We only had 6 guests attend our wedding so it''s a little bit smaller than yours.


The restaurant we held the reception at was The Beach House Restaurant in Koloa on the south of the island. They have a special kids menu so I''m pretty sure they are kid friendly. The restaurant had really good food as well as great ambiance so I definitely recommend them!

I just checked out the website and it looks wonderful! How did you find such a gem? The Lower Lanai looks beautiful!

Did you use a wedding planner for the ceremony/photos? I have looked online and the price range varies so much, I am a bit concerned if it is a "get what you pay for" deal.

I didn't hire a wedding planner.. with such a small wedding as ours I really didn't see a point. I hired all the vendors I needed individually. Sara Wall was our photographer, Dianne Gardner did my hair and makeup, Blue Orchid did our flowers and we hired a private chef (Chef Morgan) to come to us the night before and cater our rehearsal/groom's dinner.

The girls on the Hawaii forum on theknot were so helpful with my wedding planning, lots of advice on vendor reviews, helpful suggestions, etc. I don't think I would've been able to plan it w/out them!

re: Beach House restaurant
The Lower Surf Lanai is where we were seated actually. It's on the left corner of the restaurant, a little bit tucked away from all the noise and everything. Definitely a nice and intimate spot for a reception (with awesome views of the ocean). On the evening we were there, they had a table of 8 for us and 3 other tables of 4. Since you're having a party of 20, you might be able to hire out the entire area.
