As far as Mark Morell, I did speak with Leon about Mark, and he thinks his work is nice. So I don't think he would be opposed to doing something like Mark's Torchiere or whatnot, but obviously for copyright reasons he would put his own twist on it, which I for one would love to see!

Allow me to oblige - will any of these do?

BF actually spoke to Leon about incorporating some kind of Torchiere-esque surprise diamonds into our design and Leon didn't think it would mesh well with his classic solitaire - felt it would work against the delicate look we were aiming for. But I bet he'd be open to designing something from scratch for you that would incorporate that element! Our is a cathedral setting so obviously quite different to the Torchiere to start with...

So, I think I''m being ridiulous but I am also contemplating going thinner...Currently mine is set to be 1.8mm, but should I ask for thinner???? I LOVE Kate Beckinsale''s thread and actually mentioned them to Leon during our meeting.

Melanie, I would NOT worry about sparkle...I saw some of his rings that were thin in person and they were definitley sparkling!

Yeah, I can see why Leon wouldn''t want to put surprise diamonds in the prongs of his classic. The lines of it are what make it so elegant! I think eventually I''m going to have to decide between them...I really love the profile of the Torchiere, but I also love more open settings that show the side of the stone. So...I dunno. I doubt there''s much of a price difference between Leon and Mark, so I guess I''ll just have to figure out what style I like better. Eventually.

Kroshka~ I'm still drooling over your ring, I just love it!!

As far as mine goes, I did go for the insert bc I had to be a pain and pave the whole darn thing! Everything will be platinum, white gold was never discussed, but I know he does work with it. I presonally just prefer the look of the platinum, and it's durability factor. Apparently when wearing a ring with the insert you will somewhat be able to see it. He thinks it looks 'cool' but I wanted it for practical reasons (sizing).

Are you considering doing something with an insert??

CrookedRock, I was just wondering because I have a ring that does have an insert (never really new that is what they were called . It was just my understanding that maybe white gold is used more for these things because of how it keeps it's tension. I'm curious to know if platinum will not keep it's "spring" as long as gold does.

I have to say though I have been able to deal with the size....... and that is coming from someone that usually doesn't have large stones cause I can't afford the 5 carat fancy colored rocks

We may be talking about 2 differeent kinds of inserts. Is yours on a spring like the memoire eternity bands are? The one Leon does is solid. r782 on his site shows it. Do you have any pics of yours?
And glad to know you are getting used to the size. you'rs is way bigger than mine, but I'm a lil nervous, but moreso excited!

Probably...it''s supposed to be done in about another 2 weeks. And I''ve already had this discussion with him...he''ll likely kill me if I mention it again.

By the way, what are you waiting on? Is it the tsav earrings? Or the tsav ring also? Or that gorgeous Spess? Because I''d love to have a play-date when you get them back!!!
