I need help with a veil. I''ve attached the website image of the dress I''ve ordered. This one is blush, but I ordered this style in "antique," which is sort of a shimmery ivory. I''ve looked at tons of veils and nothing has stood out. I don''t want to wear one with lace trim because I want the lace on the dress (particularly the neckline) to stand out, and I don''t want something super long because the back of the dress is low, with a thin bow that extends the entire length of the cathedral train; a long veil might take away from that too. I''ve looked at shorter, shoulder length, and even birdcage veils but have found nothing that grabs my attention. I will most likely wear my hair tied back and low, or in some style above my shoulders, but can be fleixible if the veil I choose calls for it. Any veil suggestions? Pics, pics, pics!

Try Occonasey Designs.

And that is a STUNNING dress!

A midlength lace veil??

BIRDCAGE! So few dresses are right with a birdcage veil, and I think that one would be STUNNING. :)

See, I really like the lace trimmed veils. In fact, before I found a dress I had this type of classic veil in mind. Ijust think that with the lace detail on the dress, it would be a little too busy-looking with a matching veil...very pretty though =)

You don''t think a birdcage veil would look awkward against the lace of the dress, since it''s more like a net? I have to admit, I also looked at TONS of birdcage veils waaaaay before even looking at dresses. They''re so retro, but simple!

I think a birdcage veil would be beautiful. I hope to get a lace vintage-style dress and hope to match it with a killer birdcage veil. Just keep looking...the right one will come along.

okay I am totally no help at all (though I happen to love that first veil that tlh posted)...but I just wanted to say the following:
1. Love the thread title--gave me a chuckle

2. LOOOOVE that dress!! That neckline is to DIE for! Do you have any photos with you in it? Oh, do I adore Jim Hjelm!

ETA: tlh, where did you find that veil?

Love your signature line! HOW many times have I tried explaining that to people?

I love the title of this thread. Furthermore, I like your screen name. Also, that dress is fab...I''m going to go out on a limb here and say that I think you''re a birdcage veil kinda gal.

Ha! I had to use a catchy subject to get people to read and respond!!!

I have one photo of me in the sample dress that I tried on in the shop. My dress doesn''t arrive until early August (December wedding). There were no pics allowed in the boutique, so I sent the consultant on an errand ("do you happen to have this dress in the store as someone''s order that they haven''t picked up yet, in another color?" hee hee hee) so my roommate could snap a discrete, no-flash photo with her iphone! I tried it on in blush, but ordered it in antique. I''ll have the waist taken in a little (the consultant said i had a short torso!! she''s right), and just a tiiiiny bit on the back of the thigh to exaggerate the mermaid shape, and the seamstress willl add a double french bustle...

I love Jim Hjelm too! Would love him even more if he was cheaper, though! "Yeah, I''d like the recession special, please. Throw in the free veil, shoes and clutch...and earrings...and false lashes...and wedding cake, too. thanks."

Thanks! I AM a birdcage kind of gal - I had two faves picked out before even thinking about a dress. But when I saw this dress, all bets were off. I didn''t care what accessories I would end up with as long as this was the dress I wore. I thought that a birdcage would clash with this half satin/half lace over satin dress. Maybe I''ll have to try on some veils to get the full effect. I appreciate you guys'' help. Thanks to you all, I have done absolutely zero work -yessssss! Just the way I like my Fridays at the office!

For the record you look smokin'' hot in that dress...Great pick!!

and I for one think a birdcage veil would be PERFECT!!!

As for birdcage suggestion...I love this one from http://www.unveiledbridaldesigns.com/unveiledbridaldesigns_bronze_wedge.html,
the bronze color could look great! with the antique color you ordered.

That sight was recommended by Neatfreak in another thread and they have SOOOO many choices. I think she even said she ordered hers from them.

Hmmmm... dissenting voice -- I don''t really see the birdcage veil with that dress.

I would vote for the romantic lace veil in the picture above -- or if you think it''s too much, a mid-length veil without lace trim?

I love the first veil you posted schnap, or the one audball posted in bronze. I think those would look fabulous with your fabulous dress on that fabulous body! Yeesh!

I think a birdcage veil would be gorgeous with that dress! That was my first thought as well.

I think you could do either type that has been posted. I like the birdcage the best though.

How about a knee length veil (no lace). Wouldn''t it look nice stopping right at the flare in the dress? HAving trouble finding a picture...
