I just got the call and they countered, but it''s still 6% over the initial offer and $17k more than I make now, so I accepted!!!

I get a company cell phone, a lap top, an office and the full 10 days vacation instead of the prorated 7 they initially offered.

I''m sooooo excited!!!

Congrats robbie! I wanted to ask you, did you ask for/negotiate for the cell phone, laptop & office or did they just offer it to you?

In addition to the obvious benefit of getting more $, vacation time, etc. you''ve also demonstrated to your new employers that you can be assertive when you need to be and have negotiation skills... it shows maturity and that you''re someone to be taken seriously (does any of this make sense... I know I''m rambling

) What I''m trying to say is that you''ve probably gained more from this than just the obvious benefits.

Zoe, they just offered them because I''m going to be doing a lot of traveling (perhaps international since they asked about my passport?). I thought about asking for them, but I have a company cell phone right now that I don''t use and I figured if I actually needed a laptop they''d have to provide it, so I guess I lucked out.
