Why can't the news report current (and accurate!) information?!?!!

I'm sitting here trying not to worry. YT is safe. My grandparents' houses are safe. For that I am very glad.

But I'm still sitting here reading the news stories and anxiously waiting for information about where they were able to stop the fire (if they've been able to stop the fire) and watching maps showing the fire creeping even closer to the winery. I know it is on the other side of the river. I know there is little risk of it jumping over the river. I just can't help but worry some. Nothing I can do. Just have to wait for it to be done and then talk to the winery and see how it was affected (if at all).

my DH knew I needed a pick me up, so he bought these ridiculous monster cupcakes on the way home.
After dinner, the kid asked for one and it was fine as long as she stayed on the kitchen to eat it.

I went to my room to answer a phone call privately, and DH & friends dh.went outside to talk.
my friend apparently, wasn't watching her kid.
they left a hour later, i went to our spare bedroom to get towels and what.do i see?

Chocolate blue and.yellow, smeared into my carpet, and teensy handprints on my door.
I got most of it.out (thank you oxyclean!) but it makes me mad that she didn't watch her kid!

First day of school was suuuuuper busy! Came home and my knees were hurting It will take a few days to get used to being on my feet all day.

The good thing from yesterday, I come home to my puzzle ring Anyone have one of these? I used to when I was in HS but it was stolen years ago. I'm still learning how to put this one together and it looks good paired with my channel eternity band. Perhaps I will get one in gold

I hope that the people who spout such horrible crap about my home state, and who yell for boycott of FL, and who keep calling everyone rednecks or old people and that's all the state consists of; I hope they get out. I hope they get out and stay out. And I hope that they don't go to complaining if FL ever withholds it's share of food crops, fish harvests, and beef. I hope they don't wine when they can't go to Disney, or Sea World, or when they lose out on the benefits of Florida's marine research. I hope they don't say a word when they don't hear anything more about NASA, or the Everglades, or Ringling brothers. I hope they choke on their words when they don't have things like Gatorade, Hemingway, Rawlings, the Daytona 500, Tom Petty, Matchbox 20, or Philip don Esteridge (who lead the development of IBM) coming from it. They can forget going to springs, or going lobstering, or seeing the coral reefs of the keys. They can forget visiting our beaches and trashing them. BC honestly, we have a little more respect for other places than to go about calling for their boycott, and trashing them and bashing them. We appreciate what Florida is, and if others can't, then please, get the hell out so we don't have to wait in line behind you, or clean up after you anymore.


ETA: Not to mention, I hope they can come up with a new Oldest city in the continental United States since we house that. St. Augustine.

Kelinas, OH NO!!!!! this would drive me insane as well... I feel its the parents responsibility to keep an eye on their child while in someone elses home and if an accident like this happened, I would have hoped instead of her getting mad at you, that she'd be over in a heart beat to help!!

I hope it all came clean... no more icing for that little visitor!!

DF --- I haven't been watching the news (except to check on wild fires) lately. I don't know who is trying to boycott FL or why, but all I can say to them is GET OVER IT
Florida has many wonderful people and contributes much good to our country and the world. If those dumb people want to boycott FL let them -- the rest of us will have much more wonderful FL products to enjoy! They don't deserve the produce, beef, entertainment, vacations or any of what makes FL great!
