Just wanted to report that....
I haven't ordered from JTV (my drug of choice) from over a month now
!!!!
My last time was the parcel that I reported on earlier in this thread... which I was really disappointed with and returned. I returned some jewelery that I decided was sub-standard at the same time.
Since then I did pick up the phone once or twice... and talked to the sales reps once or twice... and ultimately decided against ordering whatever had caught my eye.
I'm sure I'll buy some things from both JTV and internet (read: e-bay) sources in the future. I'm fascinated by colored gemstones, and sometimes I just want the chance to see and hold something "in the flesh". I'm not concerned about creating a world class collection of 3 carat - plus gemstones, and not all of my stones ahve to be jewelry-worthy (I don't need a whole lot more jewelry than I have right now). A collection of small, beautiful examples of Mother Nature's sparkling wonders suits me just fine.
But I've also become a lot more knowlegeable and discriminating about colored gemstones since hanging around this forum. I'm really looking forward to buying some nice custom-cut gems, when I'm ready for (and can afford) a piece of new, just-for-me jewelery.
Pricescope has helped me get to this point. Thank you all for the information that you share so freely!
Ooooh... they're showing a wonderful 14 kt gold Omega necklace for less than $15 per gram ... and they only have 11 left for THE WHOLE COUNTRY...
Just kidding
