here''s a silly question but do any of you get to perform the Nutcracker Suite during this time of year?
There are some beautiful flute parts.

I have played parts of the the Nutcracker but never the entire ballet. You would have to be a member of a ballet pit orchestra for that. My favorite music from this ballet is the Pas de Deux near the end. It just so beautiful. I was at a performance of the San Francisco Ballet performing the Nutcracker once and gasp ... the guy dropped her during the Pas de Deux.

I play principal flute in our community orchestra. Last week our concert included selections from Handel''s Messiah (with audience sing along) and Leroy Anderson''s Sleigh Ride.

That must have sounded so beautiful. Our local classical radio station is playing holiday music. It''s wonderful.
