjustable
Triangle''s - look cute until you reach for your beer and then ''POP''

Thanks for your help, Monarch! I measured my torso, and it seems like JCrew''s long torso is the perfect size.

I was wondering if anyone had opinions on this swimsuit. I want a one-piece to wear when I swim laps in, and I''m comfortable swimming laps in halters, but I was just wondering if it looks too much like it''s meant to wear when lounging around.

In some ways, the best one for what I want is only available in long-torso with D-cups, so that''s not appropriate for me. Is this one too plain?

75075_PK6133.jpg

Blenheim, I think those suits are both really cute! I don''t think the top one is too "lounge around only." As long as you have the top securely knotted you should be ok to wear it swimming laps. The bottom one is really basic, but you can always dress it up with fun accessories, like a printed sarong, fun flip fops, a cute hat, etc. Does the back have criss-cross straps or anything that might add visual interest?

Also, you can get one or two now, and then wait until August...the long torso ones always go on super sale. Oh, and I wanted to tell you to order a size up from what your normal size is if you''re at all "hippy," because the legs are not super high cut and the binding can "cut in" if you don''t get a large enough size. You may not have that problem, but I do!
35.gif

All that the website says about the second one is that the back is high. This one has a criss-cross in the back, but they don''t give the option of long torso and normal cups:

I also like this one, but I think that the first halter I posted is a little more tummy-friendly:

68416_PK6133.jpg

I think I''m going to go with the ruched halter. I think that it''s really cute for a one-piece. And thanks for the tip about sizing. I''m generally about a size larger in bottoms than in tops, so I''ll go on the larger end of those.

I like the first one you posted too. The ruching is a huge bonus! It seems like this year there aren''t as many choices for long torso, but I wonder if we''ll see more styles in the next couple months. I found some great oxford shirts with french cuffs in tall sizes, but they did away with the tall sizing and now are only carrying it in regular, darn it. I only got two, now I''m kicking myself for not stocking up. Oh well. I''m glad you found a suit, Blenheim! Even with the details, I think by getting a solid color it''s more versatile, you can dress it up if you want a beach/pool look, or just wear it to swim laps. Enjoy!

Tank top and long shorts over a bikini with underwire support, any brand. Gosh I hate being fat. more motivation to stick to my diet though!

LOL, PunchnPie! I was thinking this week I might go out and get one of those muu muu''s! Just kidding, I''m not that far gone yet! (The jeans I''m wearing say otherwise, though!) Swimsuit season is always a major motivator, though, I agree. After being able to cover up one''s flaws during the winter, the first time trying on last year''s swimsuit or bikini is always a shocker, lol!

you know punchnpie...I feel your pain...but what I''ve realized is that by covering up, you call more attention to yourself. They have quite a few of those "slimsuits'' (sexy black, brown, floral one pieces...not the farty ones)....that plus a sheer short cover up and you''re good to go!

Wren, check out my laser hair removal thread. I think it is something that would be great for you!
