I love this look

I think each generation eventually finds pearls
i was never a fan of this show, but i used to watch it with a boyfriend's mum at the time

Can i step back 100 years
Its good to remember people we only knew as old ladies were once young and fashionable themselves
i absolutly the love the 20s
Some say the Queen mum didn't have the figure for it but then neither do i and probably lots of other girls/ ladies back then

This coloured one below her wedding photo i would say is from when she was Queen just judging from the tiarae60bac68ab21012fd0bb13eea0b58ddd.jpg449325686077fdb21404ff65c53f41a2.jpg54310dad55435460de1d4cf35b544e1d.jpg

I kind of like artificial flowers and bows in pearl fashion jewlery but nothing too bridal looking f0de79c5b80c909dca981378e7ce7e85.jpgdownloadfile-217.jpgtumjsbvqszeqikzekl65.jpg

Love those! Especially the bottom two. I actually went and found the bee one online but it’s sold out now, probably best that I saved the cash lol.

How could it not? Is my thinking

Do you own any of tbose Tin cup necklases like Kamars Harris has ?
Do they come in a big box so they don't get damaged when one puts them away
im sure we had a thread about Katama's pearls ? but i cant find it
i noticed last night on the news she seems to be quite a pearl fan

You were speaking about making a necklace the other day. Tin cup necklaces are a doable DIY project too. I made one from a cable Argentina silver chain, silver wire and a few pearls from Etsy. It was fun.

I'd definatly like to have a go
i find the thought of fiddling around with chain a lot less daunting than restringing !

Ima fan of mixing chain and pearls! I made this chain recently. I do think silver will leave marks eventually against the pearls. I know my gold beads did. But if that’s how you enjoy them best I say go for it

Oh, that looks so beautiful on you. Well done :)

I bought the Tahitian Keshi (solid Tahitian nacre ) pearls from Ehret Design on Etsy. Now I want to make a new necklace with finer, more colorful Tahitian pearls. My links are definitely beginner level (found the videos on YouTube) but it was fun none the less.

I love Tin Cups as they are so easy to fix if you make a mistake. Unlike knots where you have to redo the whole thing... Tin Cups are just two snips away from perfection. Or switching colours around.

The wrapping just takes a bit of practice to get that loop down near the pearl. Then take an awl, 5$ from a bead store, and go back to each loop and gently round them off.

lolol...Argentinum chain, not chain from Argentina. I need more wine.

I had fun making this with freshwaters and a big drop Tahitian. I think the thicker link chain and asymmetry gives it a more edgy vibe.
(Pardon my inside out night shirt. Was crafting in my PJs)

I love this layered look...I’m not crazy about one of the charms but I just love all the textures..

You all inspired me to layer necklaces on Friday, and I loved the look. It was different. I layered a thick gold chain and my grandmas old amethyst chip choker. Weird but good.

Pics or it didn’t happen! ;)

Sounds awesome though

I don't wear a lot of jewelry at once myself, whether layered or otherwise, but I really like the dress up/dress down thing. Glittery sneakers with a skirt or formal pearls with jeans, why not.

Hahaha, well you know I took a picture because I wanted to see the effect. A strand of baroque pearls would have been fun here. Maybe just the amethyst and pearls. I kinda look like a kid playing in jewelry....only not so much a kid. Gramma? LOL

I actually have glittery sneakers :)

@moneymeister - I love it!! I’m tempted to add another necklace to your look!

And your earrings are really awesome. Details please?

And for anyone into the fun layering check out #neckmess on Instagram.

Thank you. What fun. I'll check out #neckmess.

The earrings are resin filled 14k. Comparatively light weight due to being resin filled. Safer than hollow gold.

Edit, I am actually not sure they are resin filled. Milor uses a mark for resin filled - these are not marked as such.

Resin filled! I had never heard of such a thing but what a cool idea. Thanks for the info and the pic :)
