Yup, not to mention that tanzanites have perfect cleavage in one direction (so it might split into two pieces if hit just right) and also sensitivity to thermal shock. I’ve read that sometimes the temperature between the hot lights of the display case and the chilly glass countertop in an air-conditioned showroom can be enough to develop cleavages in tanzanites.
