I hate stupid people.

I hate when someone decent tries to do something nice and it bites them in the but so they do something nice again and it bites them in the but and..... You'd think they'd learn that sometimes certain people will not accept the kindness but WILL take advantage of them and cause BIG problems.

I hate seeing a situation develop that I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to let someone know about so they can do something but never having quite enough information to get them to actually do anything. I feel completely helpless.

I hate working in a place where I have serious concerns for my safety (thanks to above mentioned decent person).
(If the economy was better I'd leave. If we could make do without my salary I'd leave. If I had any chance at finding something that would be this flexible for my school I'd leave. ---- Until then I hope for the best, offer what assistance I can to Decent person, and stay alert for the security threats)

Sorry -- Just needed to get that out somewhere before I lost it and said what I've been thinking to Decent Person.

I feel you. I have a client that hired someone who is basically running the company into the ground, and I can't tell anybody. I really like this client, I've been with them for over 15 years, but this one person is creating a train wreck. Foolishly, they all trust her and probably wouldn't believe me.

Sucks when you can't tell people what you think, doesn't it?

9 more weeks till the end of the semester and I'll be halfway done my BSN for nursing. :appl: ....with 8 more months to go after that!

Onto the MSN after that...it never ends, does it?

That's awesome, Autumn! My DD is considering nursing (among a jillion other things) so I'll ask; is the salary differential (between an RN and whatever you're going to be?) worth all that school? What does one do with a MSN? (I'm hoping you won't take my question the wrong way; you know I'm just curious and not challenging your life choice in any way.) I think you're doing a great thing! :appl:

Sometimes I think my husband purposely screws up household chores so he's never asked to do them again.

Yesterday I asked him to wash the sheets and towels for the guest bedroom because we're expecting company this evening. He washed them, but doesn't remember where he put them. He claims I must have done something with them because they've vanished. He told me not to worry though because he found his old sets so he put them on the bed...there's a reason his set is in storage...the sheets are covered in reddish brown stains and the towels are threadbare. Apparently they're super high end sheets so he won't throw them out. Frankly I don't care about the threadcount, I care about the freaky stains!

Now I don't know what to do. I don't have time to go and get new ones, but I can't let my guests sleep on the murder sheets!

How can you lose sheets? Are they in the washer or dryer maybe?

McDonalds for lunch...I was once again reminded why I dont go there. I think I heard at least 3 burps (loud) without any
"excuse me". And we're not talking from little kids...we're talking grown men. It was disgusting!

McDonalds is pretty gross. The ones around here are trying to look fancy by adding fireplaces and leather seats. At the end of the day its still McDonalds. Something I crave every once and a while, but still pretty gross when you think about it.

I asked him to look there and he says its empty. I have no idea where they are! We live in a condo so its not all that big...

He says his old washing machine was rusty and that's why there are stains. Apparently guests should be understanding of this and not freaked out, lol.

Running 4 blocks in stiletto's was a very painful and unwise decision.

Might not help for NOW, but maybe buy a bottle of RIT Dye and dye the sheets? Then you can use them but w/o the stains. :D

Nothing like presenting your project to some big wig and discussing it with the group, and suddenly being aware that he keeps looking at you. And looking at you. And you start to think, "Is my hair okay? Is my shirt inside out? Did I spill coffee on my cardigan?"

And then he reaches over, and says, "Don't...just don't move."

And he hits you with his notebook. And then hits you again. And then you watch a spider scurry down your leg, and you jump and yelp and it falls off, and he squishes it while you run away.

Yeah. Definitely how I want to be remembered - spider girl.

So happy!

My little sister is being called to the bar next week!

The best part is that my grandmother, who has dementia and has recently started taking new meds, remembered to buy a present and a card all on her own! I know the medication doesn't cure anything and won't work forever, but its so great to see her acting like her old self.

Its fantastic, I almost cried the other week when she called me to thank me for dropping some things off at her condo. I was in London and she's very in to the royal family so I brought her back some books. She wasn't up to attending my wedding in back November, so I made her a photo album. I left everything on the coffee table so she would see it, but I really didn't expect her to realize where it came from. I was so surprised and happy that she called. She had to see the items, realize they were new, recognize where they came from, and look up my number in her address book. That's a lot more than she was capable of a few months ago.

awww! so glad she was able to do that for you! I have a special place in my heart for the older generations. While all my grandparents passes by the time I was in 6th grade, I spend my highschool and college evenings and weekends working at a senior living facility- and they all become my "grammies" and "grandpas".

ROTFL, I can just imagine thus bigwig swatting at her with a notebook. Lol

I don't do it often, but... I love hanging my laundry out to dry!

I have an insane amount of muscle in my forearms. It's kind of funny to flex it and watch people react when they poke it.

Also, I love my climbing buddies. Esp. the guy that works at the climbing gym. He's such a sweetheart and is great at cheering me up (even if he does make fun of me on a near-constant basis, haha). He definitely helped turn my weekend around this weekend.

(And VRBeauty - nope, the whacks didn't hurt. They were just a bit of a surprise.)

Princess - Do you climb avidly? I always wonder if climbers knew my friend who died.

I'm very sleepy today.

I've only been climbing for a few months, DF. Generally I try to get into the climbing gym at least twice a week, but lately I've only made it there once a week. :( This week I'm not even going to make it into the gym ONCE! It makes me want to cry a little bit.

So when you go - do you go with friends and climb together or is there someone at the gym that helps you? I've always thought that you had to have a pair to do climbing - one person to climb and another to hold the rope thingy? There is this huge climbing gym sort of close to me but I've never gone cause I can't convince people that it would be fun. :nono:

And YAY for grandmas!
I'm glad the medicine is helping her have some more good days. Grandmas are such special, wonderful people.

I'm sorry.... but you just described that SO perfectly....

I can just picture you in this formal office conference room with all these important guys in their suits... trying your best to not look obvious as you check to see if your shirt is hanging open or if you sat in something or??????
Then the BIG important guy leaning in... no clue what is about to happen...... then.... WHACK!

Maybe "spider girl" is a good thing to be remembered as ---- you faced an important presentation, stayed calm and composed while you presented even though BIG IMPORTANT guy was staring at you like something was really wrong, then after being whacked repeatedly by BIG you still managed to maintain some degree of dignity and professionalism!

That's such great news chemgirl :appl:

Chemgirl, that's wonderful!

GG, yeah, you usually need to go in at least pairs - one to climb and one to belay. But generally you can go to the climbing gym and talk to the staff and see if they can find you people to climb with. Also, check out meetup.com for groups - I know our gym has a meetup group that meets once a month so you can try it out, meet other climbers, and have fun. And there's usually a "climbing buddy needed" board that you can put your info on. But once you go a few times and you start getting into it, you generally find other climbers and/or employees can hook up climbers of similar experience levels, or ask a skilled climber if they mind helping out a newbie.

I used to love going. I liked bouldering the most. I miss it a lot. I haven't been able to go since his accident though. :((
