OK so I will admit I have never come onto this thread. But I saw fisher posted and thought the worlkd might be ending because she wasn't supposed to venture off her post. Tsk tsk, but it sounds like it is ok. So I am gonna post and then go back and starrt a reading.

Me: Amanda, 23, MAOT student
Him: K, 32, an accountant of some type, he "crunches numbers" all day
Distance: 1668 miles between Minnesota and Washington state (according to mapquest)
How we met: Online through a stupid site. Nothing was supposed to come of it for a number of reasons. The first night I called him on the phone we talked for over 2.5 hours. And then for hours every day thereafter. One night (about 2 weeks after we started talking) he said had something he wasn't sure he should tell me but I told him he had to! He blurted out "I think I'm in love with you...." And well that was the beginning....
Dating: October 30th 2005 he said those beautiful words and well things snowballed from there.
Expected engagement etc: Well right now the plan is he will move here (MN) in Jan. Engagement will probably be about a year to a year and a half or so thereafter.
Anything Else: Our nick names for each other was quite the silly little thing. I started calling him Goober one day and so he had to go on a search for an equally ridiculous one for me. So Goober and DingDong we are. And I believe the picture of us can atest to the ridiculousness of us both.

Wow I can;t believe I waited this long to look at this thread! Sheesh! I absolutely LOVE the pictures, they work so much better than those silly yahoo avatar! Faces really stick with me. Oh boy, Im gonna go through every page again hehehehehe

How We Met: Match.com! but friends first, I was already dating someone else from match and he was dating someone else.
Where we first met: a coffee shop about 1 mile away from my house, second week in August 2005 I was there to console him, all he did was complain about the girl he was dating and how she wasn''t calling him back. Then a couple of months later I found myself at his house complaining about the guy I was dating. I agreed to come over to watch a hockey game ( have no clue about hockey) and the rest is history!!

Thanks. anchor. Despite my attempt to look cool in my pseudo-J-Lo shades, I love my expression in this pic. It''s pure bliss as BF is gently helping me strap on an ill-fitting helmet before we went on a Segue tour!

The best thing I can say about the experience is that it''s hard for people to point how how big yer butt looks on one of these things (it''s all pushed out for balance) because you''re zipping by them at a mighty 5 miles per hour.

I''m sorry I don''t have any pics of us right.... We just got back from vacation so after I download the pics I''ll attempt to post one.

After reading a lot of the other posts, I decided I was a little too brief in my introduction so here some more info:

How you met: We were both in Put-in-Bay, Lake Erie, OH with our friends. I was on a bachelorette party. He was with about 20 guys. We rented out a house and so did they in the same area, they kept driving by in golf carts when they saw all the girls at our house. A lot of girls I was with were a little crazy... they immediately went down to the boys house and started drinking. I, at the time, had broken up with my boyfriend of 7 years just 3 weeks prior. I had absolutely NO interest in men at the time and actually thought they sucked so I stayed up at the house. Later, when it was time to go out to the bars, I walked down to the boys house to get the other girls and that is when I got my first glimpse of him. He had just gotten back from the pool and went inside to get ready to go out so I saw him for probably about 10 seconds. At the bar later, he came up to me and we hit it off. Unfortunately, I drank one too many Long Islands and busted my face after I left the bar when I tried to help a friend up off the ground that had fell. I leaned over and fell right on my face, all I remember is wiping blood from my nose and mouth. I had to walk back to the cab where he was waiting with a scraped up bleeding face. Needless to say, I made a complete ass of myself that night, but apparently the next 2 days we spent together he got to know the real me. I am from Cincinnati, OH, he was from Chicago. We dated for 1 1/2 yrs long distance (which was hard), but then he got a job and moved to Cincy to be with me!
Expected engagement date: No idea..... I am hoping by the end of June.

Anything else you want to add?: I was going on and on about the ring at dinner one night last week while we were on vacation. We were in a really nice restaurant and I guess I kind of got carried away.... finally, I noticed he was looking away from me for a period of time and acting very bored and uninterested. I asked him if there was something wrong and he said was "no, but can you change the subject?" I took the hint and I haven''t talked about he ring since. He has mentioned a few times that he would like to be a surprise (as much as it can be) so I guess I need to shut up about it until he proposes. It''s just so hard! I am doing my best not to think about it and focus on just everyday activities.... work, getting flowers planted for the summer, getting ready for a yardsale, etc.
