The invitations give me early heartburn. Go figure.

Wedding is in a vineyard... semi formal to formal wedding with (I hope) the feel of a fun celebration on a lovely late summer or early autum night. Groom's family is Italian, Bride's is Middle Eastern.

Okay so here are your choices (this week
20.gif
)

1. Tea Length Lace invitations printing of lace design would be either grass or mango:

http://www.whiteaisle.com/barcelona_invitation.htm

2. Classic Rectangular Card printing of design would be in either grass or mango:

http://www.whiteaisle.com/venice_invitation.htm

3. Tea Length invitation printing of lace design would be either grass or mango:

http://www.whiteaisle.com/lily_invitation.htm

4. Classic Rectange Invitation with Paisley, design would either be in grass or mango.

http://www.whiteaisle.com/jaipur_invitation.htm

(Note: I've seen and felt white aisle invites and loved them)

5. Classic Elegant SUPER HEAVY card stock invitation. Colors would be as pictured:

http://www.invitationconsultants.com/invitation.aspx?p_invitationitem=4MOA-LSMB

(Note: I adore the card stock of Checkerboard invitations so amazing and rich feeling)

6. Classic Rectangular card with a vine pattern, would be printed in Pumpkin.

(I have not ordered WPD invites for samples yet. The 7 bucks a pop is a hard to swallow, will get them if they make the 'finals').

I like the monochrome lilies best. Also, if it makes a difference, I''m pretty sure whiteaisle can do them on either regular cards or the tea length, though I haven''t yet confirmed that with them. I like the tea length, though -- I''m just mentioning it to offer yet more confusing options!

I adore 1 and 3...they both evoke ornate and exotic celebrations!!

I''m just torn. I''ve always liked whiteaisle A LOT. They are really "me" I think. I just can''t decide between them very easily. I like the Venice pattern the best, but prefer the tea length invites... so they do the designs on different paper sizes?

Then there is the checkerboard which has just such a rich heavy feel and I love the calla. I think a font change would make me like them a lot. And then there is the funky fun WPD ones.

number 2 is sooo gorgous but then again i also love the third choice too...wow this is a tough choice, but i would go for number 2 over number 3

Hi Gypsy - I think we are using similar colors...did you already buy your bm dresses? I just got mine this weekend and they are a coral color...in between orange and red. So for my flowers I am thinking of light green, cream/light yellow, coral/orange.

This was a hard choice but I voted for #2. All of the white aisle ones are nice. I liked the tea length size but preferred the pattern on #2. I didn''t care for the paisley or calla lily. The WPD one is nice but is less formal so if you want people to be more formal, I would go with white aisle.

#3 is my favorite, and I think #2 is the runner up for me.

TEE TEE!!

. I love the venice pattern too, but I want a tea length I think. I just emailed them to ask if the tea length is a possibility with the venice pattern!

We're doing similar colors!! How awesome is that! CONGRATS on checking the BM dresses off your list! I haven't picked my Bm dresses-- but then, I'm not going to either. I'm only having one attendant, my maid of honor and best friend, and I just told her to get a tea length black dress without a pattern. I love the look of Robbie's pics and (vainly) love the idea of John, the BM, and MOH all in black in the pics with me in white. Terrible, I know, but true. Plus, she's a grad student and has everything she needs for a black outfit (shoes, etc) and can easily find an affordable nice black dress on a budget, whereas if I went with a particular color, it would be much harder on her.

Have you decided on invites for yourself?

I voted for 3. I like the each of the lacey/henna designs, but I like the specific design and composition of 3 best. I also like 6 but it''s a very different look from the others (does it match the feel of your wedding?).

I like #2 the best!

I don''t know sera. I don''t think so. I kinda want it to though, if that makes any sense. This invite thing is THE DRESS all over again. And we all know how many of THOSE I ended up with. *ducks head in shame*

I like #6. I think it definitely works with your wedding theme. Based on your centerpiece/flower thread, it seems that your design theme is bold/graphic as opposed to delicate/dainty. The White Aisle invites are beautiful, but they make me envision a wedding full of floaty, ruffley flowers in pastel colors. I hope that makes sense. Its hard to describe what I'm thinking.

ETA: Maybe look at the picture of your bouquet next to each invitation and see what works. That's the picture I have in my head.

I have no idea on my invites. I need to do two languages so I haven''t decided if I want to do two separate versions or try to combine it on one... honestly, I will only get to invite like 25 guests out of 400 so I may just do the combined version. haha. But if I didn''t have these restrictions, I would be looking at designs similar to the ones you''ve picked out
21.gif

That is nice of you to choose black for the moh dress. I think it is very elegant. My two younger sisters are my bm''s so I just paid for their dresses...can''t do much better than $77 at the bcbg outlet. The color wasn''t what I originally had in mind but it''s a nice summer color so I figured, why not.

I hope they can do the venice pattern in the tea length...wonder what that will look like.

Goldenstar it''s SO funny to hear you say that because that''s excatly the reason #6 is still in the running. I think it works the best with my flowers and reception decor. But I think the white aisle ''match'' the feeling of my dress the best.

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/i-started-to-cry.77253/ If I didn''t love the dress so much, then I''d change it to match the rest. But the dress is romantic and lacy and just... very feminine, which is how I want to feel on my wedding day. I''ve been through three dresses though, so the invite confusion becomes a little less of a surprise.

I know invitationlane.com does invitations in two languages. My cousin got hers from them. English on front, Farsi on back. And you know what I bet whitesaisle would do double sided invites for you if you asked!

Do you have pics of the BM dresses you picked? They sound very fun! I''ve offered to pay for my BM''s dress, but she''s told me she can handle it, so we''ll see. I''m probably going to pick up the hotel for her though. Her parent''s live a about an hour and half from my venue though, so she keeps saying she may not need one. She''s independant. LOL.

I voted #1...

I like #1 because it looks like your heritage...I like #3 because it most reminds me of his. I know that is a funny of getting to the decision, you are matching your wedding not your bloodlines. But you wouldn''t expect a straight answer out of me anyway. They are all great...you won''t be disappointed in any of them. Ooooh this is getting exciting, isn''t it Gyp?

Ooh, thanks for the link. I''ll save it for when I''m ready to start looking at invites...I feel like I have a million things to do and end up spending all my time procrastinating or over-researching.

Here''s a pic of the bm dresses taken on my camera phone. The photo is washed out but you get the idea. I will probably remove the flower and maybe replace it with a rhinestone or crystal brooch or something...sorry to everyone else for the threadjack. I wish we could pm here because I am much more of a lurker than poster.

#5...I'm a sucker for heavy, rich feeling cardstock. I do love the designs of 1,2,3and 4....but I kept coming back to #5--I was just really attracted to it. sorry!
15.gif

ETA: #6 is gorgeous too, though...I think I like the more minimalist look for your invites I guess. I like the first 4 ideas but somehow they don't feel like "you."

ETA again: ok, MAYBE #4... so i guess from what I know of you Gypsy, #5, #6, and #4, in that order. He hee...I'm totally going against your poll here and making three verbal votes...I do apologize. Just trying to give you really honest feedback.

I''d go with number 3. I love the design of it.

They''re all really pretty but my favorites are 6, 3, and 5 (in that order I think). I didn''t vote because I couldn''t choose just one. I know you''ve been considering #6 for a while and I think it''s beautiful. Hm, I think I''ll go back and vote for that one.

I just got a reply email from whiteaisle. They can do the Venice design on a tea length card, no extra charge.

So I think it''s between that and number 6. I''ve loved the venice for quite a while now... but something about #6 just strikes me as really fitting. So I think I''m going to order samples of both to see which I prefer.

Thank you all!

The tea length lilly invite one the poll, interestingly enough. I wonder how the numbers would change if I posted #2 tea length.

Teetee, you don''t ever have to apologize for threadjacking any of my posts! I love those dresses! They are going to look gorgeous especially if you replace the flower with a broach! Don''t be a stranger, we love hearing from you!

DKS--- yup the ball is REALLY rolling. I panicked on the invites when I realized I have to order them 6 weeks out from the date I need them. Then they have to go to the calligrapher (if I decide to use one)... so I think they need to be ordered in April!!! Yikes! Much earlier than I thought I''d be ordering them.

Don''t apologize, you just verbalized my whole dilemna! I love the rich card stock of 5 and love that there is a calla on there as I will have orange callas in my bouquet. Number 6 ''feels'' right-- the minimalism of it appeals to me for the way my wedding is shaping up. And number 4 has paisley, which I love.

And then there is the design of number 2 on a tea length card. Which I am leaning heavily toward. So I''m torn between that and #6. I love tea length invites. They are so different than all the ones we''ve been receiving. Plus I''ve ordered two samples of ''pocket'' invites, just to kick that idea around and see how I feel about it. I suspect I won''t be going that route though... it''s a little too trendy for me.

Such a stupid thing, a peice of paper with a design and some writing ... so much energy expended on it. Crazy!

I''m very happy to hear that!

Gypsy, I love your taste in invitations and have been following along. It''s helped me a lot in my own invitation search. I was hoping you can tell me how the White Aisle cardstock compares to the Checkerboard and Carlson Craft paper? I''m a sucker for thick cardstock too. Are all the Checkerboard invitations the same thickness, or are some thicker than others?

I can''t decide... I know I''m not being helpful since they are all quite nice. I think if i was hard pressed I''d pick #2 Venice.

gtn... I think I picked my invites today actually! Only Caveat might be the shipping costs. but they are SO beautiful!

I JUST got the samples in the mail. FROM EBAY!!!

Here''s the ones I ordered! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280198580448&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=018

She did them for me with a white pocket and orange ribbon and orange design. I''ll post a couple of pics in a sec. She said the ribbon is the wrong color (I Agree, but we''ll find the right color and use that). But I love the design and price of them. And John loved them too. I''m not sure I''m going to do black border and printiing like these, or brown border and printing. But the paper weight, and the feel and look of them ... OH I LOVE THEM.

I hope the post office doesn''t rape me to ship them.

First pic. Remember the ribbon color is WAY to crossing guard. I''m going to have that changed to a deeper more burnt orange.
