I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

JewelN, I am so, so sorry to hear the news of your father's passing. My deepest condolences and most sincere sympathies to you and your family. I don't often read this thread, but I clicked on it tonight and found this. My parents are now in their seventies and your post really touched my heart. I am so fortunate to still have them, even after major health issues. Take care.

VRbeauty & skippy ,
Thanks .all day today I kept meeting people and thinking they dont know what I am going through .

I understand exactly what you mean by this. I'm so sorry for your loss jeweln. Wishing you strength and comfort during this painful time.

Jeweln

I am so sorry to hear your news. I can feel your pain just reading your words.
I lost my Dad suddenly almost two years ago. He was 78 and very active too. So your description touched me.

I used Pricescope to get through the scary days and the many tearful, sleepless nights.
It was a godsend. The chat, the bling and the sense of being amongst friends at any time of the day was priceless.

Sending you and yours much love. Take comfort that your darling dad was with those that loved him when he passed.

We are all here for you, anytime you need us!!! Hugs!!

jeweln... I am so, so sorry for your loss. I know that sounds so empty, and I wish I had the right words to express it. I can't begin to imagine the pain of losing a loved one like that - it's the stuff of nightmares, and it's horrifying to think that such a nightmare could come true. Big hugs to you and your LO, susi, and june :(sad

monarch64,
enjoy your parents while you can ! make them happy by spending time with them. if you are a parent then you realize how selfless they are in taking care of their children . even if we were not happy with their decisions ,they did what they thought right for us .

yssie ,susimo,Junebug17 ,
Thanks for your words . Glad someone understands .I am still in disbelief . while doing normal things like buying coffee, taking a walk , I kept thinking that my father will never do that again .Then I told myself he is free from the troubles of this world . God willing he is in a better place . but we sure will miss him a lot .

Oh Jeweln - I have not lost a parent, but I can just imagine the sense of loss you are feeling. It does seem surreal when a tragedy has struck you and yet you see the world carrying on as normal - its unfair! The whole world should know and weep along with you....!

I hope that each day gets just a tad better for you. I think that would be a comforting thought for me, too - that he is in a place where there is no pain or suffering and that he is happy and with others he loved while here on earth. I hope you get thru this time as smoothly as is possible... Thinking of you

there is nothing in my 'diamond' world that I am missing... but suddenly - this is a ring I am in DESPERATE need of! Why?? crazy, huh??? hmmm... must let this pass.....Blue Nile sent their 15% discount email and I made the foolish mistake of clicking on it. I am weak :rodent:

Amen to that Jewel. I'm sending you hugs of comfort as well. It's weird how, when we face a tragedy, part of our world feels like it stops but everyone else's continues. It's surreal. My thoughts & prayers are certainly with you & your family.

Ooh, so pretty!! Love the golden reflection, so warm and cozy!

I just bought a dress tonight at a vintage store in our neighborhood. It was a spur of the moment purchase (big surprise right?) and I got it for a black tie affair we have in March. My question is...what shoes can I wear with it? I am big on comfort and only really ever wear boots in cooler weather and sandals in warmer weather. I don't think any of those choices will work for this affair though. :rodent:
Do I need a shoe with a (small because that's the best I can do) heel or do you think I could get away with a strappy sandal with low heel? I know it will partly depend on weather but a little cold doesn't scare me if sandals could be appropriate. It's being held at the Museum of Natural History. Also, if you don't think this dress is OK for this function please let me know.
I have a velvet black shrug I can wear in case it is cool.

Thanks YT! What about the shoe issue though? What do you think would work best keeping in mind I am not a stiletto type gal?

Thank you ClassyRocks! I was hoping that might work. :appl: :wavey:

Oh my gosh missy, you look stunning in that dress! It looks like it was custom made for you - Ok, after seeing you I really need to start that diet! :D

I think sandals with a low heel would look great.. I sympathize, heels are tough for me too. Ouch!

you are tiny and look fabulous Missy!!!

I am taking a Rolled fondant/gum paste class. Who knew making sugar flowers was so fun?!?!

I think this boot will be really pretty. I know you said no stiletto, but I have these and they are super comfy.
Or something like this, only 63 dollars!

Ok, the boot didn't show up.

The badgley mischka has a low heel too!

Awww, thank you Junebug and Skippy. I really wasn't sure about the dress and if my dh hadn't been with me I would not have bought it because I wasn't certain it was flattering (despite the shop's owner saying so because I am still not trusting salespeople these days given the circumstances ::) ). My dh convinced me to buy it and I appreciate your opinions on the fit.

Thanks YT- I love that short boot (but the heel is way too high for me-I am a klutz with a capital K!!!) I do have sandals that I think will work too but now you have me thinking in another direction-especially if the weather is cool. Hmmm, off to check it out!

Ooh, Skippy, making sugar flowers sounds like fun!!! Maybe you can post pics when you are done?

Mopped up the blood, put on some neosporin and a band-aid and is well. Or, I should say things got better after a shot of tequila -- ya know, to take the sting out of the boo boo.

That's good! Tequila is the way to go! Did you rub some on your wound? Make it burrrrn :)
