Ideas for a little pink diamond?!

Setting options

I think tiara/princess rings are perfect for smaller stones because they somewhat “cluster” the stones together so there’s more presence.
reallt any Belle Époque style would be pretty though

Seaurchin, DS, Miss GR, Bibbi!!! Well now you have really done it! I’ve spent MANY hours going down this path and I have some ideas. I'll post a couple of examples of my favs at the moment. They are definitely not the fanciest of the options, but I'm also trying to balance out the styles that I love with the goal of ending up with a really wearable ring. I don't want something so 'fancy" that it rarely makes it out of the jewelry box.

Niel, I LOVE tiara / princess rings! I am going to spend some time perusing those options in a little while (unfortunately have to do that crazy thing called my JOB for a bit first, ha ha).

Of those two, I really thought I liked the first one more... until I looked at it "small" on my screen. I love it bigger, but when it gets smaller I'm not so sure about the "lines" in between the stones at the top and bottom.

For the second one, I am drawn to the more angular shape. I might be inclined to put something more on the sides because I think this is going to be a pretty small ring overall and I'd want a tiny bit more finger coverage east/west.

So... any thoughts on those?

ETA, rose gold bezel and all white diamonds on both.

OR!!! I just turned my computer sideways -- what about the second option going east/west?

Boy, I've got some more cutting and pasting to do!

Here’s my Pinkie mock-up stuck on top of a double halo. What about this idea (Pinkie in rose gold bezel)?2A081D28-C78E-4AC6-B26A-AF6C83A3F33C.jpeg Or maybe an “octagonal” double halo? And this type of split shank for a little extra coverage on the side?

That would look GORGEOUS
Have the pink diamond accented with rose gold in the double halo.
And the band and split shank in white gold.

The second image under the first one to the left is my favourite. :)
That would to me really showcase the stone.
And I just love the setting.
Looks to me like a lovely antique design.
Simple, classic and elegant.
And not one of those in your face rings.
A subtle beauty. ;-)

north/south is the best in my opinion to showcase your pink diamond.
Have looked at many a photo of a pink diamond ring.
And the ones that were my favourites were all north/south in the design.

Am not a jeweller and I don't do jewellery designs.

I am in IT however and do a lot of photo editing for clients as part of my computer consulting business.

So north/south to my understanding in a ring design are the ones that I have thought would be lovely ring designs to showcase your pink diamond.

Or "Pinkie" as you call your lovely gem. ;-)

It's your decision of course for the final design. :)
And whatever you choose I am 100% sure will be absolutely beautiful. :D

What is a Belle Époque style?
Am interested to know.
Am a long time jewellery lover.
Am also familiar with halo designs and tiara/princess rings.
Like your idea for the ring.
Dee*Jay is going have a fun time choosing her final ring design.
*sigh* I'm so jealous. LOL
Me wants a pink diamond too! ;)

Ibrakeforpossums, I completely forgot to acknowledge your point -- yes! I this is definitely an idea gathering thread!

Molecule, I am intrigued by the idea of an "interesting" shaped stone, and that is still very much on the table.

Bibbi, Pricescope can be a verrrrry dangerous place! :cheeky:

Mid 1800s era similar to art nouveau.
Google the term and “jewelry “ I’m sure you can get all the info your heart desires.

What about a halo of pink diamonds around the pink diamond in rose gold and then white diamond halo and set in platinum! I love this look!

I like your first pick of semi mounts and I don't personally mind the negative space. It adds interest. With that said, I love the flow and the lines of Belle Epoque designs.

Wrong shapes but this is something I would love to own

I really like the idea of east west for that diamond. Draws the eye out instead of up and makes it a bit more compact for a wearable ring. Not a fan of the negative space and love the idea of a rose gold bezel. Not a finished ring of course but just some random thoughts.

How about this design?
It does have a red stone and is in white gold.
Picture this in your minds eyes if you will.
Am thinking your pink diamond "Pinkie" be held with rose gold prongs and to showcase the pink diamond perhaps pink amethysts or aquamarines.
All pink surrounding your stone would draw the eye away from it.
As an IT person I edit photos too for my clients and my own photos.
And contrasting colours go really well together.
Take a look at my avatar for instance.
This white cat has two different coloured eyes one blue and one gold.
Gorgeous kitty. Don't you think? *winks*
So you can pick that colour combo that I suggested for your pink diamond.
Whatever you decide on I'm 100% certain it will be beautiful. :)

And some tips which I think might be helpful for you in your choice for your final design. :)

Thank you for weighing in!

Do you think a pear for the second stone or maybe something else... ?

Vote absolutely yes.

I like the pear, but I would probably make it more like a bypass instead of having the stones as far apart as they are in your mock up.

That was one of my dream board rings

Niel, that is fabulous.

Agree with this. Or just add some mms to the shank. The mock up looks too small for your finger.

If it’s not going to be an engagement ring I would do a north south all rose gold bezel like this in diameter. 94F7F6AB-20B8-47B6-B5F8-4A11F3D75A87.png

I would love to see her set east-west with halo in any of the designs you posted.

Ceilimom, if my "dream board" gets any bigger I'm going to have to make a table of contents!

Niel, holy cow -- that's AWESOME!

Ibrake, completely agree!!!

Bravissimo, interesting point about adding mm. I *think* I have moved off of the toi et moi design for this ring, but I am now considering one with a yellow pear and some other shape of white stone.

Donna, east / west with halo is one of (the many) CADs Ilya is having done for me. And then I will tape each of the options to my finger and walk around the house with them!

Hey Dee, dropping by to post these original designs. Not sure if you have already found these makers, but I included their names for further research if necessary. I like your initial MET open cutouts to be honest, do you still like to have one made like that with bigger rocks?

When I was deciding on mine, I wanted it to play up the size difference and colour contrast, be hi-lo finger hugging, and most importantly, have different looks depending on how I wear it. Once the ring is done, I found that I really like to wear it just below my knuckle, weird, I know. Another shameless post of this guy...

I hope you find your big pink/yellow soon and keep us posted!

Thank you SO MUCH Neptune!

I also like the initial version I posted a lot because there is something appealing to me about (a) the different shapes and (b) the (almost) overlap of the stones on Y axis.

As of now (subject to change at any moment  ) I'm thinking larg(er) pink* pear and very white emerald cut. *Pink for the MET to maybe be purplish pink... ? Although I think Pinkie's peachy hue may be more suited to my skin tone, I'd like to do something different with a second pink.

Does your ring ever slip off? I have such knobby knuckles that it may not be an issue, but you have such lovely fingers that aren't plagued by knuckles like mine... ?
