I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

It's been so cold lately, that I CANNOT. GET. WARM. Right now, I'm wearing 3 shirts, wrapped in 2 blankets, and I've cranked up the heat embarrassingly high, and my nose is still freezing. I can't justify another cup of hot chocolate today!

PS: This is what I like to call booger freezin' weather.

Just had a couple Russian alcoholic drinks and turned on a Russian music video (absolutely amazing sign language interpretation of a classic song by a classic band), only to be greeted by an advertisement for WALMART diamond engagement rings. WHAAAAT. I was too dumbfounded to skip it after the requisite number of seconds. This is a first

And the room is full of people but no one appreciates my shock and dropped jaw :cheeky:

Ame, I'm only tied in terms of repayment, and I've got plenty of money, so writing the check would hurt (and don't many checks, so some degree?!) but it's more than do-able. [ETA: If I did write a check, I would simply be giving them back money they gave to me in the first place, so I'm not really out anything.]

It is not necessarily a dream JOB but it is a dream SCENARIO in that it would be a professional role that would pay very well but would give me time outside of a regular 5 day a week job to do other things I'm interested in.

You have cases of wine somewhere in storage in Chicago, right? :lickout:  Nuf said.

Hey Guys...
Just missing you all! Sorry I have't been around much.
I am loving my ring and finally have my spacer ring finished. I like it but don't "love" it. That's ok though. I love that it was made from the gold from my original wedding ring. However, since I took my nails off, my ring feels like I'm wearing a fancy gown without my hair and make-up done. It looks so much better with pretty nails!

Been busy around here with the new puppy. Looks like I need to catch up on the Furbabies thread and post some pictures of Riggins! He is getting so big already!

I am also trying to lose 15 pounds and "tone up" before a company trip to Mexico in April. It's sad how much I've "let myself go" in the last 6 months. I had to buy cheap jeans because none of mine were fitting. :( But... I am now motivated!! AND... I put on a bikini and had my hubby take "Before" pictures today!! :o :o If that doesn't kick your butt into gear, nothing will!! Yikes!
If only it was easier to say no to the evening wine...

I hope all of you are well!
Hugs,
DG

Hey, you know we want you back in Chicago! :naughty: You know the area very well so you shouldn't have a hard time getting back into your Real Estate gig. Hope it works out how you want!

I need to write my essays for my grad school applications. So why am I totally freaking out and staring at a blank page? I'm applying for a creative writing program, words are supposed to be what I'm good at!

Staring at a blank page is totally part of the creative process! The essays are getting written in the back of your mind first, no worries. They'll come to the page when they're good and ready :rodent:

Aviva (from Leibish and Co) just emailed me the most INCREDIBLE stone - said she saw it and thought of me.

I want it so bad. But I can not have it. My money tree has been chopped down and set to the sawmill. ;(

No, not a lotto person. DH is, so I guess I always win - save my own disposible income for diamonds, but if he wins with his, so do I. :saint:

I am still thinking on this stone. I think it will be one I always regret not buying. But it's not an Argyle and I've sworn up and down there will be no more colored diamonds for me until I get an inscribed Argyle.

You have now put it out there in the universe.... so something will become of it......PS dust your way....

1964 baby blue Stingray convertible... I am 100% in lust...

It's about the same value as my engagement ring--think they'd do a trade? :cheeky:

Oh my!!! Love!!! I've ALWAYS wanted one! DH says no cuz he hates corvettes but how can you say no to a 1960's stingray!

Oh my... 1967 with custom silver pearl paint and an absolutely printine interior...

YT, let's you and me pool our pin money and buy one of these!

Hey! Those have back seats, right? I'm in! :wavey:

Wait . . . you guys aren't planning on pulling a Thelma and Louise are you?

In that case, I'm out.

My dad had a 1974 Stingray when I was growing up (mid life crisis?) that was amazingly sold just a few months before I turned 16. :nono:

I want a 72 Stingray. DH wants a Mustang. Both are incredibly expensive to buy down under, so we'd buy in the States, have my dad take care of it for 366 days (what a chore, hey?), and then have it shipped down. I don't know how much it would cost, but certainly less than the $30ish that it would be priced at down here.

But again, like I said in the bathroom renos thread, this always seems to lose out when it comes to diamonds and travel. The car takes the backseat (the nice, molded leather backseat, of course).

ILander, no back seat, but you can squeeze in between YT and me--you'll have to straddle the gear shift though! And definitely no Thelma and Louise for us! Too many good cars and diamonds to live for!

Ginger, LOL on the car being sold right before your 16th birthday! My grandparents had two stingrays (early 70s, don't know the exact year) when I was little. A silver one and a purple one--yes, purple! They were both stolen in the same week, one out of the mall parking lot and one right out of our driveway in the middle of the night. My grandmother used to refer to hers as the "boobie bouncer" thanks to the suspension!

iLander can take my seat. I'll STRADDLE the shift knob :naughty:

Every Sunday the paper carries a picture of a dog needing adoption from the county animal shelter and today it is an Ibizan Hound. I want her but can't risk bringing a young sight hound into a house full of furry critters. Gosh darn it :(

It takes a surprisingly long time to write up good, accurate descriptions when you want to list jewelry for sale. I am filled with a newfound respect for all of our vendors.

I hate visitors...

Have someone coming for A FULL #@! WEEK.

I want to hide, I want to go away somewhere.

This is by far the longest we've had someone in the house and I am NOT looking forward to it. I feel like I can't say anything because we're always accommodating my more introverted nature, and this is one of DH's relatives that he cares about.

I go through this craziness every time someone is about to come visit (except for people I can count on hand, but even THEY don't stay more than 2-4 days - and that's about all I can handle) - I always live through it of course but I hate it.
