How would you set a 9mm Rubellite Tourmaline in a ring?

For Acinom, setting ideas for my 6mm round pink Spinel.

Front runner (I got the quote for this one), one of my favourite ring design, however, it may be too much bling for daily work wear in a manufacturing environment:

A plainer setting with some sparkles, however, it may just be as expensive as the one above due to the weight of the platinum:

This is suitable for day to day wear if the stone is sparkly enough on its own, it will be quite chunky with a 6mm stone:

I can see that from your avatar pic!

For the 6mm round pink Spinel from JD, the flower ring is definitely the front runner.

However, it is definitely not for the 9mm Rubellite, as the diamonds would be about 0.5ct a piece, and my pocket is not that deep unfortunately!

I also like that cute heart with a single stone in the middle, plainer and more suitable for daily work wear.

I have to take off my jewellery before entering controlled environment for cleanliness and safety reasons. Therefore, probably not a good idea to wear too expensive jewellery to work for security reasons.

I love the flower for your new pink spinel!!! Only for the weekends, evenings and days off work for security reasons

Ahhhh! It will be stunning.

LOL!

Yup, I too believe the flower ring is the nicest and most appropriate for the 6mm Spinel, just need to find lots of pennies for it!

Psssssssssttttttt, check out the 6.1mm blue Spinel added on JD's site in the last 24h as an auction. :Up_to_something:

This one, and no, I have not bought it yet, and may not do so, as it has gone up to nearly 60 USD and still have over 8 days to run:

Ha! I wonder why you are still checking the auction pages DK :naughty:

More or less certain not to be buying anymore CS from JD, as I am planning a night out on New Year's Eve and it will eat up the spare pennies.

Found these two settings that are more suitable for work/daily wear for the 6mm round Spinel:

Thank you!

According to JW,, it is one of the largest ones he has cut. Too nice to be set in a pendant IMHO, hence I am thinking of setting it in a ring instead.

I love the 'single' version of the second ring you just posted. Your stone will look great in it and I think it matches your taste for a bit more robust but streamlined modern non fussy rings?

I am leaning towards the first one with the raised bands, and may add a diamond halo around the Spinel to make it a bit more blingy.

However, the flower ring is still the front runner, as I have always wanted a ring in that style, and the 6mm Spinel is the right size and colour. May opt for slight smaller diamonds to reduce the cost and to make it less blingy and more suitable for daily work wear. Need to have the stone in hand first in order to decide.

I may have less spare pennies for jewellery as my social life has vastly improved since I joined Meetup! Good thing in one way, however, not so good for jewellery!!!

ricezo,

I love that 3-stone ring posted by Niel, and the 6mm precision cut round pink Spinel would work with that setting.

However, it is likely to be too ornate for me and my lifestyle, and the ring may end up sitting in a box without much chance of being worn.

I am 95% certain that stone is going to be set in the flower setting.
