Hi everyone! I just started reading these posts, although I feel as though I already know some of you since I'm Robbie3982's moh and she has shown me a lot of the posts when I've had questions in the past.
First, just to introduce myself, I'm a high school english teacher near Hershey Pa, I've been engaged for a year, my FI is a med student (and the love of my life
emlove.gif
). We're getting married on 7/12/08 in the Pittsburgh area, and we just spent a marathon 3 months of planning since we both had a lot of time off this summer and won't again until the wedding! It's been great, we've got the ceremony and reception sites, flowers, dj, invitations, photographer, and even bridesmaid dresses picked, but I"m really having trouble picking a dress. It's not that I can't find one, it's that I've found 3 that I love!

Please let me know which dress you think looks best on me.

And I've got another problem! While #2 and #3 are from David's Bridal and very affordable, #1 is from a place called MB Bride and is out of my budget. I would like to try to find this dress online, but MB bride changes the style numbers to keep people from doing this. I know it is an Allure gown, but I've looked all over the Allure website and I can't find it

. I don't know if I'm missing it or what, but if you know where I can find this dress, please let me know!

Welcome! I think dress #1 looks the best on you! I really like the shape of dress #3, but for some reason it just isn''t as flattering as dress #2.

I LOVE dress #1 on you - hands down the most flattering, and in my opinion by far the nicest of the dresses. Maybe you can call around to different salons and see if they have a sample they could sell you? You could try posting it on the Knot Dress board for help finding the allure style # and then look around for discounts. It really is hands-down the nicest, in my opinion, and would be worth the legwork to find it at a price that works for you.

No 1 is beautiful; the others are not flattering. You will make a beautiful bride!

#1! #1!

Dress #3 all the way! I think that is the most flattering, and I love the little sash. #1 would be by second choice. #2 floats out a bit too much from the waist, IMO.

maybe I''m missing something but where is the link to the dresses??? I love to see dresses!

OK, not only can't I find the pictures I can even find a link that would take me TO any pictures. Help me--I want to play too!

ETA: Blueys and I must have been posting at the same time.

Add me to the list of people who can''t see it!

I want to see the photos too! Could you repost the link?

As for finding the style number of that Allure dress, are there any other salons in your area that carry Allure gowns (or friends who live near salons that carry Allure gowns)? If so, you (or they) could go to those stores and hope they are more honest in leaving the tags on. If the dress isn't on the allure website, it probaly means it was a gown from a previous season. However, bridal salons may still have the dress in stock.

One more website to check is www.preownedweddingdresses.com. You can use the "gown search" function and enter "Allure" dresses in all sizes. Hopefully someone has posted the same Allure dress you are looking for and you can get the style number if the seller has listed it (or email them to ask for the style number if it's not listed). Or even better, if the dress is in your size, you could buy it!

Good luck!

Sorry guys, apparently links to webshots are not allowed. Whoops! I''ve been fooling around with the size of the pictures, and hopefully this will work!

Here is the back of the first dress

I love #1... it looks really beautiful on you- very flattering and I like the details that are not same ol' same ol' thing.

#2 is nice but nothing is really standing out.

ETA: Just saw #3, I like it better than #2 but not as much as #1... and #1 still looks the awesome-est (

) on you.

ETAx2: UGH... just realized #1 was the more difficult to get one... sorry, lol. But it still looks the best!

Thanks for the tip...they don''t have my dress, but I''ll keep checking!

Thanks for the opinions everyone else!

Hi Sabine!

I think you were posting on a teaching thread I started in Hangout or the Home section. We''re getting married on the same day - July 12th! I really like the other dresses you posted but I choose #1 by far. The second one seemed too busy on the top -- a little too busy for your petite frame. I''d have to agree with Robbie on this one.

Oh honey. It''s not even a contest. Not at all. That first one is SO SO SO much more flattering I can''t even put it into words. It''s made for you.

Have you tried emailing the pic to Pearl''s Place? That''s what I''d do. And then I''d follow up with a call for a qoute.

I completely agree with Gypsy -- number one is the ONLY choice!

You look great.

Zoe: It''s great to have a date-buddy, especially one who is a fellow teacher! Thanks for the opinion!

Gypsy and Minnie: Thanks!

I''m starting to realize that #1 is THE dress. Now if I could only find it a little bit cheaper online...
All the online sites that carry Allure just have links to the Allure page that doesn''t have the dress posted. I''m still waiting for them to get back to me.

#1 All the way! Welcome!

I think #1 looks the best! I think the others are pretty too, but #1 is gorgeous and looks great on you.

Sabine, I LOVE number 1 on you!! Do you mind saying what venue in Pittsburgh you''re using? I might be planning my wedding there from out of town (there or here in MI, we haven''t decided yet...) and am trying to get all the ideas I can!

Number 1 is the best for your figure out of the three, but I''d keep looking. I think you can find something better, more flattering? I say this only because you dont look comfortable in those photos. Maybe the strapless isn''t comfy? Or maybe the bustline needs to be taken in? Also, like me, you seem to be a "well endowed lass"! Well, many of us here are ;) Did you wear a special bra for your try ons? You might want to try a corset with a minimizer? But if those are your only three choices, definitely 1 looks the best! That cross over is very flattering...

numero uno plus a halter style strap....would be perfect!

#1 looks fabulous on you. the other 2 are nice, but don''t give you the WOW factor that the 1st dress does on you.

I wanted to post a little update:

I called the original store and said that I was from out of town but I''d seen #1 on their website and wanted to try and find more pictures online and could they please give me the style number. The girl did! So we now know that it''s Allure 1918. Before that happened though Sabine got a hold of Pearl''s place and they were able to find it based off of the picture (but they wouldn''t tell her the style #), but dress #1 is totally within in her price range now!

Ladycie: We''re from the suburbs of Pittsburgh, so we are getting married at a place called the Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg. I''m definitely a country girl, so I didn''t even consider anywhere IN Pittsburgh, but if you think you''d be interested in places South of the city, let me know, I''ve looked at over 20!

Robbie: Thanks for updating for me! I found a place near Hershey that might carry the dress as well, and I"m going today, so hopefully I can get measured and see if they can beat the price from Pearl''s Place!

Finally, have any of you out there gotten dresses that you mail ordered from Pearl''s Place? I just want to make sure they are legit. before ordering...
