How would you spend $500?

Ah, I was about to post this chrysoberyl then saw your update.

Is your stone an oval? The closest setting size you should get is 6 x 5 mm but unfortunately, it's not a calibrated size, meaning not something you can find off the shelf.

Thanks Chrono! That is very pretty. I'm a bit hesitant to buy without seeing a video (maybe I could ask if they could provide one).

Regarding my stone: It feels wrong to spend $$$ on a custom setting for a stone that didn't cost that much (I think it was only around $80). Perhaps I just have to wait until I find something suitable pre-owned or otherwise for a good price.

Depending on the setting and your jeweler's skill, you may be able to get it in a 6x4mm setting (calibrated size).

I find that the length of the gem fits, the side can be off by a mm or so. It depends on the setting though.
