Oh no! Are you ok? I mean is Maliik ok?
Mopped up the blood, put on some neosporin and a band-aid and is well. Or, I should say things got better after a shot of tequila -- ya know, to take the sting out of the boo boo.

Matata, I hope all involved are OK! I prefer the red of spinels, rubies to the red of blood that's for sure. Tequilas all around. I'll take mine straight up, no salt thank you very much.

My SIL is on her third round of iui. Please let my sissy get a positive PG test next Monday. I so hope she gets a BFP. I know she would be an awesome mom and really could use the some wonderful news right now. Tons of sticky baby dust to you sissy. I love you!

Good luck to your SIL, I'll be thinking of her. :))

Thanks to Thing2of2, I've discovered LUSH and it is completely changing my skin. I've got one scab on my nose that needs to heal, and then I think I'll actually be able to comfortably leave the house without make up. My acne has been so bad for the past few years and the dermatologist said the only thing that will fix it is going back on the pill, but I tried this stuff on a whim and holy goodness. My skin just feels different, it looks different, and the breakouts can be easily covered by concealer - small little spots instead of massive red cystic acne. I can't even believe how nice it feels. I haven't left the house without make up more than once or twice in the last 4 years at least. I'm so so so so so excited about this!

I love pomp and circumstance. I'm watching the inauguration activities and I love the formality and precision of it all.

I'm hoping that this one is THE ONE for you :appl: :appl:

Lots of sticky baby vibes headed out your way. :wavey:

JustGinger and isaku5, Thank you so much. I hope to report good news in a week. Fingers crossed :)

What is with the rash of guess how big my stone is and what it's specs are threads of late.

I played along in two but damn it Im done guessing. TELL ME. I often wonder if they don't know, and want us to guess bec they have no idea. Or if they need an ego stroke. Either way, lame sauce.

If anyone wanted to know what true love looks like, one look at President Obama and the First Lady dancing at one of the Inaugural Balls is the answer. The devotion shown in their eye contact, the pecks on the cheek and the whispered comments (let's get outa here, Babe) said it all

I'm a proud senior Canadian and the sight of the two lovebirds made my heart sing :appl:

Yea that was pretty awesome. I like their music choices too.

Me three!! One of my favorite moments was during their 2nd dance when the First Lady went ahead and wrapped her arms around his neck. I just loved that (although I can't imagine being tall enough to actually do that with DH :) ).

Oh, and Ame, I was also wondering about the whole "guess how big ..." threads trend. Anyone who spends any time on this website would know that jewelry really is subjective and what we love to do is celebrate WITH one another when someone shares something that THEY obviously love. We may not have chosen that style for ourselves, but we totally get how great it feels when you're finally wearing something that you've dreamed about and really really adore.

I don't think this is the place to come and show a picture of something that you don't really like (or you're not sure if you like it) and ask for fellow PSers to "talk you into loving it". Given the vast number of opinions out there, that can be a little dangerous & it makes me feel so bad when people go away with hurt feelings.

My step daughter just 'liked' a photo of a ring from some random page on FB... It was Yssies ring! It was posted 16 hours ago and has 9.5k 'likes' and 100 comments and counting.

Weird and kinda creepy!

I do think that if you make people guess the size you have no right to get annoyed if the guess is smaller than the stone size actually is.

Didn't it seem like that happend a year or two ago as well? peopel got so upset because their 1.5ct on a size 3 finger didn't look like 3 + carats. Honestly it drives me crazy

The firm I interviewed with in Chicago on Monday just called and said they want me to come back to meet some more people.

I'm THRILLED (of course) but am really on the fence becuase the timing is not ideal. I'm within a few months of finishing the requirement to sit for the CPA so this move would delay that a bit. BUT it's almost the perfect storm in that I could work it into a less-than-five-days-a-week role so I could do other things (like my real estate busines, which has gone to he!! in a handbasket since I've been here).

HOWEVER, I am only 7 months into a 36 month relocation contrct, so it would cost some $ to get out of this gig (not to mention the 6 months I have left on my lease).

I am kind of "pre-worrying" about this since they certainly haven't offered me a job yet, but I seriously don't know what I would do if they did!

I know! It's all over Pinterest (a friend of mine actually sent me the pic and said, "I want something like this! Do you think you know anyplace where I could get soemthing like this made?").

Since you have a contract you're tied to, I wouldn't keep pursuing this honestly, unless this would be a DREAM JOB since you'll have to buy your contract out, your lease out, pay to move back, etc.

Ame, I'm only tied in terms of repayment, and I've got plenty of money, so writing the check would hurt (and don't many checks, so some degree?!) but it's more than do-able. [ETA: If I did write a check, I would simply be giving them back money they gave to me in the first place, so I'm not really out anything.]

It is not necessarily a dream JOB but it is a dream SCENARIO in that it would be a professional role that would pay very well but would give me time outside of a regular 5 day a week job to do other things I'm interested in.

Is it possible that the new job would compensate you, or "buy out" the remainder of your other contract? Not sure how this works industry to industry but I have a friend who is constantly being recruited in her field and she gets paid relocation costs and re-imbursed for any penalties or buy-outs of contracts that haven't yet expired.

Bee, this is likely at my level if I were moving to another traditional full time executive level role (and exactly that same thing happened with this job), but since I'm lobbying for a part time schedule and some other non-traditional things I don't think it's likely. Honestly, I would even like to not be an *employee* but rather just a contractor, however they prefer the employee route.

DeeJay, timing is never good when it comes to big life changing decisions. That's just the way it works. From where I sit, if you're offered the job, moving back to Chicago seems like the right thing to do. It gets you out of Missouri and back into an arena more suited to you, offers you a much broader venue to pursue your interests, and gives you time to sort things out. Even if the Chicago job didn't please you after a while, you'd still be in an area of the country that you enjoy, right? And there would be other jobs to pursue, right? And taking a bit longer to sit for the CPA wouldn't rock your boat too much, right? So what do you have to lose other than an opportunity?

Oh, Dee*Jay! that sounds so exciting!! If it is the right thing and it was meant to be... it will happen. Sometimes, we just have to take a leap of faith and just go for it. Only in hindsight, do we know what was right or wrong.

and I do believe... there's a wine collection waiting in Chicago for you, am I right??? Not to mention - *I'm* coming in April, so if that's not reason enough to massively upheave your whole life and return to Chicago after a big move away--- I just don't know WHAT is!!!

(in all seriousness - life is too short to stop yourself from taking a reasonable chance.

Absolutely! This is spot on Enerchi (and not just for Dee*Jay ;)) ). This opportunity is opening itself up to you Dee*Jay, and although it's easier "said" than "done", I think you should go ahead, take a step, and try it out.
