Those are my 2 Goldens, and I have a kitty cat too

I love them too! They are so sweet and good with kids. The cat, on the other hand, hates my DH!

I have to admit, now I am hungry for some strawberries!!! (does Mr. Turtle share?)

This is just the nicest thread! Skippy, I just LOVE hearing about people being nice to animals. You must be very soft hearted. When I was little, we had a turtle that we fed pinches of canned dog food to like Fatafelice said. Out trurtle (Myrtle) thrived on it. She (he?) went from being quarter sized to well, BIG.

Cind or Fata was there a particular brand of wet dog food to buy? I want to make sure I give the little guy the right thing. TIA

Well, we had the turtle when I was in elementary school, so I don't really remember what kind of food we fed him. He just seemed to like it better than the rather unappealing turtle pellets that were supposed to be his food. I also don't remember how long it took him to grow (he may have started out half dollar sized not quarter like I originally said) except that we got him free with a pair of shoes (can you imagine that?) and he seemed to grow a lot. I also remember brushing him (gently) with a toothbrush to discourage algae (I think it was algae?) from growing on his shell.

He came to our back porch; I am trying to feed him but he doesn't like it.

I bet if he lived at your house he would love you and the grandboys too and I know you would spoil him rotten!!!!! hehe He is so mellow; he is the easiest cutie pie! He loves to walk all over the grass and at night he goes into his little hole in the ground and buries himself with leaves; I will have to take a pic for you! hehe The leaves are like blankies he throws over himself. lol
