I received an email yesterday to say it had been shipped (dang he is fast!) so now I just have to cross my fingers and check the mail obsessively! I promise I will post pics but you might have to bear with me. I am no expert!

Maisie, we are in the Heidelberg area. Where were you?

I''ve heard Heidelberg is beautiful, you lucky thing!

Any idea of how long it''ll take to get through the customs etc? Impatient minds want to know when to expect piccies!

Thank you, thank you! I am humbled by how nice you all are - I should have joined long ago! Now you all have to say a prayer or two as I will be leaving town unexpectedly on Tuesday night so if it doesn''t arrive by then, I''ll have to wait until the following week. I''m not sure my sanity can handle that! ARGH!

I lived in Celle just outside of Hanover. It was quite a small town but big enough not to go stir crazy in! Do you like living over there? I thought the place was lovely.... its so clean. Probably due to the manic recycling they have there. How many different rubbish bins do you have? I used to get so confused! My bin was often refused because I had put the wrong thing in it!!

Maisie: We gave up recycling long ago - at least with the Germans! We take our recycling to post instead - it is so much easier! We''ve enjoyed living here but we are ready - very ready - to leave. We''re both homesick for the States. I don''t know when it will happen but we will both be delighted to be on a transatlantic flight! It''s been a good time to improve my German though. Not sure when I''ll get to use it again! Where are you now?

LIB: thanks! I am desperately hoping that a miracle gets it to me by Tuesday. Otherwise, I''ll be waiting until the following week. AARRGGHH!!!
 
I''m back home in the UK now. I lived in Germany for 3 years then came back, and went back for another year before settling back here for good. I don''t think I would like to do it again.... I was very homesick too.
