How we met: We went to the same highschool but never even spoke to eachother, then we went to study in the same town and met through mutual friends. After a few dates (the usual: movies, dancing, skiing,...) we knew we have something special. We''ve been living together since 2002.
Expected engagement date: No idea. I hope it''s girl soon - in 2006. We are both very busy and I know he wants to make it special and have enough time to prepare everything. So I''ll just wait and see.

How we met: A few of my guy friends drag race and they all hung out quite a bit. I would see him around every once in a while but really wasnt interested. They all would always haggle us girls on oil changes. WHO CARES?? I just paid the dealership people to do it. I really wasn''t in to cars. Those guys worked a lot on engines and did a lot of drag racing. Not my thing. That June all of us decided to go down to Rock Falls and watch a few races for the weekend. Me, not too enthused till I saw how much fun Jeremy was, and how surprisingly sweet and funny he can be when he''s not poking fun. Beneath all the motor oil and exhaust fumes was a really awesome person.

Expected engagement: Hopefully sooner than later!

Anything else: At first it was rough, he was nursing his baby - which was an engineworks shop that deals with performance/muscle cars. It was only natural to support him and back him with that. He worked some crazy hours, but still managed to keep me here all this time!

They say opposites attract, well we were as opposite as you can get. Now, its fun to see him throw together a nice meal AND find the perfect wine to go with! And me - I think I am driving my friends nuts with all my new found car lingo! Its been a great ride and I am SO looking forward to our future!

My bf and I have been together for a little over 3 years, and getting ready for yet another "wedding season" to begin starting in May... the worst is definitely the friends we have who have met, gotten engaged, and will be getting married all within the same amount of time we''ve been plain old boyfriend and girlfriend. Actually I take that back... the worst is probably my family, who seem to have hinged all their own personal happiness on MY getting engaged and reproducing grandchildren as soon as humanly possible... sigh. BUT despite all that, I am with an amazing guy who I love with all my heart, so overall I feel pretty darn lucky... if not a bit impatient and excited about starting our "official" life together!

How you met: orkut.com. A friend of mine I''ve known for 8 years give me a positive nod. RB was single, cute, and very nice. When I met him, there was an inkling of interest, but my heart was in tatters over the last relationship. I was cynical, but unafraid to be honest about who we were dealing with. After a barrage of questioning and hearing about my bad experiences, he remained patient, understanding, interested, and fun to be with. We didn''t become romantically involved until a month after I flew back from Germany (I broke up with my ex and had to rebuild my life in the US). We got together a month later, and started living together after a few weeks (well, he just didn''t go home as often, and started keeping clothes at my place). I moved in with him, in an official capacity 6 months later, and we''ve been happy together (withstanding the test of life/family/work/upredictable obstacles).

How you met: Online. I always joke and say I won him off eBay as the highest bidder.

We actually met through a website that matched us as friends. We talked over the phone and IM before our first in-person meeting, and we just had too much in common and got along so well. We knew it had to be more than just friends. I can''t imagine my life without him now!

Expected engagement date: Sometime this year! I think it may be within the next few months, though he knows I do not expect him to propose until July after the bar exam. We have already gone window shopping and looked at pictures online of rings. He has even gone to jewelry stores by himself recently. He knows what I like and now I tell him he just has to use this knowledge for good and not evil.

Anything else?: He and I are so good together, and I feel so lucky to have him. I keep him grounded and allow him to be silly and goofy. He supports me in everything I choose to do. He was especially encouraging when I was subbing and having a hard time finding a teaching position. I love that we have been together through our senior years of undergrad together and have managed to maintain a strong and happy relationship over a distance of at least an hour apart for almost four years.

Dating: 11/12/04 until now...so 1.5 years
How we met: We work together. I was here for almost a year before I started interacting with anyone else. Then we hung out and I developed a huge crush on him, but he seemed to have a huge crush on another girl and I had an a$$hole bf from college so nothing happened. Then bf and I broke up, current bf started seeing his crush, so we drifted apart from being really good friends. Then I went to a training school, his gf moved away and they broke up, so we started seeing each other when I returned from my trip to Ohio for school (it was just two months). And things have been nearly perfect ever since!
Expected engagement: I think between May 21-23 because that''s when he gets back from a trip to Ohio that will enable him to talk to my parents, and we''re going to NYC for a little vacation that isn''t just on the weekend. I''ve been promised definitely before going to Korea though.
Anything else: Not really...I think the thing that helps us the most is our similar backgrounds. I''m from OH, he''s from PA. Both of our parents are still married, neither of us have drinking problems, both of us respect our parents. We''re both in the Air Force. We have similar values/goals/etc. And he''s very accepting of the horses, even helps me brush and leads them. And more importantly, lifts kids up on the horses for pony rides. Oh, also, his dad and I are almost completely alike...so I like to tell him that he''s had 25 years of learning how to deal with me, which is why he does it so well!

Well, since only a couple guys have posted here, and none of them are my guy, I guess I'm safe to post here *although I guess I shouldn't have peeked without knowing if he'd been here, but I think someone said it was safe. Yeah, let's go with that.*

Started dating: unofficially, April 17, 2005. Officially, June 3, 2005.
How we met: eharmony, actually. "Met" in March, on a sunday, and ended up talking online for the *longest* time that night. I NEVER ask for phone numbers, and I just had to. We talked on the phone the next night, and haven't stopped talking daily since. We met in person in April, and he absolutely melted me. In May, he asked if I had ever considered being the wife of a man like him, and it made me cry, because it was just like he was reading my heart. He asked me to be *his girl* that day, but I declined, scared to hurt him in the long run (I had history of not trusting the good guys and falling for the lies of the bad guys). He asked again in June, and I knew by then that he'd help me get through any baggage, and he has.
Why I love him and want to be his wife: He is the best friend I've always wanted, and the man I know I can go to in any situation, and he prays for me and with me, and he's such a blessing in my life. I see Christ alive and at work in him, and it strengthens my walk, and it helps me to want to be as much for him as he is for me. Even though he says I already am, I know I'm hard on him sometimes, without even meaning to be. Anyway, that's just part of why I love him. Basically, I feel free to be me, exactly me with him. It's the best feeling in the world; to know you're loved completely, even when you're being horrible. He's just so forgiving and we've grown so much! Sounds cheesy, but I'm *such* a better person because of the relationship we've built. He says the same, but I think he was just fabulous from the start.
Expected engagement date: Ahh, I don't know. Soon, soon. But then, when I think it's coming, I can be let down. I think it'll be before summer gets here, though. *I also thought it would be in April, though. So you can't count on what I think too much!*
